Maiden tower in Baku old city is a structure still intact from 12th century. Before visiting Azerbijan, I didn’t know that Baku holds so much historical significance. The tower was used as a watch tower and is located at the corner of the city walls. Most of the walls are broken but it can be still seen that it used to be nicely fortified city 😉
