Ultrasound

Ultrasound is very useful for confirming the diagnosis of ovarian and other pelvic cysts, pelvic abscesses, and other disorders of the female reproductive organs. a full bladder is necessary for this safe, painless procedure, which takes between 15 and 45 minutes.

Ultrasound is also widely used for examination of the pregnant uterus. It is used to demonstrate the size, position, and growth rate of the fetus, to check for multiple pregnancies and to check for any abnormalities in the fetus or placenta. The beating of the fetal heart can be seen on real-time ultrasound from the sixth week of pregnancy.
