We had a nationwide warning day today with a test alarm. And it worked well in contrast to an epic fail two years ago. Back then, the Deaf Association tweeted: We didn't hear anything! At 11 am, a shrill warning tone sounded from every phone in the area at maximum volume. The warning got out via cell broadcast to every phone, whether online or not. Somehow it's good to know you're getting a message before the end of the world.

They tested something like that when Trump was president but I didn't get the text message and was left alone to die of nuclear damnation. :-(
Some "older" phones also didn't receive it here. Some also said, people older than 50 are not worth to get a warning. But no worries, I can tell you when it starts.

No I'm not there. And we don't have a similar system. It just rings alarms that the German government wouldn't do this without a reason. I hope it's just a precaution event
We had a big river flood some years ago a no working warning system. So they decided to improve the situation.
Orwell sends his regards. Here, the "test alarm" did not work, and I have not yet found anyone who could explain why. However, no one seems to care either.
Ich hatte in dem Moment auch ein 1984-Gefühl. Der Unterschied ist nur, dass wir mit der verwendeten Übertragungstechnik weder gefilmt werden können, noch das Ton ohne eine ausgehende Verbindung übertragen wird. Es ist halt eher eine Art brutale Pushnachricht. Daher käme ich schon damit klar, wenn mich die Technik vor einer Flut oder Erdbeben warnt.
