It looks like the deal between Elon Musk and Twitter for the purchase of the social media company was finalised. The saga is over. Will be interesting to see in what direction things will change now in the bird app. Whatever changes will also affect the Crypto Twitter (CT) space.

Jack Dorsey (founder and ex CEO of Twitter) shitting on Web3.0 and then developing what he calls a Web5 platform is pretty surreal and speak volumes of confusion in Crypto right now. Web3.0 hasn't even t taken off as tech and is definitely not widely adopted yet but we rush to talk about the next big thing after that. BTW, where did Web4 go?!
I might be totally wrong here, but contrary to what many expect I don't think that Dogecoin will play an important role as a platform token in the Musk owned Twitter. Probs in order to make Twitter profitable and integrate crypto payments; a multi-token approach makes more sense, giving priority to well established and proven ones like BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, etc.
One of the first moves of Elon Musk after taking over Twitter was to fire its CEO Parag Agarwal. Parag served less than a year as head of Twitter and managed to bait Elon to commit and buy Twitter for $44 billion at a price at least twice more of the platform's valuation amid one of the worst crashes in tech stocks and bagged himself more than $40 million. Musk refusing a $15 billion financing offer for the Twitter purchase from SBF (CEO of FTX and probably the biggest crypto player around) and then accepting a financing offer from CZ (Binance CEO) signals that there is a strong powerplay here for taking leadership and shaping narratives in Twitter. Keep in mind that Twitter is still the most important social media for cryptocurrency investors and influencers.
If what happened with Kanye West / Ye or Tumblr is an indication, then don't expect Twitter to become a temple of free speech. Digital speech in centralized social media platforms like Twitter will remain heavily moderated as Elon needs the ads / sponsor revenue to keep flowing.
