Interesting life question: Would you hang out with those friends in old age who ignored you in youth because of you not being rich like them?

Definitely not, I don´t make friends with people because of their monetary status, I make friends with people who understand, accept and supports me, like I do with them ;)
I operate on the principle of meritocracy which my definition means that it is based on how deserving a person is (not in a patronising way) and that comes out in their values and how they treat others and I'd like to think I hold the same standards for myself so that I qualify as 'deserving' Even on here I invest more time messaging some at one end of the scale (people including you for example) but don't engage with spammers who give nothing. So simply if they didn't want your company then what's changed. If by any chance such a person has changed then its always worth giving them another go, otherwise no. Friendships sometimes take a strange course. Among my earliest friends two stand out. One seemed quite close and I went to his home for food sometimes and we played together at weekends but at school he dropped me and was frequently quite two faced when in front of his other friends. He'd then pick up at the weekends or in the evenings. The second was frequently disagreeable and we'd often fight (quite violently even at the age of 9), but we also had phases where we liked to hang out, play together and get up to all kinds of mischief. With him what I saw was what i got. He never went behind my back and while I don't advocate this if we had a problem (which was pretty often) we settled it in a fight which was soon forgotten and then we carried on. When I was growing up I thought the first lad was the better friend because we never fought, but a I got older I came to realise that it was the second one who was actually a good friend because at least it was always HONEST.
