Smoke Bush in my garden from last year. After a rain shower I enjoy walking around the yard to capture the drops. This bush gets so big, it has to be cut back at least once during the summer. Makes a great addition to any garden. And the colors are amazing. The green and tinges of brown and rust on the leaves, also a bloom that looks like a puff of smoke. The second photo shows the blooms. This is a perennial. It gets cut back for the winter. Then it emerges in the spring. Very cool. #AlwaysOriginal

I used to be a fervent gardener, but as the years have gone by, and I've lived in condos and apartments, I haven't been out digging as much as I used to. Plus, let's face it, my body has gotten older and stiffer! But now we are in the Philippines, and I haven't a clue how to garden here. It seems like some stuff you can just stick in the ground and it grows like hell! Other things, such as verbena, that we cultivate in the USA are despised weeds here, at least to farmers.
