The first crop in our 'recently' started vegetable garden is growing nicely. It will tale some more time.before we can harvest it. Apart from broccoli we have planted carrots, cauliflower and beetroot, but those were planted as seeds, so they are still very small. It's a nice experiment and really cool to grow some some food yourself. Does anyone else here have a vegetable garden as well?

Back home, we do have a small garden before. Now we only grow some in pots.
I love broccoli and cauliflower so much but we're never lucky with growing it, the worms seem to like it even more 😭🙈 carrots grow easily here, we make them a soft "bed" with soil, sand and ashes so they can grow big ❤️
The leaves of our broccoli also had holes in them in the beginning. I suspected snails from doing this. I created a circle of coffee grounds and crushed egg shells around them because snails hate that. But that won't help against worms I guess.
Our problems begin at the roots, they eat the whole roots, killing the plant, it's rare to see a broccoli/cauliflower survive more than a couple days.. ☹️
Really. I always thought worms were good for the soil.
We used to. Not now. But my grandma grows some lemon and date at home :)

Absolutely, @FriendlyMoose. Unfortunately, our growing season just ended. But spring will be here before you know it. That is healthy-looking broccoli.
I started in autumn. Not the best season to start, but was inspired by a book I read during my summer holiday. I see this as practising for next spring.

This is my favorite "upland" vegetable but it's very expensive here.🤗
