... **AS HON. IFEANYI OGOMEGBUNAM ANIEKWENA (ACHIKA GENERAL) PRESIDENT OF OGIDI YOUTHS ASSOCIATION BOWS OUT.** Wednesday, the 10th day of November 2021 dawned a bright and fair day. Little did we know that tragedy was by the side waiting to strike until it did strike. It was the tragedy of the sudden death of the President of Ogidi Youths Association Hon. IFEANYI OGOMEGBUNAM ANIEKWENA (ACHIKA GENERAL); a promising vibrant young man, loving father, brother and friend, and charismatic leader. The sad news rumoured about. And we all had wished it never came true. But how wrong we were. It was true and real. ACHIKA is gone. Gone rather sudden and in brutal conditions. The reality of the tragedy threw Ogidi Community in a chilling deep shock. Both men and women, big and small burst into tears of sorrow and grief for the loss of the President of Ogidi Youths Association who was murdered in cold blood in a broad daylight. At this juncture, it's interesting to think that one day, out of nowhere, we came into existence; and from here, we are definitely going to embark on a transitional eternal journey that will mean the end of our physical lifetime - death. Death is scary to think about. We still cannot fully comprehend it. Think about going to sleep and never waking up again. It is one of the most difficult things that any of us will have to deal with in our lives. It is personal, unique, and very different from person to person. When we die, all things soft and beautiful and bright would be buried with us; so it shall be with. We hold ACHIKA to be a gentleman which we found him to be. Undoubtedly, he had run his race, no matter how brief it may seem in our view. Some people lived a lifetime in a minute. HON. IFEANYI OGOMEGBUNAM ANIEKWENA (ACHIKA GENERAL) assumed office as the President of the Ogidi Youths Association on Saturday the 19th day of December, 2020. He held the 4-year-tenured office for only 326 days or 46 weeks & 4 days or 10 months & 22 days. Despite his short stay in office, his regime was characterized by laudable transformational blueprints, policies and activities. Your sudden departure was most unfortunate. It's obvious it wasn't your choice to leave so sudden and so soon. We are in sorrow. We are in pains. Ogidi Union Nigeria sympathizes with the widow, kid(s), brothers, sisters, relations and friends of HON. IFEANYI OGOMEGBUNAM ANIEKWENA (ACHIKA GENERAL) and the entire ANIEKWENA family, Nkwelle-Ogidi Community and Ogidi in general. We pray God Almighty to grant you/us the fortitude to bear the great loss. Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we'll miss you until we meet again.
