First day of the new year and I start my day with a cup of tea 😉. It rained nicely in Qatar after almost 3 years and the weather has become so pleasant. Since it is Saturday and weekend, I slept nice and now I am out and about to get some caffeine in my system 😉😍 I hope this new year brings blessings and prosperity to all of us

It has been more than three years without any kind of rain in Qatar and I am so happy so see such clouds and overcast weather that came since last night. It rained heavily last night and was much fun to enjoy. As per weather forecast the weather is going to be like that for the coming two three more days 😍. Since it is usually too much sun in the Middle East, the people here love it when they see clouds 😊

One of the regions of Azerbijan that I visited durjng my trip is Quba. It is on the northern side and usually has snowy peaks with much cooler weather then the city. Snapped this shot on the way and you can see the peaks in the middle of the road

So yesterday I was invited for dinner at one of the most posh and fine dining Indian restaurants in Qatar. The Resturant is called Iksha360 and is located at top floor of one of the highest towers in Qatar and provides 360 view of the surroundings towers 😉. Anyways the food was not that exceptional but I took this opportunity to try some food photography 😉

So yesterday out of sudden my internet stopped working and till now I am not able to figure out what exactly happened 😵💫. Life without internet is very hard specially if you have a smart TV and it needs wifi for Netflix. Anyways I am at work now trying to download the manual for my router and checking if I am doing anything wrong or missing any steps. So far looks like I was right and the issues might be the cable connection

Baku still has a restored part of old city called “iche sheher” which literally translates to old city 😉😅 The streets are quite narrow and they give a vibe of olden days. I spent one whole day roaming around in old town and tried to live like a true Azeri 😍

About last night 😉 I went to see a friend and have dinner with them at their residence. They live in the Pearl Qatar where I used to have my apartment as well. The building in the left is where there are many posh restaurants and we had dinner there. And the building on the right , the smaller one is where my friend has their apartment 😉. So convenient 😅

Maiden tower in Baku old city is a structure still intact from 12th century. Before visiting Azerbijan, I didn’t know that Baku holds so much historical significance. The tower was used as a watch tower and is located at the corner of the city walls. Most of the walls are broken but it can be still seen that it used to be nicely fortified city 😉

This is the view once you enter Baku old city through the old gates 😍. Many of the structures in old city are based on restored old buildings and are given a more European touch. Even from this far you can feel that the streets are quite narrow and twisting 😅

Yarandag is a place in Azerbijan where a mountain is on fire since thousands of year. The word Yarandag translates to “ flaming mountain” and due to some methane gas leakage it has been burning ever since it was discovered. Not it was been made into a tourist attraction where people pay to see it 😉😊

There is a but if crisis happening here in Qatar as there is a sudden spike kn cases plus PCR results are taking upto three days. Early morning sunrise on a cold winter day 😍. I had some activities at work that needed to be finished before the general staff gets to the office. I has to reach work earlier and managed to snap this one the way. So I was at the official Adidas store earlier today and they had this three mask pack for 30 riyals which is around 10 dollars. I got a pack and to my surprise it is one of the most comfortable mask I have used throughout the pandemic. I wore it to snap this shot now kept it for occasional use as it is washable and reusable 😉

One of the of the popular places that tourists visit in Baku is the Mud Volcanos 😉. So around an hour drive from the centre of the city is this area in the mountains where they have many small volcanoes that erupt with mud😊. The view of the area becomes really nice because it is usually very peaceful in that area and sometimes people also take bath in bigger volcanoes as they are knows to be good for skin health

Nit a good start of the morning for me. Just got up to get ready for work and when I went for a shower there was no water 🥲. went on the roof top and the water pump was malfunctioning. Our Sri Lankan colleague wanted to treat us with something traditional from Sri lanka but sadly none of the good Resturanta that he goes to deliver to our office. So I finally managed to stake my first DOT on Kucoin at an annual yield of 7.73 percent. The transfer free from Poloniex to Kucoin was around 0.1 DOT so I converted it into TRX and then transferred to kucoin and then converted it back to DOT so I can stake it. Naturkoy in Turkey also has many small waterfalls spread around the park. Best part about these waterfalls is that they are surrounded by all greenery around them so the view and the vibe around them is truly exceptional. So this beautiful view point is a place around an hour drive from central Istanbul in Turkey and is usually included in all the trips that tourist take when the opt to go and see the famous Spanca lake. If you ask me, the view points on the way to Spanca lake are way more enjoyable than the actual lake it self and this shot is an example of that 😍

As per Qatar metrology department, the coldest week of this winter is here already. I know from the attached photo it is a normal temperature for many of you there but in Doha since winters are always windy, the real feel of the weather is usually 2 to 4 degrees lower than what it shows.🥶🥶 Being a desert Qatar hardly reaches temperatures below 15 degrees but this winter we are expecting it to drop below 10 as well🥶

Once upon a time in a land far far away 😜😍 Missing my time in Santorini Greece back in 2015 when I went there as part of my tour of Europe. So one of the place I visited during my trip to Azerbijan is called Gobustan. It is an ancient place that has been turned into a museum and it is around 1 hour drive from Baku. The place seems like out of this world as the terrain is so much like mars 😅

I was supposed to be flying to London to meet my final year project supervisor for my EMBA next week but due fo Covid the meeting has been made over MS Teams 😅 So, since I won’t be flying to UK until at least for another couple of months, I thought of sharing a photo of tower bridge that I snapped back in October 2018 😍. This is a shot of Oxford Street in London which is considered a shopping heaven for the British people . It has almost all the big brands and it is not only for rich because there are cheap brands also available to shop. Qatar is a really beautiful country and it has grown exponentially in the past 10 to 15 years. Being born here, I remember how it was just a plain land and now stands one of the most beautiful skyline in the world. The only thing it lacks is parks and green spaces as it naturally is a desert 😊

I am at site again today as I had to check some power requirements that go for my IT equipment. Since it is being delivered in phases, the other side of the building as you’re not ready. One good thing the project manager decided to do is put a very nice banner to covers the other side of the building and this is the image he used. This is our current office building. I snapped this wide angle shot a while ago as part of an office marketing project which did not go ahead as planned. The building looks in mint condition and as it is a full glass building looks very beautiful too. Sadly, due to a government plan, this building is to be demolished and we will move into a new premises. Even tough we are excited to move to our new premises soon, it is sad that such a beauty as to go😌

Well just got to do a rapid antigen test at home as I was in a close contact with a positive person. Luckily it came out negative but I am getting fed up of this requirement by the government to get tested again again with any positive contact. I think the government need to have better policies about such scenarios as many pharmacies and medical stores are earning un just profits due to shortage of these kits in the market 😣

My favorite memory about 2019 was being able to visit New York and snap this beautiful shot of Manhattan skyline 😍 This is another #throwback shot that I like to reshare as I get new followers and of course there are new members at noise as well😊 I snapped this shot from the viewing observatory on Rockefeller centre in Manhattan which in my opinion is the best spot as your photography can capture the famous Empire State Building as well 😉

This was a major news today in Qatar. The central bank announced that they are considering launching a digital currency and I believe that this will pave ways for crypto acceptance and adoption in the country. I know many banks in Qatar are already utilizing the Ripple network for cross border payments but are too reluctant to accept the blockchain based alts. Anyways I guess it really was a good news😉

We all heard of “stairway to the heaven” which is in Hawaii, but Have you heRd about “stairway to oxygen “? I guess not because there is such thing like that and made up this name of the shot I shared in this post 😜😅 It was snapped during by trip to Tokyo in 2015 and this wooden stairway leads to beautifully managed trees in the backyard of a traditional Japanese house. Hence I named it “stairway to Oxygen” 😉
