My guess is that you havn't played many decent Zangiefs or >you're so damn good that every one else seems to suck to you. Okay, I'm gonna be level headed about this discussion. Personally, I find that many people don't give Adon the credit I feel he deserves, but I realize it's a matter of personal opinion so why get angry over it? But as for the situation at hand... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the concept of turtling is that you hang back, chip off blocked damage when possible, and strike with oppurtunistic attacks such as repeated sweeps? Okay, addhearing to that concept and putting it against what the previous poster stated, I can't see as to why you accussed him of turtling. I agree that repeatedly using Adon's over-bearing C. RH sucks, but he never said that he did. His statement was that he defeated Zan players with normals instead of turtling with his specials. Although he mentioned the Jutting kick, I don't believe he meant that usage as a constant one, just on of many tools. Now, it's my experience with Adon vs. Zan that many players will turtle, and in that regard you are correct. But I don't think it's fair to say Adon has to turle in order to win. I think the seperation comes when you consider Zan's main strength of his SPD. It's only natural to want to hang back and keep out of the max distance for the SPD; I can't see why you'd want to give your opponent an edge over you. So it might seem that some Adon players are turtling, but can't say I whole-heartedly agree. Now, although I'll admit that locally we have a ton of FB-DP players, and the rest of the mix is entirerly to sporadic to make and large analysis against a single character, we do have one or two decent Zan players (they seem to be Sodom players you just like a change of pace. I can't really say, I've never really played either character myself to say for sure...). On the occassions that I have come across these Giefers, I've had no problems with maintaining an offensive stance with them. My general strategy is this; no local Zan player makes the first move, so I usually jump in with a Forward followed by a C. Strong. If they don't connect, I pause for a second, then sweep. It seems that Zan players take their chances when in close, so the sweep almost always gets them. (And if it doesn't I end up paying for it....) From their it depends on the players reaction to getting taken down first. If they get aggressive, I try and fake them out with a distance Top-down elbow into a J.T. and cross them up whenever possible. If they start to turtle, I give them a few hits and open up with J.K.-into C. Strong-into S. Rh. attacks. The Jutting Kick really only comes into play when I don't have the chance to J.Kn them. Personally, I like to believe the strongest way to nail Zan is with a fake-out J.T, which usually gets them to do a Lariat. While they are stuck in that, Level 3 Jaguar Revolvers generally do the job well, though a CC never hurts. > Anyways, this is my experiance with this match. If you wish to discuss this further, I'd be more than happy to. E-mail me, if you wish, sometimes my news-server is a little unreliable.
