Happy World Goth Day! ๐ง๐ฆ๐ท๐ For those of you who are not familiar with the day or the goth subculture, it is a day that was picked by a few DJs from the United Kingdom to make the goth subculture known to the world. The goth subculture is an alternative music-based following that enjoys music that was established in the late 70s - early 80s and continues to this day. Members of the subculture are famously known to be dressed in all black and take fashion inspiration from the musicians that they listen to. Members of the subculture are found all over the world and are known to include and are accepting of anyone regardless of race or religion. Some of us may even take the next step and decorate our living spaces with dark-themed home decor. It gets really exciting when the Halloween season comes and we get to seek the proper home decor that would otherwise not be available to purchase at any other time of the year. This subculture is also one of the most misunderstood because we - I include myself as a proud goth member - have a unique interest in topics that are mostly shunned by society in general such as the topic of death and dark themes. Because of this, many people would assume that we are into dark magic and even devil worshippers. Such assumptions have made the word "Goth" become related to "strange", "creepy", and "suspicious". Nothing can be further from the truth about the wrongful labels that have been given to us. We are just individuals who simply like to dress in all black and listen to a different genre of music. I enjoy many different types of music and I would like to share my personal favorites from the gothic collection in no particular order: Artist: The Sisters of Mercy Song: Lucretia my Reflection https://youtu.be/UoAs63R1cZM Artist: Drab Majesty Song: Cold Souls https://youtu.be/3-D4X8F9kEA Artist: Eyes of the Nightmare Jungle Song: Shadow Dance (some of you may know this one when I shared a post of a little girl dancing to this song a while ago) https://youtu.be/bQm_B5oJomc Artist: ะญะปะตะบััะพัะพัะตะท (Russian: electrophoresis) Song: Quo Vadis? https://youtu.be/f5NRP01G0js If anyone is interested, I may share more information about the goth subculture in future posts or in responses to this post. ๐ฆStay spooky๐ฆ

I didn't know this, you never told me about this ritual, but I wondered when I saw you wearing black nail polish, what are you doing as members of this group
I guess I never did brought it up but I am a proud member of the goth subculture. ๐ฆ I wear black nail polish to match the black clothes I wear. I made the decision to wear only black from now on about a year ago. As a member of the subculture, we listen to the same kind of music, such as the music I have shared. We also enjoy sharing common interests of darkly-inclined hobbies like horror movies, clubs that play goth music, visiting cemeteries, and designing our living spaces with dark-themed home decor, like the piece of plastic I decorated my wall with. I want to transform my room into a complete Gothic lair. ๐ค
This is really scary for me, do you believe in God
Yes, I am spiritual but I am a pragmatist first. I believe that not everyone deserves love but also not everyone deserves to suffer. What is it about the goth subculture that scares you? ๐
I am afraid of the color black and the rituals of death
I understand. It's just that the color black is the only color I love wearing and I do not have any plans on wearing any other color. We really don't participate in rituals of death (I will not deny that there are a few that may do so but it is just a music-based subculture). I hope that I have not frightened or disturbed you in any way...
No, you can't bother me. We're friends, even if we have different interests. This doesn't cancel our friendship. Don't worry about it. But I want to see you optimistic, not bleak or violent.
That is so good to hear ๐ฅน I have been more optimistic than I have been before. I want to share more details about my goth lifestyle with you and everyone on here. Here are some things that I want to get to decorate my home with. What do you think of them?๐
No, my God, skulls, if I sat in a room with these things, my heart would stop in terror, you're crazy my friend๐๐๐๐
