Part One:-Terror At Night
It was 7:00pm in keidi town, lydia sat outside her house waiting for her parents to return from the neighbouring town after the days business. It was already sunset, Lydia was feeling uncomfortable because her parents have never stayed out late after the days business.
However, she waited patiently for their return,but there was no sign of them. Lydia ran out of hope, different thoughts running through her head. She mumbled as she waited, she was so scared that something bad might have happened to them.
While she waited for her parents, a big owl flew into her compound and stood on the mango tree. It cried so loud, it kept on crying, which made Lydia so uncomfortable. She became more worried.
Lydia went into the house, locked all the rooms and the entrance door as well. Immediately she set out to search for her parents. She walked through the thick bushes, the woods, the sounds of the chipping birds and the sounds of the crickets made her scared but she was determined to look for her parents.
On getting to the neighboring town,she came across an incident, the crowd was too much that she couldn't see what was going on. She moved further, only to find her parents lying lifeless on the floor. That day felt like the end of the world to her. Lydia prayed the floor would open and swallow her. She wailed and fell to the floor. People looked at her in awe, they felt her pain. The deed has already been done they said as they walked slowly away from the scene.
Lydia cried her eyes out,she don't know where to start from,she have no one to turn to. Hours went by, some emergency officials came with their bus to take her parents to the morgue. Lydia went back home with a heavy heart.
Drug abuse and it's effects.
Drug abuse is the excessive use of drugs.i.e alcohol,pain reliever or illegal drugs(weed, marijuana.e.t.c).
These days most teenagers and youths derive joy in taking drugs.
Due to lack of parental guidance some teenagers tend to join some peers of their age range and are being lured into doing things that are bad and illegal, whereby they are being lured into taking drugs.
In that case they tend to develop more interest in going deep in the drug cycle.
Drug abuse has it's bad effect on people who abuse drugs. The effects are as follows:-
Mental confusion:- people who abuse drugs tend to go though mental disorder or confusion. They find it difficult to think straight and therefore tend to forget things easily. Drug abuse affects their thinking ability, which therefore leads to brain blackout.
Red pulpy eyes:- People who abuse drugs tend to have red pulpy eyes. The drugs as well affects their retina, which at the end affects their eye sight.
Lung cancer:- People who abuse drugs tend to suffer from serious lung cancer, which could lead to the death of the person.
Drugs like:- Weed, Colorado, Marijuana, Arizona. People smoke this drugs and the smoke tends to make their lungs black which therefore leads to lung cancer.
Leukemia
Stroke
Seizures
Insomnia.e.t.c.
These are the effects of drug abuse.
Reasons why people especially teenagers and youths tend to become victims of drug abuse are:-
*Peer pressure
*Lack of parental care
*Lack of love and support from family.
*Sexual urge
*To gain power .e.t.c
Ways where by drug abuse can be controlled:-
*Parents should show love and care to their children while growing.
*Parents should monitor their children ways of spending money.
*Parents should know the kind of friends their children move with.
*Teachers should monitor their students movement as they grow
*Government should ban use of illegal drugs by the citizens.
*Pharmacists should mind the kind of drugs that are being sold to teenagers and reasons they buy them.
Drug abuse is very bad and is affecting the country negatively. It needs to stop.
