Today I had some time for nostalgia and took a look at the photos from my South American trip. The weeks in Ecuador were some of the most impressive experiences in my life. One of the towns I visited is Baños de Agua Santa at 1800m altitude at the foot of the active volcano Tungurahua. The mountains are not only breathtaking because of the altitude and the constant possibility of a volcanic eruption gives a certain permanent creepiness. The photos show the city from above during the ascent to the statue of the Holy Virgin.
