Ridge Racer was the first in a long series of arcade and home console racing games. The original arcade game was released late in 1993 and the PlayStation port followed about a year later and was one of the launch titles for that system in Japan. None of the photos in this set are labeled or dated but it looks like another set of photos of buildings under various stages of construction from the early 1980s. The third photo is the most interesting to me and shows the interior of an office. It would be neat if there were an old CP/M or early DOS computer around but the closest thing is a typewriter. Games for Windows resulted when Microsoft purchased Computer Gaming World. It was sad to see CGW go but Games for Windows seemed to keep up the same high standards. Sadly, it didn't last very long. Commodore published a number of official publications over the years with Commodore Magazine being the final one. It covered the Commodore 64, Commodore 128 and Amiga. They did a pretty good job covering all three systems as opposed to reducing Commodore 8-bit coverage in favor of the Amiga. While it was always my impression that Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu was better known on the TurboGrafx-16, it was in fact released a year earlier, in 1990, for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Needless to say, the NES release was not quite as graphically impressive as the TG-16 release. Info is a magazine that was dedicated to Commodore computers and was produced using home computer equipment (the Commodore 64/128 and later the Amiga) and was remarkably successful for an independent publication. This post includes the contents of DM0913.DOC which is dated September 13th, 1985. I believe that ‘DM’ in this case stands for Direct Mail which appears to have been Delphi’s version of e-mail. This document contains several such emails from September 10th and 11th, 1985. Streets of Rage 2 is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up game that was originally released for the Sega Genesis in 1992 and was also ported to the Sega Master System and Game Gear (and other systems later on). It is generally considered to be the best in the series, one of the best games on the Genesis, and even one of the best games of all time. #retrogaming #GameGear

All of the photos in this set were processed in the early 1970s and were probably taken at that time. I would argue that I'm pretty passionate about gaming despite the fact that I don't do it much these days (limited time, different priorities). None of the slides in this set were labeled or dated. At least three out of four appear to have been taken on Christmas morning (not 100% sure about the one with the cat). My best guess is that these photos are from close to 1970. The TV looks older than that but there's no reason bo believe it is a brand new TV. Galerians is a survival horror game that was released in 2000 for the PlayStation (PS1). In look and feel, it is similar to Resident Evil. However, there are different game play mechanics that make it somewhat unique. First, instead of having guns, you have psychic powers.
