Winter blizzard 🥶❄️🥶 My plans have all been cancelled today. Temperatures and snow are making that impossible. Here it feels like -40 F what does that mean going outside? Within 5 minutes of exposure your skin can become frost bite. You can throw water from a glass in the air and none of it will make it to the ground. Not exactly sure how much more snow we will receive. So far we haven't received much. There already saying this Christmas may be the coldest one on record. I have already prepared my house for these events. This includes opening cabinet doors underneath sinks. Shutting off water valves that we won't use. Some were shut off weeks ago but we have shut off additional ones we will sacifrice not using. I've set up space heaters near the main water supply pipes. I also have all sinks on to just slowly dripping. These events usually don't happen here until January/February. Long winter to come? Any warm weather friends want to swap locations? 🥶 Vs 🥵 haha. For sure no brainer but to stay inside and keep warm.
Snow is scheduled to move into our area in another 6-7 hours but the weather place says we'll only get maybe three inches - but that bitter cold temperature drop is gonna happen, and it won't get above freezing again until next Wednesday. I have a vent for my heater I can open that lets a small amount of warm air in the space under the house where all my water pipes are, so unless the line coming from the city's main supply freezes, I'm good. But man that heat is gonna wanna run for the next week, and natural gas ain't cheap.
Ya cold here for awhile also, it's the darn wind that is the killer. Unfortunately my pipes our on the west wall above the floor, oldier house. Pipes are wrapped but that's not enough. A few years ago they bursted definitely don't want that to happen again. I forgot but I thought you were in Illinois right?
Yep, southeastern part in an odd weather zone between I-70 and I-64. 30 miles north of us and 30 miles south of us always get everything worse than we do.

Usually it's not warm when it snows, haha. It does happen but warm has a different meaning for everyone, hehe. Warm to me in winter is anything near or above freezing 32 F/ 0 C.
I want to hold the snow but it's a shame the hands don't reach.
If you were outside here right now you wouldn't care about the snow, haha. I totally get you wanting to hold though. I wish I could feel the ocean but my legs won't reach.

Oh oh oh! Enjoy the snow, here I thought I could feel at least a colder weather but in some moments it's hot and I'm walking around with t-shirt and jacket on my arm. Incredible!

When I was younger,I thought wi ter is heaven. But now I realized it's hard to live with it. Im sorry about your plans and I hope everythi g will be fine through the whole winter season
