Benefits of writing. Hello Readcashers, how are you doing? It has been a while since I visited. Well, a lot of things happened. But I'm back, and I hope I won't vanish into the thin air like I did last time. One of the main reasons that make me shy away from reading cash is that **I have a phobia of writing** and wish for it to go away. Vocabulary But guess what! **The cure for writing phobia is by writing more often**. The more you write, the more confident you become and the easier it becomes for you. Writing is a mental capability that everyone can develop. Today I am going to state and discuss the importance of writing. Writing improves your mental health. Writing is a good exercise for your brain. Just like other muscles in the human body; the human brain has to exercise to make it stronger and better. Writing improves your mental health because the construction of sentences requires thinking and the more think, the more you become a better thinker. Another benefit of writing to your mental health is that its increases your concentration. Writing improves your decision-making skill When you are thinking about something, by simply writing it down would help you discern and decide better. Writing down your thoughts or ideals makes you become a better decision maker because it would be easy for you to weigh the pros and cons of such an idea or thought. Writing makes you logical! Writing improves your communication and descriptive skill. When you become better at writing, then you would be able to write out your thought precisely and be more descriptive. Precise writing helps you explain your ideal or thought to another person: making you a better communicator. Communication is one of the most important things in life without effective communication many things would go wrong. Writing makes us more retentive. When you write your thoughts or ideals down the less likely it is for you to forget them. As you are writing you're subconsciously storing your thoughts or ideals subconsciously in your memory. Writing things on paper or in a notepad serves as a reminder in case you forget. One way to make sure that you end up fulfilling your goals is by writing them down. It is easier to forget when you commit thoughts or ideals or goals to memory alone. Writing increases your vocabulary When you read you come across new words. Checking your dictionary makes you learn those new words and how to use them. But writing makes you flex those new words and makes you get used to them. Without writing there is a high chance you will forget new words. Writing improves your grammar. Consistent writing improves your speaking ability and grammar. When you write you use words to create sentences. It is easier to learn the correct use of words and grammar rules by writing. Writing isn't easy but with practice comes consistency. Sometimes the reason why I don't write is that I feel what I have written feels like shit. But the reality is that even your favorite writer also started from this stage. **How to improve your writing skills** The first way to Improve your writing skills is by writing, without writing there is nothing that can be improved. We can improve our writing by using apps or online tools that can correct our mistakes thereby improving our write-up. We can also improve our writing by taking on writing challenges. Writing challenges is a good way to increase your creativity as challenges have constraints in terms of what you can do and what not; this helps bring out the creativity in us. I think this article is a message to myself and everyone out there who needs to be encouraged to write. 20-08-2022 Thank you for reading.

Willpower *Before I proceed unto today's article I would like to thank everyone who welcomed me on my first article. I am sure it is rare to meet a seven months old newbie like me (lol).* What is harder than the actual work? Well it is the "**mental game**". We all want to change something, improve on a bad habit or form a good one, get healthier, improve our relationships, etc. But doing these isn't easy and the hardest part, is the mental game between our brain or mind. You see our mind and body always try to resist us whenever we want to implement a change. What do we need to overcome this mental game that stops us in our tracks and keeps us in old patterns?. What we all need is "**willpower**". **Willpower is what we need to overcome this mental game that stops us in our tracks and keeps us in old patterns. It's what helps us make those difficult decisions, such as what to eat, whether to go to the gym, or how to organize our day. Willpower is the key ingredient that helps us shape our habits.** What is will power? **Will power is a term used to describe aspects of self-control, goal setting and determination. Will power centers on the idea that people have the ability to control their actions, thoughts, emotions and more.** Will power is the principle that lies behind self-realization and self-improvement goals. When you do what you can to strengthen your willpower, it's easier to overcome obstacles and take control of your life and your destiny. Will power is what gives us the strength to stick to our goals? There are actually many factors that determine your willpower. From your mental health, to your physical health, to your goals. What is the source of willpower? Will power comes from within us, although it can also be contributed by external factors. But the truth is that sometimes no one really knows where it comes from. But one thing that is certain is that we all have it and we all can use it. **Willpower is a lot like a muscle. When you start to feel low on willpower, it means your muscle is getting tired. It can be fatigued from overuse or through simple inactivity.** So if you find yourself feeling unmotivated or unable to stay on course, check in with what body of work you've been doing. If you've been taking on a lot, take some time off to rest and recuperate. **Willpower is not just a trait you are born with. It's also a skill that can be learned and perfected. Will power is a skill that anyone can learn by applying proven principles and the first step is believing in yourself and your abilities.** The key to willpower is to keep things simple. If you're trying to change too many habits at once, it's likely you'll end up failing. Success and willpower "***The secret of success is to have the ability to get things done by turning your imagination into action***." - Paul J Meyer **Successful people have a high degree of self-control and discipline. They are able to make choices and stick with them even when things are tough or not going well**. **People who lack self-control tend to procrastinate or "give up" easily. They give into negative emotions, impulses and distractions.** Effective planning is often the main secret to achieving goals because it helps keep you motivated and moving forward toward success. It may seem counterintuitive, but successful people typically work best when they set extremely high standards for themselves—and then work even harder to meet those standards. It's important not to be overly critical of yourself, but realistic expectations combined with a healthy "tough love" attitude can help you be at your best both personally and professionally. If you love yourself you would want the best of for yourself. The best doesn't come to you by lamenting or complaining about your current situation. Thank you so much for reading I look forward to your engagement.

Seven months old newbie If someone ask me right now "if I am a newbie". Guess what my answer would be? My answer would be no and yes! (Lol). Why no? Well if you check my account profile you would see "*Seven months user*". Yes! It been seven months ago since I joined this blogging community. I was introduced to read cash by a friend and a college colleague of mine. I didn't take it serious. Because unlike my friend I wasn't interested in writing neither do I have passion for writing. I do read books, infact I love reading books but when it comes to writing especially writing something creative or extremely long; I find it hard and it doesn't interest me. Why yes? Well yes I am still a newbie because I haven't made use of this platform apart from the first few days when I joined. I have no article to my name and this article would be my first article. Why I haven't been active. I joined this platform last year October and it was during the end of session holiday. I was free and I had nothing doing when my friend introduced the platform to me; then I decided to give it a trial. After giving it a trial I thought it might be a scam or a waste of time so I left the platform and I got busy doing some other things till school resumed. Despite on my friend encouraging me to be active I was occupied with school activities and I gave no thought to the platfrom, infact I have forgotten about its existence. Some months ago my friend messaged me and told me how the platform has been helpful. So out of curiosity I decided to come back and give it a try and hopefully it will result into something nice. How I overcame my phobia. Unlike some people here I find writing difficult. But I realise that with practice there will be progress so I decided to give it a try and keep my phobia away by typing on the keyboard. Then when I became short of words, I remembered sudden that I'm good in speaking as I talk a lot. I decided to stop typing and rather speak while Google voice help me write out the words. It was quite easier as my speech was translated into words in matter of seconds so it save me the stress of typing and thinking of what to say. Right now I'm talking to my phone and the words are popping in, it seems wonderful I don't know if any of you have tried this before but it seems it's really working well for me. You all know this is my first article and it might not be perfect and there might be some typos, please pardon me. It is really great to be in this community and I hope to be active and published more articles possibly daily. About me I don't have much to say about myself. Well I am an undergraduate in a university. I am a lover of science and a prospective scientist. I like reading motivational books listening to motivational videos like Ted talk and I'm also fascinated by crypto currency and forex hopefully I can be a trader one day (lol) I would like to remain anonymous as much as I can, as I am the shy type. Thank you so much for reading
