**What is a Coin Burn?!**
Coin burning happens **when a cryptocurrency is intentionally sent to an unusable wallet address to remove it from circulation**. The address, which is called a burn address or eater address, can’t be accessed or assigned to anyone. Coin burning reduces the supply, making of that cryptocurrency scarcer.
**Why Would** Community Members Not Want To Burn?!

Masternodes are considerably different in their functionality than normal nodes for example, like on the Bitcoin network. Apart from keeping a copy of the full blockchain in real-time and verifying blocks/transactions, Masternodes fulfill other functions as well:

Enables instant transactions across the network.
Holders participate in governance/voting

**Mise à jour sur le RPD Bridge vers BSC et l'intégration de BSC au Rapids Wallet**
Rappel, depuis le 31 mai de cette année, un **Bridge** a été mis en place **entre Rapids et Binance Smart Chain (BSC)**, vous permettant de **convertir vos Rapids (RPD) en Wrapped RPD (BRPD)**, à un ratio de 1:1, pour une utilisation sur tous les **dApps BSC**. Nous continuons à évaluer la position du BRPD et à rechercher des opportunités sur BSC, y compris les pools de Staking et le Farming.
L'intégration de BSC au Rapids Wallet a été mise en attente jusqu'à nouvel ordre. La raison en est que nous estimons qu'elle n'apporte pas de cas d'utilisation supplémentaire de RPD pour le moment. **Présentation de NFT**
En avril 2021, Rapids a recruté **sa première artiste NFT**, **Samantha Haeffele** (Looney Mascot), une *Artiste Américaine et Conceptrice Industrielle*, dotée d'un incroyable parcours comprenant une Licence en Conception Industrielle et une expérience de travail en tant que Pattern Design chez Realtree.
**Samantha travaille dans les coulisses depuis quelques mois maintenant pour créer notre première édition du NFT Game qui verra les détenteurs de RPD du monde entier s'affronter**, créant de nouvelles opportunités de marketing et bien sûr apportant un autre cas d'utilisation passionnant pour les RPD. Sortie prévue au premier trimestre 2022.

*It was while swallowing that he got the answer to his question as he slit his throat from the inside…*"

Let's all gather around the fire, which lights and protects the community of Rapids, as it was done more than 2500 years ago in the Celtic countries. Let's take the time to dress up and tell scary stories. On this Halloween night costumes protect us from spirits (for it is on this night that the barrier between the world of the living and the world of the dead is thinnest), and tell us stories that make us shudder. Do you feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? Don't worry, let's all stay together and enjoy these unique moments.
Use your imagination, your creativity, and tell us your most terrifying, horrifying story (imaginary or not).
All your stories will be read, and will be voted on by the Rapids Team, who will vote for the 2 best stories. The grand prize winner will receive a Linkshare of 50 RPD and the second best story will receive 30 RPD per Linkshare.

Rapids - SCARIEST Short Story Contest, win some Rapids (RPD)
Let's remember the original story. **Halloween is one of the most important Celtic festivals**, because it is the **festival of Samain** (***God of Death***). More than 2500 years old, it is the time of the year that announces the end of the harvest, the days are getting darker and darker, it is the arrival of winter.
But ***this festival is also the time of the year when the border between the world of the Dead and the world of the Living is the thinnest***, which allows the spirits to join the world of the Living for a few hours.
***This is why all the members of the village gathered around a fire and a banquet***. Their presence was obligatory under penalty of death. During these banquets, sweets were laid out to try to appease the spirits.
As soon as the door between the two worlds was opened, ***all the members of the community had to disguise themselves***, with animal skulls, animal skins, or tattered clothes, to lure the spirits, and thus to make themselves pass for spirits, so as not to be attracted by them, and thus to cross the border and abandon the world of the living before time.
**Around these fires**, **stories were told**. Either **scary stories**, or **frightening legends**, but it was especially the moment to make the legends live and last.
During this night of Samain, all the members of a village had to plunge their dwelling in the most total darkness, to extinguish all the fires and candles, which announced the end of the year (according to their calendar), to then gather all together. The monks would light new scythes at sunrise, or each member of the community could take an ember and use it to light the fires and lights in their home. And so begins a new year under the protection of the new fires.

Our **team** is continuously working on new products and strategies in an effort to reward you for the continued support. **Rapids** has a number of developments ongoing; the **RPDx Token Protocol**, **Raptic**, **Rapids Wallet**, to name a few. https://rapidsnetwork.io/team/
**Update on RPD Bridge to BSC & Integration of BSC to Rapids Wallet**
Reminder, as of May 31st of this year, a **Bridge** was set up **between Rapids and Binance Smart Chain (BSC)**, allowing you to **convert your Rapids (RPD) to Wrapped RPD (BRPD)**, at a ratio of 1:1, for use on all **BSC dApps**. The BSC integration to Rapids Wallet has been put on hold until further notice. The reason for this is that we feel it brings no additional use case at this time for RPD. Development will also be put on hold until further notice and instead we’ll be actively sourcing partners and or other platforms whereby Raptic can be integrated for their streamers and viewers to make use of.
**RPDx Layer**
Q2 2021 **Rapids Network** successfully launched **Rapids 4.0 (Part 1) which included the ratio 1000:1 coin supply reduction**, block reward restructure and some optimisations to the desktop wallet in readiness for RPDx.
**What’s next for Rapids Network?!**
**Part 2 includes the much anticipated launch of RPDx** and in addition to this the **Rapids dApp** giving our community the real “***Blockchain At Your Fingertips***” experience. For example:

**NFT Introduction**
April 2021, Rapids recruited their first **NFT artist Samantha Haeffele** (Looney Mascot), an *American Artist & Industrial Designer*, with an incredible background including a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and a history working as a Pattern Design at Realtree.
**Samantha has been working behind the scenes for a few months now creating our first edition NFT game which will see RPD holders from all over the world competing against each other**, creating new marketing opportunities and of course bringing another exciting use case for RPD. Expected release Q1 2022.
**For Example: The Fire NFT Edition (an in-game NFT)**

NFTs have a huge impact in how business is done in the crypto industry. They have become a great tool for spreading product awareness and developing brand loyalty. At Rapids, we always strive to do things differently. Rapids will be working with partners on creating real use cases for tokens which in return brings a massive increase in use cases for the RPD. For example ticketing systems, memorabilia, fan tokens, raising awareness of events. We believe with Rapids’ team of several Ambassadors sourcing new partners alike across the globe we anticipate an explosive growth for use on the Network.

Beaucoup d'entre vous se demandent souvent **pourquoi nous différencions les Coins et les Tokens**, ***certains d'entre vous confondent même les deux dénominations***, en appelant 'Tokens' ceux qui sont des 'Coins' et en appelant 'Coins' ceux qui sont en réalité des 'Tokens'. Alors que **tous deux sont des Cryptomonnaies/Crypto-Actifs**.
Rappelons d'abord **ce qu'est une Cryptomonnaie** : ***Monnaie Électronique/Virtuelle construite avec une Cryptographie Fort. Elle est hautement Sécurisée et Immuable. Et sont basés sur une Technologie Blockchain***.

Donc a l'inverse, les **Tokens fonctionnent sur une Blockchain qui permet de les créer et de les Héberger** (alors qu'elles appartiennent à une autre Coin), telle que :
la **Blockchain Ethereum**, avec les Tokens de type ***ERC-20*** & Tokens de type ***ERC-721***
la **Blockchain NEO**, avec les Tokens de Type ***NEO-5***
la **Blockchain Tron**, avec les Tokens de Type ***TRC-10***

Difference between Coins & Tokens
Hello everyone!
Many of you often wonder **why we differentiate between Coins and Tokens**, ***some of you even confuse the two denominations***, calling 'Tokens' those which are 'Coins' and calling 'Coins' those which are actually 'Tokens'. But **both are Cryptocurrencies/Crypto Assets**.
Let's first recall **what a Cryptocurrency is**: ***Electronic/Virtual Currency built with Strong Cryptography***. ***It is highly Secure and Immutable***. ***And are based on Blockchain Technology***.
***One of the first Electronic Currencies that inspired our current Cryptocurrencies***, was ***created by*** **David Chaum in 1989**, under the name **DigiCash** https://bitcoinmeister.eu/the-origin-of-cryptocurrencies-part-12/
**To understand this big difference between Coins & Tokens, just remember this:**
**A COIN is a Cryptocurrency that operates and functions on a Blockchain of its own** and thus ***each Blockchain is different***!

So on the contrary, **Tokens work on a Blockchain that allows to create and Host them** (while they belong to another Coin), such as:
the **Ethereum Blockchain**, with Tokens of type ***ERC-20*** & Tokens of type ***ERC-721***
the **NEO Blockchain**, with Tokens of Type ***NEO-5***
the **Tron blockchain**, with Tokens of Type ***TRC-10***
You can also create tokens on a multitude of other Blockchains such as:

Concerning the **Coins**, you have to **think of them as a 'Currency' in their own right**. Because they have the **same characteristics as the Money Coins**:

***Unit of account*** (allows to set a value with this currency)

Et pour finir, cliquez sur ***Enregistrer***.
Et voilà, vous arriverez sur votre **Wallet BNB** (pour le retrouver ensuite, il vous suffit juste de cliquer en haut de la fenêtre, au milieu et de sélectionner '***Smart Chain BNB***')
Il vous faudra ensuite créer le **Token BRPD**, pour cela :
En bas de cette fenêtre, cliquez sur '**Ajouter un Jeton**'

Le Symbole et la Décimale de précision s'inscrivent automatiquement.

Ce Wallet est beaucoup plus simple d'utilisation, pour commencer allez en haut à droite, et recherchez le Token 'BRPD', il n'est pas listé c'est normal
Ensuite cliquez sur '***Ajouter un nouveau Jeton personnalisé***'
Commencez par sélectionner le réseau : ***Smart Chain***
Copiez/Collez cette adresse, dans adresse du Contrat : ***0x1e2cdda8dd439e3953a6f43d1a2a7a4c3af39922***
Ajoutez le nom : ***Wrapped RPD***
Pour le Symbole : ***BRPD***
Et pour les Décimales, indiquez : ***8***

**Binance Chain Wallet**, c'est une extension de votre Navigateur, tout comme MetaMask, c'est le plus rapide et le plus simple :
Allez sur l'extension '***Binance Chain***'
Sur le bas de la fenêtre cliquez sur le '***+***'
Ensuite ajoutez un nouveau Token en cliquant sur '***Custom Asset***'

At the bottom of this window, click on '**Add a Token**'.

The Token Symbol and the Decimal of Precision are automatically filled in.
Finally, click on **Next**
And to finish, '**Add Tokens**'.
You have just finished creating your BRPD Wallet, now all you have to do is fund it.
**Trust Wallet**:
This Wallet is much easier to use, to start go to the top right, and look for the 'BRPD' token, it is not listed it is normal
Then click on '***Add a new custom token***'.
Start by selecting the network: ***Smart Chain***

How to create a Brain Wallet
Before starting, you must remember 2 Certitudes !
***In this world security is just an illusion!***
***Never tell anyone what you own!***
The basic principle of a **Brain Wallet** is that the **Passphrase** (recovery phrase) **has never been written down anywhere**, so **you must know it by heart**.
When we know that **Passphrases can be from 4 to 24 words**, it may seem difficult to memorize a random sequence of so many words. But **that's where the security lies**.
A survey conducted by **BitMEX** and published on **October 13, 2020** showed that people can be lax in terms of security for their **Brain Wallet**. I*t is certainly easier to remember music lyrics, a specific sentence from a book, a quote, a saying, etc*.. https://blog.bitmex.com/call-me-ishmael/
For this **survey** they created **8 Brain Wallets**, **each supplied with 0.005 BTC**, **using Passphrases from Books** (Moby-Dick by Herman Melville, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ..), **Music** (Blowin' in the Wind by Bob Dylan), an excerpt from the **Bitcoin White Paper**, etc ... https://blog.bitmex.com/call-me-ishmael/
***In less than a day the 0.04 BTC were stolen***, and for one address of the ***8 Brain Wallets***, the funds were moved in ***0.67 seconds!*** Less than a second! For the longest, it took 80 Blocks, but ***the 8 Wallets were emptied in less than a day!***
***To make a Brain Wallet relatively secure it needs some work***, I will give you a simple example, but it is up to you to define the solution that will suit you best. We know that ***it is very complicated to find a random list of words*** (without generating it online).
**Opening a dictionary and choosing words at random can be one solution**, among others. **But to make this word list easier to learn**, **you need to add a personal factor**.
Here is my example:

Well, obviously I didn't have any luck, I have way too many short words. But in case you have a good set of words, **you can easily learn them by heart by creating a little story**, and including all the words.
I went back to my list, and changed a few words, taking the next, or the previous one in the book, which gives me this new list: (*inverse*, *bras*, *quitté*, *mémoire*, *lentement*, *pas*, *toile*, *main*, *longtemps*, *tragique* in French) ***reverse***, ***arm***, ***left***, ***memory***, ***slowly***, ***steps***, ***web***, ***hand***, ***long***, ***tragic***:
"***In my dream, everything is the Reverse of reality, my Arm is tattooed, I have Left reality my Memory wavers Slowly, with small Steps I approach a spider's Web, that I remove with my Hand, it had been a Long time since I had seen spiders, and suddenly, it is the Tragic awakening***". This story is absurd, but the rest of the word is easier to remember. Another solution would be to do a Mind Palace, but that requires a lot of practice.

Now we have our **10 words**, I recommend you go to **BrainWallet** (*if you want a* **Bitcoin (BTC)** *or* **Litecoin (LTC)** *address*), then write down your list of words: ***reverse arm left memory slowly steps web hand long tragic*** (be very careful not to make a mistake), select '***Generic***', and rewrite the ***last word*** of your list in '***SALT***'. All you have to do is **remember your list of Words**, remember the **website where you generated the Bitcoin Address**. **Nothing more**
**The Bitcoin Address can be written anywhere you want** (it's impossible to link a public address to a private one), **it's public**, you can write it down anywhere without any problem, it will also allow you to **check your balance**, as for the Private Key, don't copy it, don't print it, don't share it with anyone, it's this address that will allow you to import your Wallet, to make transactions.

Comment créer un Brain Wallet
Avant de commencer il faut retenir 2 Certitudes !
***Dans ce monde la sécurité n'est qu'une illusion !***
***Ne jamais dire à personne ce que vous possédez !***
Le principe de base d'un **Brain Wallet**, est que la **Passphrase** (phrase de récupération) **n'a jamais été écrite quelque part**, donc **vous devez la connaître par cœur**.
Quand nous savons que les **Passphrases peuvent comporter de 4 à 24 mots**, il peut sembler difficile de retenir par cœur une suite aléatoire d'autant de mots. Mais **c'est dans cela que réside la sécurité**.
Une étude réalisée par **BitMEX** et publiée le **13 Octobre 2020** à démontré que les gens pouvaient faire preuve de laxisme en terme de sécurité pour leur **Brain Wallet**. Il est certain qu'*il est plus facile de retenir des paroles de musiques*, *une phrase spécifique tirée d'un livre*, *une citation*, *un dicton*, etc .. https://blog.bitmex.com/call-me-ishmael/

***Pour rendre un Brain Wallet relativement sécurisé cela nécessite un peu de travail***, je vais vous donner un exemple simple, mais c'est à vous de définir la solution qui vous conviendra le mieux. Nous savons qu'***il est très compliqué de trouver une liste aléatoire de mots*** (sans la générer en ligne).
**Ouvrir un dictionnaire et choisir des mots au hasard**, cela peut être une solution, parmi d'autres. Mais **pour que cette liste de mots soit plus facilement apprise**, **il faut y ajouter un facteur personnel**.
Voici mon exemple :
Je prends un **livre** (il faut que vous soyez sur de vous souvenir du livre choisi - j'en ai pris un **écrit en Francais**, '***Replay***' de **Ken Grimwood**, la version poche de l'éditeur 'POINT'). Ensuite dressez une liste de dates qui vous sont chères. ***Date de naissance***, ***date de mariage***, ***date de remise de diplômes***, ***dates de création d'entreprise***, *des dates que vous êtes sûres de ne jamais oublier*.

J'ai repris ma liste, et j'ai changé quelques mots, en prenant le suivant, ou le précédent dans le livre, ce qui me donne cette nouvelle liste : ***inverse***, ***bras***, ***quitté***, ***mémoire***, ***lentement***, ***pas***, ***toile***, ***main***, ***longtemps***, ***tragique*** :

Cette **histoire est absurde**, mais la suite du mot est **plus facile à retenir**. Une autre solution serait de faire un *Palais de l'esprit*, mais cela requiert pas mal de pratique.
Maintenant nous avons nos **10 mots**, je vous recommande d'**aller sur le site** **BrainWallet** (*si vous souhaitez une adresse* ***Bitcoin (BTC)***), inscrivez ensuite votre liste de mots : ***inverse bras quitté mémoire lentement pas toile main longtemps tragique*** (faites très attention à ne pas faire de faute), sélectionnez '***Generic***', et réécrivez ***le dernier mot*** de votre liste dans '***SALT***'. **L'adresse Bitcoin peut être inscrite partout où vous le souhaitez** (il est impossible de relier une adresse publique à une adresse privée), **elle est publique**, vous pouvez la noter n'import où sans problème, elle vous permettra aussi de **contrôler votre solde**, pour ce qui est de la Private Key, ne la copiez pas, ne l'imprimez pas, ne la partagez a personne, c'est cette adresse qui vous permettra d'importer votre Wallet, pour effectuer des transaction.
