I became a dad at the age of 18
Sound interesting? Maybe some of you judge me when you saw the title of this article. But there's a saying that "Don't judge a book by it's cover". For me, that's right, instead of judging it, just read it to gain something interesting and facts that can help you to gain more knowledge that you can use in your daily life. Just keep on reading.
What if I say that I became a father of birds? Yes, that's true, I became a father of different baby birds when I was 18 years old. Those baby birds are given by children here in our place. I became a father of them, I take care of them, I feed them, I pet them. Taking care of baby birds is not easy for me. They really need much attention because they were like a true babies, always chirping (crying), always hungry and very sensitive. I need to observe and visit them all the time, to make sure that they were growing healthy. To make sure also that they were safe from predators like rats.
Caring
Feeding time!
It is the time that I need to feed them because they were hungry. I will prepare some things that I need for feeding:
*Small bowl*
*Small Spoon*
*Water*
*Feeds (Purina)*
First, I need to put an enough amount of feeds on a small bowl. Second, I also pour a small amount of water. Third, I will stir it until the feeds become soft to make the baby birds swallow it easily. And last, scoop an enough amount of feeds and put it into the beak of baby birds. I am feeding them maybe every 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Cleaning their small enclosure/cage
I need to clean their enclosure to make them healthy and also to avoid some insects and parasites. But before that, I will explain to you what's their enclo looks like. Their enclo is like a tub, yes only a tub. I cover some papers on it, and then, I will put some dried leaves to act as their nest and to make them comfortable. When I noticed that their enclo was full of their poop, I immediately clean it to avoid their feather destruction. When they were grow older, I put their enclo in a small cage, to make them stand, perch and play. And also to protect them from predators.
When their feathers are fully developed, I put their cage outside to make them relax, to put their feathers under the sun and to experience the outside world. But the ways of feeding them are something different, sometimes if they were asked for food, I put the feeds into their beak and sometimes, I put all of their food in one bowl and let them eat by their own. That was part of growing, they need to become independent because when they become an adult birds they should know how to find foods by themselves.
Closing Thoughts
Taking care of animals like birds is not easy. They are very sensitive animals, so it needs much attention, time and patience. As they were growing older, they need to become independent and become ready for the life that is waiting for them. They need to fly almost all day, they need to spread their wings under the sky to see the beauty of our world. They need to become ready for their journey. They should be ready to face the challenges in our world.
If you are one who's want to take care an animal like a bird and you didn't have enough time, don't continue, that was too risky for them, that was all about their lives not anything else.
*Thanks for reading!*

Good Old Days
Do you remember the days wherein technologies are not the same as today? The days that most of us playing outside with our friends? Well, just sit, relax and take time to read this article and let us all remember our **Good old days**.
Elementary days
I wake up early in the morning to prepare myself in my studies, I am on elementary that time. I am going to school before 8:00 am for our flag raising ceremony. My allowance when I am elementary is Php. 20.00 per day, because our house is near the school. So Php. 20.00 is already enough for my whole day classes. 5 *pesos* is for our soup which is sometimes *lugaw* (porridge), *champoorado*, *sopas* and many more. The remaining 15 *pesos* is for my snack in afternoon, I only use 5 *pesos* which can buy 3 *pesos palamig* and 2 *pesos* fishball. And I saved the excess 10 *pesos*. That was really good for me that time. After class, I am going home to take some rest to prepare myself to do my assignments, because my mother didn't allow me to go outside and play with my friends if my assignments didn't finished yet. So I used it as a motivation to finish my homework. If I'm already done, my mother allow me to play with my friends. These days are the moments which I can say unforgettable when I am a little kid. My friends and I play different games in afternoon like basketball, *patintero, taya-tayaan*, hide and seek, baseball and many more. Those games are really exciting and gave happiness and contentment to us. There are times also that my friends and I go to the forest to find some fruits, they climbing up on trees and picking up different kinds of fruits. After that, we eat those fruits with smile on our faces.
Spider Month
When the seasons of spider came, my friends and I met in one place to discuss our plan to hunt spiders and to discuss the things that we need for hunting. When the night comes up, we went to the forest wearing jogging pants and long sleeves to protect ourselves from itchiness. Flashlight, bag, bottled water and the houses of spiders made of woods or box of matches. These are the things that we need in hunting. As the night becomes deeper and deeper, there's a bigger chance that we can caught spiders. When we are done hunting we go home and take a rest. When there are no classes in the morning many of us make the spider fight in thin woods or in a *ting-ting* (a piece of broom). Lately, I read some post in facebook that Philippines has real **Pokemons (anime TV series)**, and those are spiders, because many Filipinos hunt spider then make it fight.
Closing Thoughts
I'm really sure that most of us experienced the so called **Good old days**. I'm really sure that most of you really missed the joyful events when you were young, the memories that we can't forget, the memories that make us feel happy when we remember it and the memories that make us smile. But sad to say, we can't go back to the past to experience again those events, but it will stay in our hearts and mind. The only thing that we can do is to treasure it and tell it to others. And make them realize that our world is such a magical place that consists of different wonderful stories.
How about you? Can you tell us the story of your childhood or so called **Good old days**? Leave it below!

Rotate and Amaze
Most of us loves solving puzzles, and I'm really sure that most of you saw a Rubik's cube solved and played by your fellow, neighbors, classmates, friends, relatives and etc. Have you ever try to solve it? Have you ever try to turn the different sides of Rubik's cube?
**First, what is Rubik's cube?**
*The Rubik's Cube is a 3-D combination puzzle invented in 1974[2][3] by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Ernő Rubik. Originally called the Magic Cube,[4] the puzzle was licensed by Rubik to be sold by Ideal Toy Corp. in 1980[5] via businessman Tibor Laczi and Seven Towns founder Tom Kremer.[6] Rubik's Cube won the 1980 German Game of the Year special award for Best Puzzle. As of January 2009, 350 million cubes had been sold worldwide,[7][8][needs update] making it the world's top-selling puzzle game.[9][10] It is widely considered to be the world's best-selling toy.[11]*

I'm not sure but, I think that most of us really amazed when we see others solved a 3 by 3 (3x3) Rubik's cube. Especially when we are at young age, we think that those people who can solve that one cube with different colors are the intelligent persons only. But believe me, all of us can solve that cube. We need only determination and willingness to learn, but we should use also our mind to solve it
It all start when our family was on a vacation on our relatives at Batangas, my brother saw a child continuously rotating and turning the rubiks cube side by side. And he was curious at that time. Our uncle said that he knows how to solve that puzzled cube, and we asked him if hr can teach us on how to do it. He didn't think twice, and he said "yes". If you are willing to learn, you probably do it in a short period of time, you also need a determination. You can do it in a short period of time but make sure you are always practicing it.
Our uncle start teaching us when my brother bought a Rubik's cube in a store. Our uncle used the old method to solve that puzzle.
Old method
****1st step****
First step is we should arrange the first side of the cube, its side must in a particular color and position also, to make it solved perfectly.
****2nd step****
After we solved the first face of the cube, we will slowly arrange the second layer of the cube this is the middle part and the side part of the puzzle. We should use our mind on how we put those pieces on their positions accordingly.
****3rd step****
If the second layer of the puzzle was solved, we will go the last layer which is we need some algorithms. If we do those algorithms we finally solved the rubiks cube.
What Is an Algorithm?
*An algorithm is a finite list of instructions, most often used in solving problems or performing tasks. You may have heard the term used in some fancy context about a genius using an algorithm to do something highly complex, usually in programming. Indeed, you've most likely heard the term used to explain most things related to computer processes. However, what would you say if I was to tell you that there is a very good chance that you, yourself, have followed an algorithm? You may have followed some algorithms hundreds or thousands of times!*

We are so happy when we solved the puzzle with the help of our uncle. We thank him a lot because he teach us to solve and play that kind of puzzle. After vacation, school classes started, I brought my Rubik's cube in our room. I solve it every time and my classmates amazed when I solved it. They asked me if I can teach them, and I answer yes. Rubik's cube became popular on our school, we can see students everywhere like canteen, rooms and etc. solving and playing Rubik's cube. And I'm so happy for that.
As time goes by, i met a friend who play Rubik's cube, but wait, maybe he can do it in only a minute. Amazing. So I asked him hoe to do that and he introduce me the **CFOP** method. **CROSS, FIRST 2 LAYER, OLL and PLL.**
CFOP METHOD
*The CFOP method (Cross – F2L – OLL – PLL), sometimes known as the Fridrich method, is one of the most commonly used methods in speedsolving a 3×3×3 Rubik's Cube. This method was first developed in the early 1980s combining innovations by a number of speed cubers.*

For me, that was a really amazing method to solve a rubiks cube, I solve the puzzle in a short period of time.
****1st step****
First step is we should create a **CROSS** on the first layer of the cube.
****2nd step****
After the CROSS was created, we will solve the **First 2 layer** of the cube. The first layer and the second layer was solved together in this step. Imagine, in a short period of time, the two layer of puzzle was solved.
****3rd Step****
After the first and second layer was solved, we will go to the **OLL** and **PLL** it is the time to solve the last layer. How can we do that? There are lot of algorithms to solve the last layer. We should use our mind to memorize the patterns and the algorithms that we need to use in every figure(pattern) of the Rubik's cube. After we do that, the cube was finally solved.
I am very thankful to my friend because he introduce me the CFOP METHOD.
**What are you waiting for?, its your turn to learn to solve a Rubik's Cube.**

Determination, motivation and hard work. What's the result?
While you are travelling in your daily life, have you seen some buildings, creeks, drainages that is under construction? Did you know the essential things that builds them? Those are not the raw materials that you can see on their appearance, those are determination, motivation and hard work.
****Determination****
*Determination is a positive emotional feeling that involves persevering towards a difficult goal in spite of obstacles.[1][2] Determination occurs prior to goal attainment and serves to motivate behavior that will help achieve one's goal.*
**Source:** https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Determination
****Motivation****
*Motivation is the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. It is what causes you to act, whether it is getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge.*

****Hard work****
*Working hard to accomplish something; a great deal of effort;*

Yes, those are the determination, motivation and hard work of the construction workers that almost work all day to put food on their table, to get some financial assistance, to support education, to buy some needs and wants, to support all their needs and more.
At the age of 18, I work as a temporary construction worker here in our place. Our project is to fix the other creek here in our barangay and make it concrete.
I wake up early in the morning and my mother prepare plenty of food as my breakfast to strengthen my body. After an hour, I will go to the construction site, while I walk by myself I prepare myself to work 8 hours a day. When all of us arrived, this is the time that the 8 hours of work are gradually decreasing. TIME TO WORK.
Some of our work here is to lift up some sack of sand and put it in one place or maybe use some cart to do it. It is not easy, especially when the sand is wet. It is very heavy. We also do it in some sack of cement which is heavier than the sack of sand. Lifting up a cement by my own is not easy, I need a buddy or friend that can help me to do it. After we put the sack of sands and cements in specific place, we will put it in a container with an exact amount of water and we will mix it. Those are not the only things that we are doing in the construction site. There are many things that we can do. Lifting up some huge rocks and place it in a specific place, some of our co-workers arrange it to make it sturdy. We dig ground to collect small stones that is also needed to make the side part of the creek more stronger. Sometimes, I also got wound on my foot, and while I am working I feel very badly because of it. After work, I felt tiredness every second. My earnings in one day is Php. 300. Yes, 300 pesos after 8 hours of being tired, but after a few days I earned 1000+ pesos, and that was very essential for me as a teenager. Even working is very hard I am very determined and motivated.
****According to the study****
**Self-determination theory.**
Edward L Deci, Richard M Ryan
sage publications ltd, 2012
*Self-determination theory (SDT) is an empirically derived theory of human motivation and personality in social contexts that differentiates motivation in terms of being autonomous and controlled. Work leading to the theory began with experiments examining the effects of extrinsic rewards on intrinsic motivation.*
