Here's what I say quietly so the admins don't hear it: After more than a year, it can be liberating not to think about noise for a few hours and to stop trying to keep up with every new noise and to constantly "produce" new content. After last year's blackbird nest was unfortunately cleaned out by unknown wild beasts, this year wild ducks decided to lay an egg in my parents' garden for the first time. The only question is whether they will get used to the human presence or retreat. The photo was sent by my mum, but unfortunately the ducks had already flown away. I will try to get some pictures of the pair in the next few days.

A sight that has become rare! When I picked up my son from the station today, the historic steam train was just about to depart. You can't imagine the deafening noise of this old engine when it starts moving. Despite the pollution, I think it's good that steam locomotives still run from time to time. They are like sunsets or rainbows, I always have to smile a little when I see them.

This monster has taken up residence in my neighbourhood and started building nests in formerly green open spaces. Nests for the rich and beautiful, which then lead to rising rents for all other residents. And the construction company has the cheek to light up the collos all night and pollute the area with lights, as if the construction noise and dirt during the day weren't enough. It's not a bad photo opportunity. But I don't want the bedroom on this site.

Since the weather was tolerable for once yesterday, I took the opportunity to spend the day with a friend and his dogs by the river. Nice surroundings, small castles, paddle steamers and a grinning vineyard. A good place to recharge your batteries.

Not far from the relaxing spot from my last post, a new bridge, whose construction was controversially discussed, spans the valley with brute aesthetics. It is called "Waldschlößchenbrücke". Have fun pronouncing that! One can argue whether it is beautiful or not, but it was the reason for the loss of the title of Unesco World Heritage Site. Why aren't there dead animals lying around everywhere? Because nature takes care. Yes, I know, a dead earthworm eaten by ants is not exactly eye candy. There is a witch's fire at the river today, Walpurgis Night. Unfortunately, the event is no longer as enchanted and artistic as it was years ago, but it was still worth a little evening excursion.
