Tower Bridge is a bridge in London, England over the River Thames, between the City of London and Southwark. This was the only bridge over the Thames in London until Westminster bridge was opened in 1750. The first London Bridge was built by the Romans sometime after 43 AD and some of its wooden remains have been found on the north side of the River. This bridge was designed by Mott, Hay and Anderson, constructed by contractors John Mowlem and Co from 1967 to 1972, and opened by Queen Elizabeth II on the 17th of March 1973. If you have a chance to visit London then don’t forget to put this in your itinerary.
