These are my turnip jack'o lanterns, I always try to make at least one traditional jack'o lantern every Samhain. Samhain (Halloween) originated in Ireland, pumpkins weren't used until the Irish emigrated to America and brought the Samhain tradition with them and eventually turnips were replaced with pumpkins because they were easy to grow and carve and were much bigger. Personally I think the turnips are much creepier.

We carved lots of pumpkins, unfortunately the weather was too wet and windy to really enjoy the day.

Can someone help identify this animal poop, I'm in Ireland so that narrows it down. The fucker broke into my greenhouse and ate at least 4 suet balls and half a bag of seed, I don't mind because it's helping a wild animal but I would like to know if it is a rat 🐀😨

I thought this was so pretty but I need to get rid of it. I think this is 'petty spurge' and that is highly toxic to humans and animals through touch or by eating it so it is not something I want growing in my garden.

My onions just popped their heads out of the soil, my purple garlic popped up a couple of weeks ago and my turnips are doing great. I'm very relieved, after my spuds failed I lost a bit of confidence and thought everything was going to fail.

I found this lovely little catapillar in my house, when I first picked him up he curled into a ball but quickly got used to us and was running around my palm. After a few mins I brought him out to our hedge, I hope no birds got him.

Finally got my gooseberry bush and black grapes, they don't look like much now but I can't wait to see them in a few months, I wonder will we get fruit off them next year 🤔
