If I Request For Help, Would You Be My Super Hero?
I know so many people will condemn me for putting this up right now, but I couldn't keep it to myself because it is said, a problem shared is a problem solved.
Things haven't been so rosy with me, so a friend invited me to this platform. At first I thought I would make a living out of it. Just to find for myself, wife and daughter. But it hasn't been an easy one. So I decided to go do some menial jobs too. Right now, I am at my lowest level, I feel ashamed writing this here but can someone be my superhero?
The Importance Of Blogging In Our Daily Lives
The world today seeks credible and updated information and this could only be achieved through the blogging community.
Waking up to a new day, the first thing I choose to check are the comments on my blog. Blogging came at a time, when the world needed more people to share their ideas with and not just people around them. It became a commodity that serves a lot of purposes. From interacting with people, learning new skills and making passive income, blogging has become a second job of choice.
**What Is Blogging?**
Before we talk about something, we must first understand what it is. *Blogging in simple terms is defined as an act of disseminating information through photography, music, writings and videos using the Internet as a medium. This is used to pass information to individuals, groups and the world at large.* Most blogs are textual, while others are subdivided into different other units, namely;
**•Vlog:** It is the act of passing information using videos. This type of blogging is mostly used in delivering messages that involves demonstrations. Used in tutorials, comedy skits and motivational related content.
**•Artblog:** This type of blogging involves the display of Art works, paintings and sculptures.
**•Mp3blog:** The blog is based on uploading music both trending and old. Users are often permitted to download them into their device.
**•Podcast:** Same as the vlog but in the audio format.
**•Photoblog:** Image based blogging content.
**Importance of Blogging.**
No man is an Island of knowledge, so he requires getting it from other sources. This is to enable him to survive in his ever changing environment. Here are the top reasons why blogging is important.
**1) Information:** Man being a social animal, requires information to keep them united. Imagine a world without information, things will be done haphazardly and coldly. Everything will be done based on trial and error. There won't be any means to gain first hand knowledge about the latest pizza recipe since we don't live in Italy, we will be deficient of the latest technology if we are not living in China, USA or Russia.
The art of blogging has made it possible for people to know about trending products and services. It has also helped to reduce the spread of diseases, through blogging we have first hand knowledge of the latest disease outbreak, precautions and controls.
Being up to date with the latest educational information is made possible through the blogs. During the Covid-19 period, schools had resorted to online platforms to communicate and also lecture their students, making it cheap and safe to acquire knowledge.
**2) Helps In Building Our Communication Skills:** Before I joined this platform, I have always had a great fear of writing. I thought before you become a writer, you need some supernatural gifts. This made me develop cold feet when it came to blogging. When I took up my first role as a writer, I discovered it was even easier than I thought.
I have seen great changes in my interactions with other people. There are a lot of grammatical changes and a boost of self esteem. Blogging also creates chances to learn new words.
**3) Passive Income:** Though users have begun taking blogging as their main source of income, I am still yet to do so. Blogging through its many platforms has been a source of income to many users. For instance, this platform we are on offers us the opportunity to develop ourselves, learn new things and also learn from it. Some great blogging sites have recruited competent people to help manage the activities on the site, which has served as a job opportunity, thereby reducing the level of job scarcity.
The world of blogging has made a lot of millionaires and this is courtesy of them, being zealous in their pursuit. Remember other users are also using this platform but has gotten nothing from it.
**4) Reduces Boredom:** Have you ever considered how life would have been without all these blogging sites? There are some sites that offer free online games which help to keep its users busy while others provide entertaining videos. These and many more, reduce boredom. Little wonder, why are some people scared of their devices getting low? It is because of the pleasure and satisfaction they gain from those sites.
**5) Connect People Together:** This aspect of the importance of blogging cannot be undermined. We get connected to people far and near, in different platforms we've joined. Imagine someone who stays in Malaysia, communicating with someone in South Africa. All because of the power of blogging.
Most times we get free updates about things in other countries even without asking. For instance, during the Philippines election, I followed it keenly because of the many users on this site. It also serves as a reminder of important dates in the history of other countries.
**If I am asked, I will say blogging is the voice of the common man, where he can't travel to, just the right login, will take him there.**

Blogging has served a lot of purpose not just for its monetary aspect but also educational and entertainment too. We all need the right tap to connect with the world.

Consistency: The Building Block Of Every Success

In our world today everyone is in search of shortcuts to success. The advent of the internet has rendered a lot of people handicapped, as we all depend on the internet for solutions to problems without making an attempt on our own. The idea of living in the 21st century, where everything has to be done without stress or delay is becoming a bone in the neck. Rather than helping us it has made people become more impatient, making some shy away from trying again.
The principle of trying again is gradually fading away. I didn't get it the first time, I can't wait any longer, I need to try on something else. The era of putting more effort is becoming absurd as things can be done within the snap of a finger, without stress or difficulty.
**What Is Consistency?**
In simple terms, it is seen as the process of being firm on our pursuit or activity. It is also known as ***persistence*****. And the opposite is inconsistency.** The attitude of not giving up so easily, being able to sail through turbulent moments without fear or negligence.
***Should we blame the advancement in technology as the main cause of inconsistency?*** Partially, yes! The days of using two weeks to carry out research are over. Now, we can use just five minutes to gather all the information we need. Give me reasons why someone won't outgrow this amazing character.
In the academic world, students often shy away from courses they feel are tough. Forgetting the fact, all that is being taught was produced by humans. If they had shy away, how would we have had all the difficult books we are scared of studying?. If a student isn't consistent in his/her studies, there is bound to be a setback, and it results in inconsistency. *The popular saying, practice makes perfect* should be put to action. Rather than just say it, try it. Be consistent in studies, you don't have to throw your books away. If you do so, you might end up not having the desired knowledge. Even though you may cram to pass an examination. It is clearly seen, lack of consistency breeds incomplete success.
In our circular work, if you don't practice the basic techniques needed in your field, you might lack behind. Where others who persist are making it, you will be struggling. Let's presume, you are a musician. Can you compare the first day you started singing to your current status now? Of course, they will be a great change, if and only if you are consistent. You will notice you are now able to sing with ease as compared to others who started and never continued because they were mocked. That is what consistency yields, it boost self esteem.
It is clearly seen that consistency is needed in every journey of life. Even in the blogging world and social media. You will notice your first post on Facebook never got as many likes and comments as your current post, what gave your post that boost wasn't just you having a large number of friends. You were able to get their attention because you never stopped writing and uploading new photos. And now their reactions and comments have increased which has boosted your perseverance spirit. But what would have happened, if you were ignored for all those while you posted, will you still have the courage to continue posting and uploading photos? If yes, then you are displaying the rightful spirit of consistency but if no! Then that is inconsistency.
It also plays an important role in our day to day activities. For instance, you got enrolled in a driving school, no matter the number of videos you have seen on YouTube, Facebook and other social media. You will not be able to drive the car on your first day. Learning how to master it, depends on how serious you are. You can't enter a car and drive it for the first time no matter the kind of genius you are. It will take days and constant preparations to drive one. Another instance is an athlete who wants to win his first race. The athlete has to practice for a period of time and also be able to develop social and mental stamina. You can't think of winning on your first trial or next, you have to be consistent to make your effort count.
Finally, it can be deduced that consistency and inconsistency are two sides of the same coin. No matter how high we throw our coin, we are bound to get just one result. The first trial isn't enough reason to give up, why not give it another perfect shot? The best shots are learnt after a series of bad shots, failures and disappointments. Technology has made it difficult to encourage trying again but whatever is the challenge, we don't have to let go because we failed the first time. We should only give up when all our trials and techniques lead us to the same impossible route. Being consistent is all we need in our journey in the virtual world. We might not have the same comments, likes and upvotes every day, but on days when we have a low return of comments and upvotes, will it encourage us to try harder or to give up?
