The Struggle Of A Young Lady This is a story about a young lady and it is written from the first man point of view💯😇 Life is all about Hocus-pocus
I came from a small town in Kwara State, Ijagbo to be precise, I'm a girl of great vision but the country in which I find myself don't allow the shine of a young lady like me, i was born into the Family of Engineer Alawode & Mrs Alawode, My Dad is a Lecturer and my Mum is also a Teacher (I know what you're thinking, they are both academician) I'm the second child of my parent and I also have 3 other Siblings, "story for another day". I'm a graduate of University of Ilorin, I studied Educational Management, I'm not that bright or count myself to be among the scholars in my department but with the right amount of studying, I'm able to graduate with a good grades.
Imagine in a university with about 12,000 students who are admitted into it and just about 6,000 students are graduating. *Sometimes I wonder where are the remaining students went to and I got to know one thing along the line, some students face Tanke, " this is to imply they failed", some change school because they couldn't cope anymore, some got rusticated, others, death took them away and some spilled, this life is all about check and balance.* During my days in school, I stayed in a private hostel, Micheal Hostel to be precise, I would like to drop a little advise 'if you're not always contented with what you have, please don't stay in any private hostel' and this is because of Oppression from what others have, Some girls will get dressed and go out at night while some of us will stay in the hostel gossiping with our roommates about what's going on in the hostel and the likes but there is always time for seriously, and this is when you hear CBT timetable is out or Exam timetable is out, you see people get serious.
If you're in the Faculty of Education (Educational Management to be precise) you should all know Dr. Saheed, the only sadist in my department, whenever we have his exam, it usually looks as if we're in normal class because the exam sometime can be so simple but at the end of the examination, he will come to the class the following semester saying only one of you had A, the rest E and F, ask your fellow Nigerian friends, many can relate. Graduation list If you know the University of Ilorin, you'll know how the tension is whenever you hear the Senate are seating for the decision of those that will be graduating, you'll be contemplating if you part of the lucky ones or you'll come back the following year (extra year). When I heard the Senate are seating, I remember I called my uncle and he was like, "My sister your name is part of those that will be graduating" but seeing is believing, I remember calling my friend Monsurah to ask if she has seen hers, she said this will be the 5th time she will visit the rest room because her mind is perplexed, To cut the long story short, I checked my portal the following day and I checked my graduating status and it says "Congratulations you've graduated with a second class" that's like the second best graduating student, I remember I was at my place of work, a fashion designing shop, immediately I went on my knees and started praying and thanking God for the success.
The following day, my best friend came over to my place, the person of Rufai Kehinde aka Mz Kenny, we went to school together and our Lecturers were happy to see us, we met a man on our way and he said "it is only those that have graduated that will be coming to school to say hi, but those that didn't will be in sober" I just remembered, did I tell you there was a lecturer who was dating a girl in my department, and yet, they refused to let her graduate, and I was shocked because we all know she shared her body with the lecturer and his friends, they most have enjoyed her so they decided not to let her go so as to enjoy her for another year (meaning extra year). NYSCNYSC
Image source https://images.app.goo.gl/gQe58r49yWzgh8sH8 Fast forward to my NYSC registration, I picked Kano, Osun, Abia and one other state, were i will serve for my NYSC, its a norms in my country, immediately I got home I told my mum I'm serving in Kano, ASAP she rejected it saying I should be positive and this is because some place in Kano have been declared war zone, I told her I saw Kano coming. October 22nd my call up letter came out, indeed I was posted to Kano and the following day was our convocation (more like my graduation ceremony hosted for all graduating student by the school) I skipped my convocation, went to school on 22nd for my certificate and I was happy our Lecturers listen to all our plead because of people that are going far distance for their service. I went to get all the stuffs I will be needing for camp, I left Ilorin on the 24th October and we set out to Kano, (Karaye camp) the camp is surrounded by water. I was lazy in camp and had lot of friends, was it about the free food at mammy market? or the attention you got from guys?, lot happened in Kano yet I wouldn't think of redeployment, I did my Passing Out Parade (**POP**) in Kano and I was happy because I was able to come out strong.
After my NYSC, I started travelling round(Abuja,Ibadan and Lagos) I was not looking for a job because I know I'm not ready but I joined NGOs. Then after the End SARS protest, my parent asked me to come back to ilorin, she wants me to get a job which I obeyed, I also want to work because of the experience. I joined an organisation, (biggest I.T firm in ilorin) as an Internal Auditor and I fell in love with a guy who works there too, (I know you've been waiting for this part) I will call it infatuation because the guy is a saint, to other people, he is just too perfect and shy, he can't talk to girls but we have lot of experience, I joined the Company December 2020 and we started seeing January, I know it's against the ethics of the company, he is always afraid that Managing Director will sack him if he finds out and he'll favor me because we're family, he doesn't have balls. Many things happened and I see this guy as my friend not only F*ck buddies (according to me) he is always their during my hard time, he changed lot of things about me but he never reciprocate the feelings I had for him, There's this another girl in my unit who they do exchange glance and if I asked him he'll give one unnecessary excuses like she is just a friend or she likes me but I don't like her but I know there is more to it. After seeing that the guy don't know what he want, I started seeing someone else and he got to know about him, he was angry telling me he doesn't want to loose me and yet he don't want me, but I had to let him go, I found love again and I'm happy with my new relationship. Till date he is still angry with me, I just had to let him go, back then I tried to give him my time but he was not always there. Currently, I'm happy with my life, my work and also happy for the woman I'm becoming as well. I like the fact that she let go of the guy even if he was still angry at her If she continued,it might mess with her mental health
Yeah.. You're right
Well she knew she didn't love the other boy that it was infatuation and that was enough to let him go rather than her thinking on who to choose. That's abart decision though
Reading this, you must come from Kwara right? I love the story and how it ended for the lady.
Yeah, I'm from Kwara state, what state are you from
Letting go sometimes lifts the burden off the head by 90%.. she decided well
Yeah, I feel the same way, tho the guy is still after her till now
