21 poetry Arsen Dedić
DATE PLACE BORN June 28, 1938 Šibenik DIED August 17, 2015 Zagreb Biography Arsen Dedić is a Croatian singer of Serbian origin, composer, poet, arranger, lyricist, singer-songwriter and musician. It was named after Arsenije III Crnojević. Arsen Dedić is the authentic founder of the author's song and literary chanson. Arsen graduated from the Gymnasium and the High School of Music in his native Šibenik. After graduation, in 1957 he went to Zagreb with his uncle. He enrolled in law at the University of Zagreb with the intention of gaining a "solid profession", but soon he became increasingly attracted to art, from sculpture to painting. In parallel with the first two years of law, he is again attending and finishing the last two grades of high school music (although he has already passed them in Šibenik). He also starts writing songs. Due to songs of religious motives, "Mr. Isukrst" and "Sveti Nikola" were brought before the commission and fired from Radio Zagreb, where he worked part-time. In 1959, Dedić enrolled at the Music Academy, which he graduated from in 1964. He played the flute and had his own flute quartet by Arsen Dedić, and performed as a flutist in Zagreb jazz ensembles. During the sixties, Arsen linked his career to festivals, stringing together a series of evergreen compositions and taking home awards with ease. He held his first solo concert in December 1965 in the Belgrade House of Trade Unions. In time, he withdrew from the festival and focused on recording records. For the sake of records for children, applied music, he composes on the lyrics of poets, and his songs are performed by Drago Mlinarec, Bijelo Dugme, Josipa Lisac, Srebrna krila, Zdravko Colic and many others. Also, Arsen Dedić regularly writes lyrics and composes for his wife Gabi Novak, who is often a guest on his records and performances. During his career, Arsen Dedić wrote music for theater, film and TV dramas. In 1968, he acted in the film "Cherry on Tasmajdan" directed by Stole Janković. Arsen Dedić published the first book of poetry Brod u boci in 1971, and it experienced numerous editions and an impressive circulation of eighty thousand copies, which should not be surprising, since the song Ne daj se Ines was accepted by all generations. One of the main reasons why Arsen Dedić won the hearts of audiences throughout the former Yugoslavia is that the lyrics of the songs he performed were not ordinary lyrics but almost always poetry. 1.If Per Head Residents If per capita four good vistas fall then you from your apartment too you glimpse a part of the Mediterranean. If per capita comes half the menu, and if all this is carefully shared, then they ate hungry yesterday. If such is the average salary then a million comes back to you and if morale has fallen average so you also gave your contribution. If they spend on every head so you're not bad either, and all in all (and who can do what to you) your worries are divided and multiplied. If so many live without toil, on average you have your arms crossed, and when the average steals so much you belong to those who do not work. You don't have a car, he has two, then one is yours on average, let there be even more later on the head and so everyone likes it. 2.The Ballad Of Transience When we wandered the world like scattered seed, we talked to ourselves - it's been a while. And not knowing that we are on a lost ship we shouted, "Land!" as we watched the water. When we kissed briefly in the grief of a rainy night, we talked for ourselves that love is yet to come. We set things up, but again not for long. For all places we said - we will determine another. When happiness was born and glory awaited, we thought again - that's not the real thing. When there are no friends, and the days go by slowly, we talked for ourselves to be back soon. Where we gave the most we got less, but we thought - that's it only a temporary condition. When we lost our lives, we said, "Let" and believed firmly to make a flow awaits us. We traveled on when we arrived a long time ago. We just started something, and second we were already. And we stayed that way near the outgoing water, unexplained completely and a bit out of fashion. In the story that began in love without a trace, because we are each home approached the threshold. In temporary order unused things we didn't even feel it yes we are alone, and old. While we still believed that it changes every time, we said to ourselves, "Goodbye." saying, "Good-bye." 3.I clean My Life I clean my life, through the window, the old closet, I clean my space of unnecessary things .. Where did I buy them? Where did I collect them? I clean my life, they take out the garbage on Fridays when hope awakens, and when it is a mild evening .. Where did I buy them? Where did I collect them? I clean my life of those hollow people, which the wind blows through their heads and through their chests .. Where did I buy them? Where did I collect them? I cleanse my life, to save while it is time, a little morning tenderness and bitter night seed .. Where did I buy them? Where did I collect them? I clean my life of the apparent world, from love without a trace, from cheap items .. Where did I buy them? Where did I collect them? I cleanse my life, it is rust and darkness, and I will be left without anything, but silence is better ... 4.A Man Like Me Not for you, he's not a man like me what sad love can only give you, there is nothing in this apartment which could keep you, I have nothing to give but myself - and I would give everything. Not for you, he's not a man like me what a bitter life can only give you, you couldn't live like you used to, and I would like to be alone and that the days pass silently around us. In a house where only vergl still rarely plays, and the bouquet for you is a paper flower, in a room empty, without light, without peace. Now go quietly, leave me there to indulge in sleep again as I used to. You find nothing in this world, it is a life of dreams and foam, I don't understand what you're asking of me when I gave you everything. 5.The Girl From My Land She spent the night on the road which have been around since ancient times our dreams towards the world from Perković via Knin. In her eyes the sea, the salt in her hair sparkles, she doesn't let them break it he abducts and defies. A girl from my area: I taste it on her lips the taste of first kisses, the taste of the first hazelnuts ... She remembers old words sweet colors of homeland he has a desire to heal me a girl from my area. She spent the night on the road on which hopes are extinguished, she stayed up all night in a second-class carriage. In her eyes the sea ... 6.How are you? You will see it on the poster date and my name, in some ugly city accidentally one winter. And you will enter confused, like in old times to hear me sing at the ball of medics. How are you? Like it's impossible, and as if not laughing, live like this live from the song. And you will tell me the treasure, and as if to blame me: "You mean even today do you make a living from this job? " How are you? You're going to ask me to tell you, and I don't really have the will, how was it there, how it was downstairs. I don't remember well anymore, but you claim to be for you wrote: "Don't cry", and sang, "I dream of you." How are you? It's late, the guests are coming, our story is long, what is in us now, it is neither happiness nor sorrow. Is someone waiting for you, let's have a drink with me, and we made love as in memory. How are you? How are you? How are you? 7.Youth You gave, but you stole, and you were unfaithful, no, you didn't give me too much: About youth ... About youth ... About my youth ... That stingy sun that fell, that poor love, short dreams, for memories it's a little: About youth, youth ... Give me a break, and give me strength to say goodbye to her at least, and for my company to finish the song and to drink a glass. Still full of hope, what can I do, we are only halfway there, and this morning there are other young people: About youth ... About youth ... About my youth ... So goodbye, be better with others and give him more tenderness because that's nothing I lose: About youth, youth ... 8.Moderate Cantabile The river brings autumn, the city dies for a long time and in us so many summers: We are orphans of the world. Tell me if you're going tonight be able to leave everything, your house, habits, people, and go and not know where? Let everyone send us away with hatred but dear life is waiting, now is the time, the whole world will be your new home, let them say, "Adventure is it." You will never regret it your belongings, name and city, and in the cold room of the hotel you will be free now. Long desperate rain, fog covers the city, some way closely through the fall the train will take us. 9.I will find consolation I will find solace in terrible sailing through glaciers, rain, through a dark middle ear. It will give me history, the sea in a great bed. Everyone will give it to me, Jurjevska in the deaf age. I will find solace in a piece of meat. He will give me praise or Mozart's Requiem. It will give me a black upturned sky. I'll find her if I kill myself and get drunk. I will find comfort in my daughter's tenderness, in doubt, inaccurate data, in lies. At dawn, on the last night, I will find her and she is looking for me. I will find solace in glorious destinies. I browse the biographies and everyone helps me. It's in the bloody water, the war, in the depths, and besides, they cannot prove my sorrow. I will find solace in music that is made on its own, in poetry when it burns quietly, in a woman. Wherever I want: In infinity, in books, in the nonsense of it, in the mother, the poem. In group love, in singing in a choir. The opera imposes itself on me and offers, and above all in the sea, in the sea ... I will find it with the Gods, the beasts and the people. I will find her: I pull my hand into the bosom of my homeland. In the votive image, sailboats that crazy spring. Here it is in the form of birds moving into desolation. I will find solace, I will find it, and I know I will not. 10.She taught me She taught me wild geese flying again, one woman, almost a child she held out her hand. She taught me this doll, almost nothing - me, a ship without a dock returned to port. I'm closer now, and I thought as I know, everything is deleted, I open the door slowly, I'm closer now, and I thought as I know, pouring rain our case is classic ... She taught me what can I tell her like that, my music and words - voices from the darkness. She taught me pure soul, breath from the sea - me, a professor: She taught me. 11.Don't give up, Ines Don't give up, Ines. Don't give up for years, my Ines, different movements and habits, because your room is still warm; pleasant layout and rare items. You had more taste than me. Your room - beauty - your landlady is in the hospital .. You were always different by the color of the paper of his letters, by the gifts, she followed me the next morning around nine to the station. And the green bus crashes driven by the autumn wind, like a leaf, down a Belgrade slope. I'm in an evening suit and surrounded by views. Don't give up, my youth, Don't give up, Ines. Our acquaintance has been prepared for a long time and then, by chance, with hot brandy, and with just a few sentences a badly disguised desire. Your way, gentlemen, and the faces of peasant women. My simpleton and noblewoman! So your breasts, bed, and my room hung in the air like an orange, like an orange lamp, over the green and blue water of Zagreb; Proleterskih brigada 39, near Grkovic. The sour street from the window and the noise of the evening tram. Beautiful moments of nostalgia, love and poverty, use of shared bathroom and - please if anyone is looking for me ... Don't give up, Ines - here I am, I get up just to turn the plate. Is it rude at a time like this, Mozart, Requiem, Agnus Dei. My favorite start though. I have a million more gentle and rude ones at my disposal data of our youth, who deceives us before her own eyes and steals and abandons us. Don't give up, Ines, tear up the invitation, cancel dinner, cheating on your husband by going to comb your hair, in some better hotel touch me under the table with your knee, my generation, mistress. I know there will be more youth, but no more like this; on average in 1938. I will have no one to stay young with, if you all get old, and that youth will fall hard on me, and yet you will be right, because I am alone on this coast which you left and surrendered reluctantly. And the rain starts again as it is already raining in October on the islands. A sea of lead and a sky of pine. Mixed remote voices: the voice of a mother, friend, daughter, mistress, ship, brother. Quickly picked up laundry before the rain and the light with that whiteness disappeared. A little more walk by the sea and done; Don't give up, Ines. 12.Don't Go Back to Old Loves Don't go back to old loves, while the ancient rains were lilac, they were different, than this fall and winter, Don't go back to old loves. Don't go back to old loves, to bow down, to be comforted, when you remember the old days, when loneliness grows like a tide, Don't go back to old loves. What a criminal in the middle of the dark, leads forever to that end, Old love as a trap, never come back to her. Don't go back to old loves, don't knock on the same door, the fire is put out there, go further where there is heat, Don't go back to old loves. 13.Taste of Salt With the taste of the sea, with the taste of salt on hot lips, in hair and skin, you came out of the water to stretch out next to me, you came here, followed by the sun. In the taste of the sea, in the taste of salt, you carry the bitterness of all those things which I loved a long time ago and lost somewhere, all that lasts far from us. This time and the days that pass lazily they leave a taste of salt on the lips, you jump into the water, so you leave me alone there in the sand and sun to look at you again. And when you come back, I let you fall in the arms of the sand and in my hands, and then I kiss you with the taste of the sea, with salt taste and sleep taste ... 14.Since I Don't Love You My taste returns, as after an illness, I'm scared when I think about where that might have taken me, my smile comes back, you won't recognize me, as if at large, I am learning to eat, to walk again .. Since I don't love you again at night my rain, lost sounds, colors, I don't share them with anyone. Since I don't love you someone on the train is waving at me, it's empty for me, but easier since I don't want you. I asked people how long it would take, can I die, will I repent later, I bothered people, I panicked the light is too strong, just for the eyes to get used to it .. 15.I speak to you again, my love I tell you again my love after the journey and his life deserted, I'm writing you a love song again after songs of experience. I tell you again my love the one who was too little to love, it's here at your door again, and ready to pray again. I tell you again my love, and I began to humiliate and sin brilliantly, almost at the end and almost a sage in the beginning I am here to comfort myself. I tell you again my love on the way back turned into a wound, after the seven seas and their own lands I came to die in your apartment. I tell you again my love I've been somewhere before, now I'm leaving it all to you after happiness, courage and knowledge to give you back your place after the world. I tell you again my love, after bad company, doubt, I stand tonight I'm ready to tell you in front of you like the first time again: I love you! 16.Afternoon Song I'm sending this lazy afternoon thought, gentle and lustful, in that yard where I was looking at you, dear neighbor, 1957, when autumn was like this and when the windows of my parents' house were still pounding in my sleep drowned in the south of Šibenik, in the city that became my hospital, and with my half-awakened head circling the first trams blue and dormant. I address this thought there and I say - a pity. You were my roommate's mistress from 8 to 11 every morning. What were your names: Emma, Selma, Alma, Adela? Did it change your face, eyes and belly? And how I envied you returning from a walk, from 8 to 11 in the morning, with a quarter of bread and milk, in one pale, sandy dairy. It is already my first student September in all colors added a little black and a little dark green. And today I honestly tell you - pity, pity. More likely you are not for such a thing. That yard again. Time for Sunday fishing and your husband leaves. So you're coming to my room even earlier today. About half past six. And I'm just going out; too bad, because my roommate is grumpy so early and I would probably give you more, but I go for a walk. And I walked like that for a year and another… And not to brag to you, there was that. What lands, drinks, what seas! Where I've been, Where I loved everything, and what kind of women, because I can tell you openly. Where I all walked in the rain, in the morning. Some train rotted in the black spring in Poland, near Russia. What a woman I left there, Christ, and the kind that left me in the north drinking some indistinct drink of his people. Far, far away as in dreams. Again someone here in Zagreb, in Jurjevska, so eyes, transparent and precious, of a Czech woman from Brno - Vozderkove- moved forever into my womb. And such snow and everything you need; it was, it was, but that yard where I saw you between two indeterminate trees, black from the moisture that fall, you such an ordinary and debauched housewife, and the smells you left in my room in the 1957/58 seasons, and the following - damage, irreparable damage! 17.Spring Without You Spring started with the wind, as if he knew he divided us and while the others were together, we were not allowed to look at each other. Spring started with rain, with trains arriving late and as the days go by wearily, we greet each other again in secret. And I will remember that time for a long time when we didn't yet know what awaited us, when the forests remained silent, when the blue was carried by the river. And I will remember those hours for a long time which they can no longer return. Spring started with the wind, as if he knew he divided us and while the others were together, we were not allowed to look at each other. Spring began with hope that one day it will be different, that we will not hide from people and without a word we will wander the city. And I will remember that time for a long time when we didn't yet know what awaited us, when the forests remained silent, when the blue was carried by the river. And I will remember those hours for a long time that they can no longer return, he tells me everything in vain I love you, but I myself am still struggling. The real author of this song is Zeljko Sabol. Arsen Dedić wrote the music for these verses. 18.Conversation With The Waiter I come back like every night, everything ended the same way, the last drink is still waiting for me and talk to the waiter .. And a conversation with the waiter .. He doesn't understand those stories, he knows nothing about loneliness, my words do not reach him, smile at me or pour .. smile at me or pour .. And so, he lets me go until morning I lead my monologues, he's just a good bartender, I'm a drunk gentleman. I tell him how I live, exciting, crazy, happy, should I say you're gone and that I am alone like a dog .. and that I am alone like a dog .. There is a lady next to us while I talk to her she's asleep, I want him to come to me but that doesn't solve anything .. And so, he lets me go until morning I lead my monologues, he's just a good bartender, I'm a drunk gentleman. I come back like every night, everything ended the same way, the last drink is still waiting for me and talk to the waiter .. And a conversation with the waiter .. 19.Everything Lead You To Me It all led you to me from a distance, from the darkness it all led you to me from the first steps. Although you didn't say anything, I knew, I knew from these movements and origins everything is the same, everything is like. It all led you to me everything that gives birth to loneliness small coastal towns the same writers and records. When he throws you like a lad night wave to my doorstep it was not difficult to know that you must be dear to me. It all led you to me your eyes and mouth your love dead my bad experiences. We were at the beginning intoxicated with the same wine and when you went the wrong way it all led you to me. 20.It can shine with such radiance It can shine with such brilliance What is past now, What can't be returned, What does anyone know when .. Love our early summers It was a pity for both of them, She is real now, she is holy now When I'm not young anymore .. He reveals his secret to me And the old criminal sits down, I had a great past The whole world was chasing me .. The honor is finally received, Time goes by, the clock strikes, It seems like a victory later Some war lost .. These battles, these wounds, He will discover all beauty When things are old, when they are no longer there .. This morning that bothers you He will give you everything, When tomorrow is yesterday And you will be who knows where .. In vain from tonight You're asking for more Because it has to pass first To know more about her .. It can shine with real shine What is past now, What can't be returned, Which anyone knows when. . 21.It's easy for you It's easy for you to say - I'm going, because you weren't there. It's easy for you to lend a hand, because you haven't left yet. It's easy for you to say goodbye and that it was all a joke. It is easy for you, because you know nothing; you haven't parted yet. It's easy for you, and I already know: when those things happen, everyone leaves a trail when he leaves, and a part of life takes away. It's easy for you to say - go and regrets nothing. It's easy for you, because you're a child - because they didn't leave you.
