Strong Sister
While I was in a queue to buy food, I saw a little girl with her brother on the corner of the street. The little girl was holding a plastic bag on her left hand while grabbing her brother’s head by her right hand.
When I was young, I did remember a time when my mom left me in the corner of a supermarket to get something somewhere. I almost cried because I got terrified when I noticed many people were passing by and staring at me. For a little child, I know that such a scenario is a nightmare.
That is why when I saw them, I really felt bad about their situation, for not having their parent/s on their side. It was more heartbreaking though when I saw her touching/guarding her little brother’s head while the latter was playing on the dirty ground. I guess it was her way to keep her little brother away from fast-moving vehicles. Unlike me when I was in her shoes, she did not cry and I really thought that she stayed strong for her brother. Definitely, it was a sibling’s love initiated by a loving sister. Since I have been touched by the moment, I took my camera out and pointed on them to take photos. When the little girl saw it, she stared at me and gave a hearty smile looking through the camera. Looking at her, I sensed the positivity on her smile despite being homeless. A bit confused but I decided to shoot anyway. After three consecutive shots, I put my camera back and waited for my turn in the queue to buy food. When I was about to leave, a woman walked towards them from the other side of the road and gave them food. I realized they were not homeless because the woman seemed to be their mother. So, I sighed with relief and thanked God the kids have a family.
Let's Keep The Photography Community Alive!

One of the most lifeless community on read cash is the photography community. Maybe out of the 10 people blogging on read cash, only 1 is using and posting on the photography community. Blogging is basically creating a website-based online diary or journal that features from personal to political and can concentrate on one particular subject or a whole range of topics. Choosing what to blog is one of the hardest decisions a person could do. And creating a **quality blog** is the hardest challenge in building a blog. We acknowledge that our ranking on google helps with quality content, hence the need to sustain it. However, I am afraid that the photography community is one that doesn't help the platform grow.
**Here are 3 reasons why some photography blogs are considered low-quality blogs/contents**.
Showing every photo you have taken.
Posting other people's photos or google photos without proper accreditation.
Posting a photo with just a title and no description.
**A PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG CAN BE QUALITY CONTENT, ALL IT NEEDS IS CREATIVITY.**
**POST QUALITY PHOTOS**
You should not want your viewers to see your worst photos and call your blog a "trash". Viewers are very picky. Making sure resolution, framing, and composition and effective editing are employed into your photos allow you to create attractive and meaningful content.
**SHOW JUST YOUR BEST**
Your blog isn't a place for showing every single photo you ever took. Rather, it is a place to present your very best photos from every session, or the very best content from your portfolio.
**TELL SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR PHOTO**
Like on YouTube, adding a description, as well as catchy and meaningful titles will not only make it quality content, but also attract and hook your audiences to follow you. This will give your readers a piece of information about your photos. Three to five sentences is not bad, you will just have to be creative. Should you do more than that? Well, it is up to you, the goal of the image description is to provide details about your photo.
Hence, Should You Have A Photography Blog?
Hoping that your answer by now is a big yes, but I'll tell you why.
If you are a commercial photographer, you certainly should have a blog. It is perfect for SEO, promotion, word of mouth promoting, engaging your past, current and potential customers, and showcasing your work. Furthermore, the company is personal again, and a blog helps you to take advantage of this move.
What if it is just your hobby then? Nothing could be better than a blog to showcase your passion for everyone. As you know people will be your biggest source of support. So who knows? Maybe somebody will come across your work and recruit you for your unique vision! Eventually, your passion could be your ticket in the commercial world.

I was waiting for my friend outside the mall and I noticed this man with a rosary around his neck sitting in the corner begging for money. A lot of people passed through him without even giving a small amount of money. So, I decided to go to him and handed him a little bit of money. I talked to him and said, “this is for your brother”. But I noticed he was not looking at me while I was talking to him. While looking at him, I saw his eyes, there was something wrong with it. And I found out he’s blind.
I realized that people around him seemed to be blind too. He may not see them because he has impaired eyes but people around him have an unkind heart for them not to see him reaching out for help.
So the question is...
Who’s going to help? Are you willing to help?
Why Genetic Engineering is a Threat to Humanity?
Genetic Engineering, simply, is the alteration of an organism's genetic, or hereditary, material to eliminate undesirable characteristics or to provide fascinating new ones. It has been always the marker of a new age. We have increased the plant and animal production, diagnosing and treating disease condition, medical treatment improvement along with production of vaccines and other beneficial drugs. However, over the past decades, a considerable amount of research has challenged this process by showing that genetic engineering despite its benefits are not without its peril. Genetic modification development raises serious issues in (1) ethical, moral, and social issues, (2) safeness (3) possibly creating a new disease that cannot be reversed. I will discuss these in turn, and ultimately argue that Genetic Engineering is a threat to humanity and should not be used for clinical and/or reproductive purposes.
Genetic modification is a serious ethical problem. “Playing God”-- once making an attempt to modify the law of nature, one tries to act as a God that's clearly not the duty of society, is constantly referred to as a strong argument against genetic modification. In relation to Supreme authorship, it absolutely states that it is immoral to reconstruct something, which God made. Moreover, Genetic modification clearly disrespect our ethical and legal principles such as autonomy, privacy, and equity. Autonomy—informed consent can simply be defined as self-determination, self-rule, or self-governance. Embryos for example, genetic engineering clearly disrespect this principle as it is impossible to obtain informed consent for gene intervention because the patients affected by the edits are the embryo. However, in particular cases have held that competent adults have the right to choose whether to undertake medical interventions or not. Nevertheless, before people make such a choice, they have a right to be informed of facts that might be material to their decision. Again, it is impossible to obtain autonomy since until now genetic intervention’s future effects is unknown. Privacy -- a state or condition of limited access to a person. The failure to obtain autonomy is also a failure to obtain privacy. Equity-- justice, fairness, and equity. Genetic modification causes social problems, separation of altered and unaltered humans and mistreatment of cloned humans, thus, causes psychological problems to the offspring or person.
We are aware that pre-clinical testing of human genetic engineering are conducted to animals like mice, chick and cows. So it does not mean that it works for the animals it will works also for humans, right? The possibility of off-target effects (edit in the wrong place) and mosaicism (when some cells do not adopt causing two or more genetically different sets of cells), safety is the primary concern for humans. There is something called *epistasis—*simply the interaction between the genes, once genetic makeup or DNA is altered it will be ruined. Because it does not mean that you plucked out a defective gene and insert a good one other is will not be affected. Furthermore, Ian Wilmut the designer of Dolly says, if the mutation occur, if the unexpected occur to the person or thing you are trying to help, you cannot reverse it. Since the future effects of gene modification is unknown, it is a threat and risky. Dolly, for example, first mammal cloned from an adult somatic cell, developed arthritis, abnormal metabolism and locked knee syndrome, which could be found on humans. Moreover, considerable amount of researchers generally agree that until gene modification is proven safe through research, it should not be used for clinical and/or reproductive purposes. Are you willing to take the risk of being abnormal despite the procedures failure in pre-clinical test?
Since gene intervention allows us to alter genes in order to make new substances, one serious problems that genetic modification causes is that it could possibly produce a new diseases which nature cannot conquer. Again, the repercussion of gene modification are still unknown it may lead to another health condition or disease to human. The possibility of creating a monster with the use of genetic engineering that cannot be controlled and is therefore, morally wrong.
Genetic engineering is a powerful process, which makes many people including scientists forget about any precautions. However, it causes unethical, immoral and social problems occurrences in the society. Moreover, it causes new serious health problems which nature cannot conquer. Once again, genetic engineering is a threat to humanity and should not be used for clinical/or reproductive purposes.
Why Does Education Still Hold Importance During This Pandemic Time?
While waiting for dinner, I noticed this foreign student seated in the school hallway and studying in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines. In this modern era, many people may agree that it was unusual nowadays because of the health crisis, wherein all classes were suspended, someone would definitely choose an iPad or tablet over a book if you asked him or her to choose one or stay at home with their family doing nothing. Despite the presence of Filipino people around him and with this health crisis, he kept on studying as if he was completely alone and everything is normal.
Why did this man keep studying during this pandemic?
I have contemplated and realized the importance of education at all times and why learning must not be stopped during this pandemic period.
The single most important legacy parents have to their children is education. In fact, it is labeled a treasure that no one else can claim for ourselves. Come to think of it, this is also the ancestral line of our ancestors in our youth, from that time to the present. Historically, it is worth remembering the lip and searching of the mind of our national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal is the words, "Youth is the hope of the people". If we were to study these words carefully, what would Rizal mean? As a summary of my research into Rizal's life, I have found that he wants Filipinos to absorb the hardships of life and feels that it can only be achieved if every Filipino can learn. He stood firm in his belief that education is the key to enduring poverty for the Filipino people. Aside from Rizal, some influential people have been saying these words over and over again. Therefore, it is very important that education is part of human life.
Education is important to each individual because it depends on his or her future and what his or her destiny will be for the rest of his or her life. After all, when we are young we know that this is the most important part of our lives. From our day-to-day work is education coupled with the realization that it is part of our lives. As we grow older, our minds and knowledge expand and expand. We learn to recognize ourselves as well as things that are bad or good. We begin to socialize with other people or people we meet in school. We treat our teachers and classmates as family members. The knowledge we learn in school opens our minds about the things that are happening around us and gives us learning. Education also opens the way to our mind and heart to know our rights and its associated responsibilities. When one is educated it can correct the false beliefs that result from ignorance. Just like a seed of any kind, a learned man everywhere is willing to live. Even in foreign lands, it can stand and be guided by all forms of life.
It is undeniable that education plays a major role in our lives. One goal of education is to have knowledge of things and information now, in the future. It is the mechanism by which one's thoughts, feelings, and interactions are formed. Education is the way for a person to gain knowledge of his or her life, personality, and community. It is the setting of thoughts toward a successful world that everyone needs in order to take full advantage of the world and to realize its goals. Second, to God, education is effective against adversity. This is the unique weapon that a person can protect against the stress of life. Human education is important because it is the root of a comfortable life. Education equals a miraculous key, bridge, ladder, and lifelong weapon that each person can use in his or her journey to every door of opportunity.
Indeed, the contribution of education to human life cannot be underestimated. In the kind of society we live in today, the ignorant and disadvantaged are defeated. It is not enough to just go to school and learn simple reading and writing. The new kind of education in the new millennium is that we have a completed course to keep pace with the progressive technology used in our modern economies. In the search for a job, the first question is the level of our education. Unfinished courses are difficult because we are always left out in any field. Because of this, low-wage jobs are usually given to us. In dealing with the realities of life, one's ability, hard work, and physical strength are not enough. We also need intelligence to fully understand the situation in which we live and where we live.
In conclusion, I want to emphasize that preparing for the future by achieving a good education is the best way to ensure a comfortable life. And achieving success must be accompanied by a solid determination, self-confidence, faith in God, and the many other obstacles we must take to achieve the good tomorrow.
