The Picture-Perfect of my Family
The family is the smallest unit of the society. It’s impact on an individual is indisputable, as it is more influential than teenager's peers as well as other people around them. Family structure is indispensable to the growth of every individual because it affects them as how family members behave and interact. It also facilitates the families in providing basic economic and resources, love, values and intimacy. In a typical Filipino family, the father is the foundation of the home, the protector, superior, and the one who works for the income to sustain daily necessities of the family. The mother, who is the light of the family takes care their child/children, teach them proper values and etiquettes and basic education at early age. She is also in charge in terms of emotional care, household chores and the one who motivates. But my family isn’t a typical one, we are an extended family which includes other relatives. Me and my sibling are raised by my grandparents. My grandparents had a son and two daughters one is single parent and one is single) who stay inside the household. My mother is an (Overseas Filipino Worker OFW) while my father left us when I was Grade three. Thus, I came from a broken family. This setup of family is okay for me. They provide social supports and promotes good values. But sometimes I think, what if we just separate for good? There are instances that it’s better but there are also circumstances that it’s not.
As far as I remembered, we moved in this house when I’m young doesn’t know what’s my age). Maybe when I’m two or three and I’m able to speak but not well. My grandparents are strict. Every afternoon you should sleep their reason is for us to grow quick). When you’re a naughty one, you will always get hurts. “Kapag pasaway ka may pa ka”. For them pagpalo is an act of disciplining a child. They embraced healthy foods and moral characters. It’s seldom for us t eat meat or processed foods, frequently it’s vegetables. They also acknowledged us to use “po” at “opo” and do the “pagmamano” as asign of respect to elders. My grandmother greatly believed in the existence of God. When their is a mass in our church in barangay, sisnasama niya kami. Every Flores de Mayo, kung saan may mga padasal sa iba’t-ibang bahay, pinapasama niya kami. They also taught us that no matter how poor you are, never ever think to do villanous things. When I was a youngster, my grandmother said to me ‘kaya nga namin kayo pinag-aaral dahil yan lang mapapamana namin sa inyo. Ayaw ko ko na mtulad kayo sa akin”. I still recall that and commemorate it in my lifetime. With the attitudes, behavior, beliefs or practices I have learned from my family, it helps me to swiftly socialize and interact with others. They serve as models for the social behavior that I later exhibited. My family and the home environment influence me in positive ways. Good parenting skills, their manners, social norms, and how they communicate have all helpful effects in my development and I applied it in terms of how I communicate with others like using “po” at “opo” when I’m interacting with elders and portraying my good behaviors when I'm talking with stranger, friends and teachers. All in all, no matter what family you identify with, each one has it’s own strengths and weaknesses . Parents continue to take a significant role in shaping the behavior of their children or teen/s’. As a family member, my experiences through mny family will affects who am I and who I become.
Quality Education?
For many if not most, 2020 is the year that we will never forget.It’s a challenging and tough year for all of us because of abundant catalysmic events. Also somehow ironic that we will never forget those things we don’t ever want to remember.
Still were grateful and thankful because we’re alive and continue to survive in global disaster.Government and Technology play a crucial role amid this pandemic.They safeguard the public health and the citizens as well as they providing the budget or funds relevant to the needs of the society.Particularly as a response to the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.They ensure that people will get the vital health support they need through the pandemic.
Department of Health (DOH) utilize healthcare system ,ensure access to publichealth care services and promote optimistic mental wellness.They are working together with other institutions in order to strengthen our different capacities and improve healthcare system, biosurveillance, contact tracing etc.
More than a year and half passed since the corona virus hit the world.Sometimes, I think if quality education could still be access amid the trials of pandemic. As a student, sometimes (until now) I’m having a hard time in this new kind of learning system .There are many factors and instances why it is hard to battle in this distance learning. But I concluded that quality education can still be able to deliver to all Filipino learners .At first, it’s hard due to adaptation and different hindrances but teachers give their utmost effort to give us the knowledge that we’re thirst to relevant to the path we taken that will serve as the building block of success. Whether it’s in the state of online class, modular learning or blended learning still, quality education can be be access and one of the reason why is because of technology.Because of government, teachers and technology, learning continue to progress in the era of pandemic.
Because of technology, it brings us closer together. We can chat or video call our love ones abroad or in other domestic places with different social apps like Facebook, Messenger, Viber, What’s App etc. The family gatherings,meetings and conferences became virtual in order to reduce disease transmission as well as the education. Face to face classes transformed into new model of learning which is the online or virtual now. Leveraging technological advancements help us to control the challenges brought by the global disaster. We all know that technology has disadvantages but we cannot deny the fact that it has numerous benefits and such a great help in this trying times. Technology should be use in moderation in order to fully embrace it’s advantages.
We can’t easily forget the things and situations tat broke us in 2020. Everyone is experiencing life differently at this moment and your feelings are valid. Always remember that your mental health matters. Based on my experience, technology help me to reduce my negative feelings or forget my problem even in a short time. By watching random videos and talking with others to whom I considered as internet friends that I met only in the virtual world . You know I’m comfortable talking with them. I don’t know why maybe because they don’t judge me. We can reflect from our sorrows and despairs. That if this may happen again, we can handle it better because of one reason, we learned from our pain. You can learn to move on as wound heals as time pass by. Learn to free yourself from grief. I’m hoping that you can finally close the chapter that brought you so much pain. The last year have been difficult for many of us. As we transit into the new normal , let’s look forward for a better year and the following. Hoping for a positive change that we all want to.

We should stand firm amidst life's challenges. We have personal dreams and goals in life but before we achieve that, plenty of obstacles will come on your way to erode your hope and faith. Never allow erosional forces to challenge your faith. Continue your journey because even though you failed, it matters because you tried. It matters because you don't give up. It matters because it teaches you a lesson to be better next time. Just keep grinding, time comes that that it will be your turn. Just like the sun and the moon, they have the perfect time to shine.
Nowadays, when people talk about black holes and other phenomena the name Stephen Hawking seems to be indispensable during the conversation.
Who is Hawking?
Considered one of the most brilliant scientific minds of our time, Stephen William Hawking was born on January 8,1942 in Oxford, England, which was on the 300th anniversary of the death of the famous Galileo Galilei. Hawking is a Lucasian Professor of Mathematics in the University of Cambridge, the same post held by Sir Isaac Newton.

He is the author of the book A Brief History of Time, which was very popular because it was on the British bestseller list for 237 weeks. It was Hawking's way to explain the complexity of universe, space, time, black holes, and ideas of physics. From it's title and I read some of this, I find it was too brief. In his works, Hawking demonstrated that matter, in the form of radiation, can escaped the gravitational force of a collapsed star, giving birth to the so-called Hawking radiation(undoubtedly, it's his greatest contribution in the field of Physics) . Hawking is also a celebrity as he has made guest appearances on TV shows like *Star Trek* and *The Simpsons*.
One of the famous quotes by Hawking states, *“We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special".* This is the only one that somewhat I don't admired him - being an atheist (a person who doesn't believe in the existence of God). I believed in the Creator that made the universe. It's weird that I admired him and I loved Science but I doesn't believe about the concepts of Science about how the universe created and the theory of evolution (how human evolved in order to survive) .You can't blame me LOL.
He didn't believe he'd go to heaven, a place for people afraid of the dark. For him heaven is a bedtime story or a fairy story that a mother repeteadly told to her child with innocent thinking every bedtime. Hawking is indeed special because he completed all his groundbreaking researches in physics and cosmology while suffering from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also called Lou Gehrig’s disease (a progressive, degenerative disease that destroys the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement). Hawking sits in a wheelchair, voiceless but communicates through voice synthesizers. With virtually all control of his body gone, Hawking directs the computer program through a cheek muscle attached to a sensor, which are then voiced by the synthesizer using advanced computer equipment attached to his wheelchair. All his speeches and article are created this way.
Despite all these, the physicist did not let the physical disabilities stop him from knowing the unknown but rather used them as building blocks toward success. Before his illness, Hawking said his life was boring and he had no focus in his studies then. It was only after he was diagnosed with ALS that he realized the importance and the urgency of focusing into what really interests him-cosmology-and so Hawking pored over remarkable research works that allowed us to clearly understand the grand universe.

Stephen Hawking- the world reknowned physicist and cosmologist had died at the age of 76 (after living and battling on his illness for 50 years) on March 14,2018.He is an extraordinary person with extraordinary mind. His works and researches are great contributions in the field of Science. His legacy will stay forever. I believe he's in everything. I will never be like him because I claimed that I cannot reach even a small fraction of him. I will always and forever be his fan.
The Bible and Science say about Apocalypse
Everything has an end.We have today is only temporary.Earth,our home will not stay here forever.Ever wonder and think about apocalypse.You know apocalypse has a lot of different meanings but in common,it’s the end of the world.For me,apocalypse is an event that will cause extinction to all living things even human.A complete destruction of this planet that is the only one known that can sustain life as of now.
One of the most known type of apocalypse is the zombie apocalypse where it is said that this world will dominate by the zombies eating human flesh and whoever bite by a zombie will also turn to be one of them.It will change your appearance and your way of thinking that you’re like a savage carnivorous animal who are very desperate in human flesh.Its said that the virus are created by a crazy scientist.Well,its based on a movies and novels that greatly influenced me.But,I will only focus what the Bible and Science say about apocalypse.
The Prophecy of the Book of Revelation
The Book of Revelation is the final book of new testament and Christian Bible. It adheres the destruction of the earth,signs that it’s near and the second coming of Jesus Christ. The Christian Bible also offered a way in which people can be save from the apocalypse.The apocalypse is referred as the “Judgement Day” or the “Hour of Trial”.The revelation of Jesus Christ,which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place.He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ,even to all that he saw.
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy,and blessed are those who hear,and who keep what is written in it,for the time is near” Revelation 1:3
The Lord God is coming with the clouds and every eye will see him,even those who pierced him,and all the tribes of the earth will wail on account of him.He’s the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end)

Seven Seals that the Lamb will Open
**First Seal**
A white horse!And its rider had a bow,and a crown was given to him,and he came out conquering and to conquer.

**Third Seal**
A black horse!And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand.

A pale horse!And its rider’s name was Death,and Hades followed him.And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth,to kill with sword and famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.
**Fifth Seal**
The souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne.They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord,holy and true,how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”.Then they were given a white robe and told to rest a little longer ,until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete,who were to be killed as they themselves had been.
**Sixth Seal**
There was a great earthquake,and the sun became black as sackcloth,the full moon became like blood,and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale.The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up,and every mountain and island was removed from it’s place.Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful,and everyone , slave and free,hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains,calling to the mountains and rocks “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne,and from the wrath of the Lamb,for the great day of their wrath has come,and who can stand?

The Science Says About Apocalypse
According to my reference, Earth is about 4.5 billion years old approximately one third of the age of the universe.According to Nebula theory, it was formed at the same time as the other members of solar system by accretion from the solar nebula. As the nebula collapsed due to it’s gravity, it spun faster and flattened into a disk. Most of the materials were pulled toward the center, forming the sun. Other particles collided and stuck together, giving birth to considerately large bodies now known as the eight planet in the solar system.
When a medium-sized star like our burns off it’s nuclear fuel, it crumples and then inflates into a cooler and red giant.Consequently, much of this new outer envelope blows away and loses nearly its entire envelope. Imagine our Sun undergoing the red giant stage- it will likely swallow Mercury and Venus, and if we are fortunate enough not to be swallowed yet, possible effects would be the burning of some parts of the Earth and the boiling of Earth’s ocean, thus forming the once blue and green Earth into a cinder planet.This is the possible fate of Earth once our Sun begins to expand in our atmosphere about five billion years from now.
**Where do you believe in Bible or in Science?**
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents , ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying it’s power. Avoid such people.

When I was Grade 1
**Grades are just numbers and letters.It will not define the level of your intelligence.Your failures today will not define who you are in the future.**
Reminiscing my memories and my former teacher did when I was Grade 1.Still remembering the main details of that chapter of my life.Ten years ago,I’m an innocent child with innocent thinking. Doesn’t know most of the things in this world .An immature,dirty and messy child who just want to play with friends all day.Curiosity on some things doesn’t hit me. That time,I just wanna have fun.
After I finished kindergarten,I entered Grade 1.The suitable age to became Grade 1 is six years old.Even though I’m five years old only,the school accepted me because I’m able to read but not well.
When I entered Grade 1, I still doesn’t know to read and write well and I’m awared that I’m a hard-headed Grade 1 pupil.Sometimes my teacher hit me by stick.Before,hitting pupils are legal.It’s an old culture and a way of discipline in order for the child to learn but now it’s illegal.They can file case against you if you caught doing that.It’s based on the law.
Let me share you my story,my experienced when I was Grade 1.An experienced that engraved in my mind.One time our teacher conducted a dictation,it’s a dictation of Tagalog words about our lessons in Filipino.It might be easy for me to write what the teacher dictated to me now but not on that time.I’m still on the stage where my learning and understanding progress in lessons is slow.Also,I’m not good at spelling.After the dictation I’ve got zero out of ten.I don’t care what’s my score because I did what I can.Perhaps,I’m not the only who got the zero score,some of my classmates also got and most of them are boys.Our Grade 1 teacher ordered us who got the zero score to go to Grade 2 classroom with her.We followed what our teacher said so we formed a straight line and gradually entered to Grade 2 classroom holding our paper with zero score.The Grade 2 pupils and they’re teacher are staring at us.Maybe they’re shocked and don’t know what were doing in their classroom.And my Grade 1 teacher said “Ito yung mga maggra-grade two oh”(“This will be the Grade two pupils”).Were holding our paper that were like a criminal taking picture by the police.That time I don’t care what my teacher said but as I grow up I realized what my teacher are trying to imply.Para bang pinapamukha sa amin na ang mga maggrade-grade two sa susunod na taon ay mga bobo.It look likes my teacher said that time that were dumb,doesn’t have brain,stupid or idiot.Then,we went to our classroom that look likes it’s normal or nothing happened.
Decade passed and I’m still remembering it.I don’t know but it doesn’t traumatized me.I think I’m young on that time to suffer from depression and trauma.As of now,I’m eagerly maintaining my record as honor student since Grade 1 until now.After that scenario,I pushed myself to grind.Still fresh in my mind what my former Grade 1 teacher said to me”Nung third grading ka lang kasi tumalino”.She said that it was third grading when I became smart.When I think of it,I just smile because I doesn’t claimed that I’m smart.When someone asked me that why I’m smart.I just smirk and laugh but my mind says”Hindi ako matalino,madiskarte lang”
I’m doesn’t mad or planted bad thoughts to my former teacher because past is past.Hitting or humiliating pupils on many people as a way of discipline and in order to learn is not the key for learning.Instead fear will lead on him/her.Grades are just grades.You can put 99 or A+ but it will never define the level of one’s intelligence.
If this Pandemic Isn’t Existed:The Positive Sides of this Health Crisis
This pandemic changes our lives in many ways.We’re like a prisoner in or own home.Thousands of lives are taken even jobs.Our economy is like a withered flower and continually shrinking .Face to face classes are suspended.It brought fear to our body.The fear to be infected by the virus.It brought anxiety and depression to some of the people that greatly affects their mental health.Medical frontliners are overwhelmed because of increasing cases again.And now,we’re living on a new normal where face mask and following health protocols like sanitizing,washing hands frequently and social distancing is a must.The work force is in a skeleton work.Where some of the people prefer to work at home rather than in office or government establishment because of the fear to virus.Where online class and modular learnings are the medium of learnings.Where their is travel restrictions in every places or country.Where kids and senior citizen are advisable to stay at home.
Sometimes I’m thinking of it,What if this pandemic isn’t existed?
I thought that many jobs are created and our economy is growing to it’s full potential.Everyone has the freedom except for detainees to travel in domestic places or anywhere in the world.You can unwind with your friends or visits your relatives without any hassle.The face mask,face shield,social distancing and other health protocols are out of the norms.Face to face classes are in and many students enrolled in this school year not like in this pandemic.There is a chance that some of the people will not suffered from mental illness and the people that die because of the virus are still alived.Happily bonding with their family and included in special occasions like birthdays,Christmas and New Year.Their relatives and acquaintances will not suffered from the pain from their loss.They will not suffered from the virus that tortured them.Life isn’t catastrophic without pandemic. But we don’t have the power to erase it in just blink of an eye.We have no choice but to live with it.We’re still in the tunnel and quite far from light.
The Positive Side of this Health Crisis
They say that everything and everything that happens has a positive and negative sides.I’m embracing and I do believed in that belief.Everything happens for a reason.This pandemic brought negative happenings and impacts to us.But if you look on the other side of it, you will see it’s positive sides.I’m not pertaining on the positive sides of the pandemic itself but what you discovered, realized and learned because of this pandemic.You just didn’t see it because you only looks on how your life became miserable because of the virus.As of now you won’t see it but someday you will realized it.If this pandemic isn’t existed I wouldn’t pushed myself to earn money online.I wouldn’t discovered bitcoin cash and other cryptocurrencies.I wouldn’t also discovered noise.cash and read.cash on my age as of now if this pandemic isn’t existed.Maybe,I will discover it when I’m an adult.Perhaps,I’m still addicted in online games and I will not suffered from depression.This pandemic is the main reason why depression inhabited my body.I think I’m sinking on the bottom of the ocean but what I did is to be like a submarine.I widened my perspective in order for me to be still grateful and that’s I wanted to imply to who are reading this.Enlighten yourself and look at the other side in order for you to see and appreciate it.
The Relationship of Family to each other became Stronger
The families in this time crisis have more bonding together.When this pandemic isn’t existed,they’re too busy on their works or business and doesn’t have time for family.Because of the pandemic,they more deeply knows each other as well as their children.They have given the time to bond with their family members.Set asided their works from a mean time and prioritize their family.
Unlocked New Skills
I’m really sure that most of the people unlock their new skill in time of this pandemic specially in quarantine period.They didn’t know it before but when this pandemic existed they unlocked their hidden skills.They discovered that they can do more and that they have other talents.They tried to do what’s not on their comfort zone or knowing zone.Some of the people are flexible.They can adapt on an unexpected sudden changes in this world.From a photographer to a delivery rider,from an Information Technologist to a coffee vendor and from a call-center agent to an online seller and many more who switched to other jobs because of this pandemic.They didn’t know that job before not until this pandemic existed.They unlocked their hidden skills that helped them to survive amid this pandemic.
We Learned a Lesson and a Realization
We cannot deny the fact that we learned a lesson in battling this pandemic for a year of it’s existence.I learned what matters- our health.One of the most important factor in surviving in this world is our health.In this trying times,we realized how scarcely and significantly is our health physically and mentally.We united with each other despite our differences in state of life,despite our diversity.Like in community pantry launched in the Philippines amid this pandemic.You can get based on your needs free and give what your heart's desire.
Conclusion
All in all,this pandemic devastated this world. The negative results of it is larger than positive results. If I am A Bird
Seven years passed,but still it’s fresh in my mind and still remembered the question of my former teacher to me.I was Grade Four when my teacher narrated a story about a children who they want to be.You will be astonish or shock because your expecting that the characters in the story want to be a lawyer,a teacher,or a doctor but on the contrary they want to be a bird,a butterfly and a newspaper.
One says that he want to be a bird because he wanted to fly and see widely the nature’s beauty.He will fly as high as the sky.He will fly through the summit of the horizon.
Another one says that she want to be a butterfly.As mentioned earlier,also she want to fly. She really loves butterfly. She want to get into on every flowers.She want to spread beauties and love because that’s the symbolism of butterfly.
Lastly the other says that he wants to be a newspaper.The purposed of newspapers is to spread knowledges and informations and that’s what the child in the story wanted.He want the people to be aware of currents issues and scattered legitimate facts in North,East,West and South sides of the country.
After my teacher told the story to us,my teacher called my name and asked me “What do you want to be”.Then I happily and proudly answered “I want to be rich”.He asked me again “Is only being rich will make you happy”.I didn’t answered and just sitted.Silence fulfilled me that time like I have an empty mind and a blank paper.I’m young and innocent in that time.I should never-minded and forget that question but still I’m thinking of it and it continuously circulating in my mind again and again that time.
As I grow up, my curiosity, imagination,and thinking also grown intricately.I gradually answer what my teacher asked to me seven years ago and what he wanted to imply to me,not only being rich will make you happy.Those dreams and wants are impossible to happen but I guess there’s nothing wrong with that if you know your transcendence and your ordinary limitation.Emotional pain occupied my body.Anxiety lived in my body.Depression inhabited my body.So I want to be a bird also,that has the freedom to fly.A bird that’s not meant for cage.A bird that will experience the true essence of being free.
If I am a bird a hummingbird,I will fly to the climax of my life.I will fly through the mountains,through the hills,through the river,through the vast ocean.I will fly with glance and grace.I will fly where ever the wind takes me.I will fly not until I tired.
If I am a bird,I will make friends to other hummingbirds.I will challenge them to race.Then we will fly together and I will fly fast.I will fly backward because only hummingbirds can do that.I will try to fly high then dive down swiftly.I will sip the nectars of flowers.I will gladly sip the nectars of them to taste it’s sweetness.I will chirp sweetly in the morning and bath on the rivers.I will find a love ones and patiently court her until I get her.We will make nest from straps of hays and dried little branches.Raise our hatchlings and teach them to fly until they’re ready to live their own. Then, they will left us to build their own family.However,I’m happy because I’m not alone.I still have her and she have me.
But that’s not all I’m expecting. Most of them are far from the truth.A thinking that will never happen in real life.The Law of the Jungle is the principle of the jungle.The Survival of the Fittest where everyone compete for a limited resources from nature in order to live and survive.
Conclusion
The idea of my imaginative mind seems funny but it will teach you a lesson that **not only being rich will make you happy**,there’s so many things to be happy if your only appreciating it.If I die and I will have the chance to born again but not as a human being,I prefer and wish to be a bird,a hummingbird. Even though it’s life is short compared to human and other living things and has the bigger chance to be a prey,at least it flied with liberty and that’s what make life absolutely essential.
Education Amid the Pandemic: The Challenges of Distance Learning in the Philippines
I want to dedicate this article to all Filipino students- the online and modular learners who experienced and still experiencing the hardships in online class and modular education system.To the parents that teach their child in order to learn even though they’re tired in work.To the Filipino teachers that sacrifice even their own money to buy learning materials.Who still do ways for us to learn and not fall behind on global competency amid this pandemic.Who are frequently sleeping late and tired to complete necessary things for this kind of education system.
As a prevention of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines,face to face classes are limited.Most of the student study through online class and modular learnings. The Department of Education(DepEd) suggested this learning system.They want to continue the classes and learning of Filipinos despite this health crisis.Most teachers and students find it hard to adapt and combat this new kind of learning system- the distance learning.As a result some of the students didn’t enroll for this school year or discontinue their study because of the difficulty in online class and modular learnings.
General Challenges in Online Class and Modular Learnings
Poor Internet Connection
This is one of the major problem in online class.One of the divisive issue in the Philippines for a long years that still can’t resolved.One of the barrier for a smooth process of discussion and communication among the professor and the students through virtual. Poor internet connection will trigger your stress and worries because you can’t do properly your projects and activities that needs an internet.Some of Filipino students who live in indigenous places use to go to top of mountains or higher places to find a good connection to attend to online class because education is a stair for you to reach the point of success.Other teachers use to go to roof to attend seminar for the orientation of online class and modular learnings.
Adaptation
When the classes starts through distance learning,at first it’s difficult to adapt because it’s my first time and because it’s not the usual class before.I’m having a hard time to answer the modules and do the activities in a short period of time.The worse is when you can’t understand the lesson and I’m shy to ask my teacher.Sometimes I’m lazy to answer it and do my requirements.Just enjoying the time because I have the mindset that the deadline is far.And when the deadline is near,I’m so productive to do it but I didn’t finish all.As a result,I submitted it late.I want to back the normal one- the face to face classes before where I can understand most of the lessons and ask my teacher if there is unclear to me but I can’t. Even the parents are overwhelmed in their obligations because they need to teach their children and submit the modules up to date.Even though they are tired and like a withered flower because of work they have to teach them in order to learn. I think the child learning progress is slow or didn’t learn at all because there are cases that parents are the one who do the modular activities instead of child. Their purpose is to teach their child not doing all their activities.
Location
A big challenge to the teachers is to deliver the modules to their students if the students live far or live in the remote places that can’t reach by land transportations.They tend to walk for kilometers and facing muddy and steepy roads. Crossing the oceans and even climbing mounatins just to reach remote and poor communities. The educators delivers and distributed personally the modules because some students can't afford online class due to lacked of internet connection in their place.
Conclusion
This pandemic hinders the learning progress of every Filipino students. There are lot of challenges in switching to distance learning in the Philippines. Sometimes, I'm exhausted and anxious but I didn't think to quit. I just need to rest and continue for my dreams. I learned that sometimes you need to be independent. You need to learn by yourself because yourself are the one who can you rely the most in this time. Education should not stop despite the prevalence of virus. The government should prioritize the public interest to give a quality education that everyone deserves in the society.
Same-Sex Marriage:Should it be Legalized in the Philippines?
Marriage is a commitment and at the same time an obligation.A traditional marriage happens between a man and a woman.
Same-sex marriage is one of the crucial contemporary issue in this modern era.From it’s own word,a marriage between with persons with same sex. LGBTQIA+(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual.The "**plus**" represents other sexual identities including pansexual and Two-Spirit. This community are battling for a long years for their rights.Battling for the so called gender equality.In the Philippines,this kind of civil marriage is forbidden but legalized in other countries specially in western countries.

Several Reasons why I’m not Upvoting Same-Sex Marriage in the Philippines
The Religion
We are dominantly Roman Catholic.Most of the Filipinos embrace Catholicism.It’s such a disgrace in our religion if it’s legalized.I have watched KMJS (Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho)- a television program that tell a vast range of topics hosted by Jessica Soho. A multiawarded broadcast journalist. One of the topic aired by the program last Sunday night is about a gay who have a wife and children.He left his wife and express his true self.As of now he have a partner and living decently.Based on Fr. Francis Lucas (President of Catholic Media Network)- **“Ano mang uri ng tao basta taong nilalang ng Diyos ay mahal ng Diyos at ang pagmamahal ng Cristo at Diyos ay hindi pwedeng matawaran anumang uri ng tao ikaw maging.Ang same-sex marriage ay hindi pa rin pinapayagan ngunit sa mga ganyang sitwasyon,walang taong pwedeng humusga sa kapwa niya .Pwede natin silang tulungan,turuan,pagsabihan pero huwag na huwag at saka sabi ni Pope Francis “Huwag nating itatakwil,lalaitin,isususumbat ang lahat ng uri ng tao”.**
The Constitution
The Republic of the Philippines embraced the rules and principles of Philippine 1987 Constitution.
The Family Code of the Philippines (Executive Order no. 209) was signed into law by the President Corazon Aquino on July 06,1987.It governs the basic law about family and marriage.
Family Code Article 1 states that "**Marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life".**
**Article 2. No marriage shall be valid, unless these essential requisites are present:**
**(1) Legal capacity of the contracting parties who must be a male and a female; and**
**(2) Consent freely given in the presence of the solemnizing officer.**
The Family Code of the Philippines strictly opposes same-sex marriage.It’s main interest is to preserve the traditional marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
The President
According to the article of Darryl John Esguerra seven months ago,President Rodrigo Duterte supports gender equality but he is not in favor of either church or civil marriage among same-sex couples, his spokesperson Harry Roque said Thursday.
Harry Roque( issued the statement when asked about the President’s stand on the contentious sexual orientation and gender identity expression (SOGIE) bill, which is currently being tackled by a House panel.
The Palace official said that while Duterte supports equality regardless of sexual orientation, he is letting lawmakers iron out details of the proposed legislation that aims to protect the rights of LGBTQIA+ members.
**“Malinaw na malinaw po ang paninidigan ng ating Presidente. naniniwala po siya na lahat ng Pilipino ay pantay-pantay anuman ang kanilang kasarian,” Roque said in a televised press briefing.**
**“Pero hahayaan na po natin sa Kongreso kung ano ang magiging pinal na bersyon ng SOGIE bill. Ang Presidente naman po ay nagsabi…hindi po sang-ayon ang Presidente sa same-sex marriage, be it church or civil hindi po siya sang-ayon,”** he added.
The Survey
According to the study released by the SWS (Social Weather Stations) three years ago, about 61 percent of Filipinos said they disagree with the proposed law that would permit same-sex marriages in the country.
The SWS study showed that about 44 percent of the total 1,200 surveyed nationwide said they “strongly disagree” with the proposed law while 17 percent said they “somewhat disagree” with it. The SWS survey ran from from March 23 to 27, 2018.
The SWS noted that most of those who opposed belong to Christian denominations, followed by members of the Muslim and Roman Catholic faiths.
Meanwhile, 22 percent of the surveyed respondents said they agree with the proposal to have a same-sex marriage law in the country.
The survey also revealed that about 16 percent of the respondents said they are still undecided on their support to the proposed law.
The SWS study was conducted using a face-to-face interview with 1,200 respondents.
However, the polling body did not specifically identify if the respondents were members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.
Conclusion
All in all, we should not upvote same-sex marriage in the country because it’s unnatural and the government should focused on a more significant priorities like this that we are facing a health crisis.Discrimination is a part of our society.It’s a virus in our sovereignty.We can’t change the mindset and approach of the some citizens in LGBTQIA+ people but we can be an instrument to advocate,educate,and promote the bad effects of discrimination in one’s body.They want an equality in the world we walk in but for me equality has limitation.Same-Sex marriage is not the key to promote equipoise in every corner of the country but the equality is to treat people equal no matter what is their gender.Pursuit of happiness is everyone’s birthright.Same-Sex couples can live happily and whatever they want but they cannot demand that the state recognized them because the constitution,the Philippine 1987 Constitution doesn't allow such union. **Marriage between man and a woman was established by God and no Earthly court can alter that- Bobby Jindal.**

Myself Three Years From Now
Our life is a journey of maze.Sometimes, you think it's the right path but the truth is it's the path of ignorrance and wrongful.Life is a journey .Not everyone will understand our journey.That’s okay.We’re here to live our life,not to make everyone understand.We’re born to live our life in the climax not to spread hatred.It will take a long way and a long process to reach the summit of what we call success.Ever wonder what your life would be three years from now or what's your situation. There are many questions in my mind that needs credible answers.Going to future is rarely impossible because I have no time machine so I can only imagine and picture myself five years from now. And here’s the three things that I’ve got from my imagination:
1. Taking Education in Tertiary School
Three years from now,I’m a second year college student taking Education as my course.Perhaps,it’s Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in Mathematics or English.I can’t decide right now because I already knew how hard Mathematics was.It’s my first choice as a major but in this distance learning I realized how myself having difficult time in this subject so I have two options.I want to teach high school students rather than the elementary one because I think I will more inspire them in my teaching profession.Actually,being a teacher is not I want to become someday.Being who I am can cost a lot of money so I set aside it.It’s only a dream for now.I really want to become a lawyer.I want this profession because I want to argue with people in a professional and educated way.When this pandemic isn’t existed, I have a teachers that told his story to me and my classmates.He have the same case with me.His major is Mathematics.He said that he want to be an architect but their family is lack of financial to sustain the fees in this course.We’re the same, a poor who want to achieve his dream but he can’t.I have no choice.My dream is only a dream for now.If I finished my study and I became a licensed teacher and everything is better on that time, I will study again to reach my goal.I want it to turn this dream into reality.I can’t pursue this dream for now but I believe,if God’s will,God’s will.
2. Maintaining my Good Record as an Academic Scholar
I’m a Grade 12 student in the next school year and it’s sad there’s no face to face class again.It’s hard to battle with distance learning amid this pandemic.Three years from now,I think I’m eagerly maintaining my good record as an academic scholar.Scholar is for the deserving students and I want to prove to the public that I’m a deserving one.It’s also a great way to lessen my fees in studying for my family not to worry in terms of financial issues in my studying.In terms of various extra-curricular activities,I can picture that I’m actively participating when it comes to academic contests like Science quiz bee,Science trivias,essay writing etc.I’m not suited to join on sports activities because I’m weak and I don’t like sports except chess.So you are thinking why I choose Mathematics or English as my Major instead of Biological Science.It’s because of one thing- I have a phobia in frogs.Since I was a child when I see a frog-I’m frightened.I don’t know why but that is one of my weakness.When you chose Biological Science as you Major in college-you have to dissect frogs and that’s what I’m afraid for.When I was Grade 10,our Science teacher wants us to dissect frogs for us to learn and orient.We will wear gloves but before you dissect a frog you need to hold it without gloves for a seconds.Unfortunately,it didn’t happen because we are lack of dissecting tools in Science laboratory.Being a scholar comes with a responsibility that you need to fulfill.Since ,I was in high-school until now,I’m a honor student and I’m lucky that the school take my responsibility in my tuition fees.I want to maintain this record of mine until college.
3. A Working College Student
When I was Grade 10,I have a friends that talk about they want be a working student when they are in college. Three years from now I picture myself as a call center agent when it’s school vacation.This is my plan before because I want to enhance my communication skills in English.I want to be fluent in this language. This will serve as my advantages to others.I want to be a productive person that meets the global standards.I’m not capable in working in construction or works that needs strength because I’m a weak and timid person.I’m not physically fit and not a strong person.A working student is challenging,studying at the same time working.If you’re poor and your parents can’t handle all your miscellaneous fees,you have no choice but to act.If you are eagerly to finish your study and want to change your family’s current situation,being a working student is easy.As of now,I’m saving money for my college.A little amount time by time so if time comes that I’m college,I have a savings.
Conclusion
I realized that it will take a long process and plenty of hardships to achieve that so called goals.As I grow up,I understand how this globe works.You need to set goals first and think positively to continue to your journey.Finding a motivation that is your family and specially God.Praying everyday on him will give you a wisdom and guide.He is the Polaris of my journey.A star that guides the sailor for direction for them to not loss on the sea as it points to North always.I surrender him at the end of the day my worries,fears and problems.I also pray that when that three years from now come,I’m still alive and healthy.It’s not that I'm afraid to die,it’s because I want to die with essence.I don’t want to rest forever for now because I’m not still yet successful to spoil my parents and guardians.They’re getting weak but I pray to God their safety and health.It’s only picturing myself three years from now,I know that God has a better plans than me.Thanks for reading my article!Reading it on the beginning until the end is gratefully and highly appreciated!

I accomplished that minimum payout in a span of two weeks.I never worry that it’s not paying. Eighty dollars is a giant amount and I just accumulated it for a short time and at the same time free. I think I also never doubt that this site is not paying is because they have proof of payouts. So I withdraw it and it say that in four hours, it will land on my electronic wallet.I’m very glad on that time because my efforts will be pay off.
Unfortunately four hours passed,one week passed and month passed,there’s nothing land on my wallet.There’s a part of my brain that still hoping that time that I will got it.At last,I accepted and concluded that it’s not paying. Third week of January 2021, I discovered cryptocurrency.The first cryptocurrency that I knew is Bitcoin cash because of a BCH mining site but that time I doesn’t know that Bitcoin cash is a cryptocurrency.I searched it’s legitimacy and confirmed that it’s paying. Some of the vloggers made a video about this and made a positive review. So I downloaded a crypto wallet because I learned that payout on this site needs BCH address.I watched how it works but I doesn’t watched it until the end so I didn’t understand. I’m newbie and noob on that time because I copy the BTC address and paste it to that BCH mining site instead of BCH address. Every time I pasted it,it says that it’s not a BCH address.I’m thinking on that time that why it doesn’t accepted the address that I pasted with.So I watched the video again and finally I got the BCH address.Because I’m newbie and noob that time,I tried to withdraw my mining but I said that I doesn’t reach the minimum payout which is 0.0004 BCH.Time passed by and again I doesn’t reach the minimum payout because the site isn’t paying anymore.At first,it’s really paying but quite weeks passed,it’s not paying anymore.I’m so far to minimum payout.You can mine free but it’s too slow.You need to deposit to fasten up it’s mining speed.I’m sad on that time but I need to accept it.I need to find earning apps and sites again that is free.
The third that I tried is an earning app that pays thru Paypal.It’s like a candy crush that you can earn by merging emojis.I thought that I can earn in by playing but the reality is I earn by watching advertisements.The minimum payout is $300.I searched it in Youtube to verify it’s legitimacy but I find out that this app is newly launched and there’s nothing proof of payout about this app.This time I discovered noise.cash because I saw and watched it on Youtube that you can earn by posting.I created an account in noise.cash and I still remembered my first post.It’s “Hi” and the second one is “Newbie here” then that’s it.I didn’t pursue this site because that time I didn’t knew what is subscribers and it’s hard to gain tips from the others. So back to that app that pays thru Paypal,I have an instict that this app isn’t paying because $300 is a giant amount for me and I reached the minimum payout in one week only. But still I pursue this app because of $300.In order to withdraw the $300,I need to watched 200 advertisements from that app.I completed that task and it says that in seven days,I will received it in my Paypal.I wait and seven days passed,I didn’t received anything.I checked the app and I’m shocked that I need to wait for another 15 days.Fifteen days passed and the app says it’s failed.I need to wait tons of days again.I knew it,it’s not paying.It’s really painful if you really hope.My efforts and time for another time wasted again.
I tried a lot of apps and sites after that.The apps that I downloaded are paying for a long time but I can’t reach the minimum payout.As I said before,we are lacked of internet at home.That time,it’s my two months on earning money online and I receive nothing.I’m asking myself “Can I earn money online?Is there an app or site that I can focus and that suits on my situation?
First day of April 2021,I was scrolling to Facebook when I saw a post about noise.cash.She posted her earnings about this platform.She also said on her post that this site have no referral program.It’s my first time that I knew that noise.cash doesn’t have referral program .Even though her earnings are small, I’m inspired and get motivated.I opened my account again and learned how it works.Then I posted some random stuffs.At first it’s hard but if you really put an effort to this platform,surely you will earn.I made some friends in this platform and they treated me like a person that they know even though we didn’t know each other.To gain more subscribers without pleasing them,you need to post a quality content.
All in all,my journey to earning money online is like a tunnel.At first it’s hard and dark.In the middle,you think you can’t and want to quit.But after that,there’s a light after the tunnel that you will only embrace if you have the courage to pursue and continue.It’s all worth it.As of now, it’s my three months and up in noise.cash because I counted the start in February and not April and had 800 and up subscribers.It’s not the end of my journey in online and crypto world,it’s only the beginning.

I Suffered from Depression
I'm a 16 years old male student from Philippines. I'm a noise.cash user too with my same username here. I'm posting some random motivational thoughts there but behind that I hides the deepest secret. I suffered from depression. Do you ever think the feeling that there's wrong with you?
It's more than sadness.You suffered from this but you didn't know. Saying to yourself that your okay but the truth it's not. Your afraid to open to your family nor friends because you think you can stand alone. A mental illness that slowly killing your body emotionally. So, I will share to you how I thinked I develop this, the effects of this to me physically and mentally and how I coped with this illness without any help except God and without professional attention.
How I developed Depression?
Too much using cellphone
I thinked this is one of the reasons. Last year, I'm addicted with online games to the point I sleep lately and forget to eat and drink. My cellphone is just resting when it's charging. That I'm afraid when I can't find it and frightened when my guardian confiscated it.
Pressure, Stress and Worries.
There are many reasons why I pressured, stressed, and worried and two of this is the financial problem and complying school works. I came from a poor family and I'm lonely when I saw my Grandma worrying about money. Another one is complying school requirements at a short period of time. The feeling that you want to shout and wish that it ends.
The effects of Depression to me Physically and Mentally
I Lose too Much Weight
Before this pandemic, my weight is accurate and comply to BMI (Body Mass Index). But now if you look at me, I'm so thin. Everyone noticed it. My Grandma said that it's too much using cellphone but it's more than that. Sometimes, I'll made myself hungry but I didn't know why I do that. I want it to explain to her what I feeled but I'm afraid that she will not understand. That she will say to me that I'm stagy or exaggerated.As a result, I remained silent and fight it with my own.
It's Hard for me to Sleep at Night
When night comes and it's time to sleep. I can't sleep. My eyes are closed but my mind is opened. I'm thinking and worrying very much. Sometimes, I experiencing night sweat. I do everything to sleep. I drinked water. I made myself calm. Thinking good memories but it doesn't work. The worse is when my headache attacks. Sometimes, I'm crying and praying to God that "Please, let me sleep.". Sometimes, I thinkedI didn't sleep the whole night and I can't work. But still, I work and pretending I'm okay. Why?Because my Grandma will notice it and I don't want her to worry.
I Losed Confidence and Self-esteem
When someone is saying "Why are you so thin? I'm just shrugging my shoulder but deep inside I'm ashamed on myself. When we have visitors, I'm hiding. I'm afraid that they will judge me. I hurted myself sometimes, asking "why it happened to me" while tears slowly falling down. I wished I could back myself before. My body, my confidence, my happiness before. The before ME.
How I Cope with Depression?
I strengthened my mind.
I engraved to my mind that I will never quit. I will never commit suicide because I'm so stupid and weak if I do that. I'm already a sinner and I will commit more sins if I do that. Even though I'm depressed, I'm still a God -fearing person. Beside, my family hopes that I will change our situation right now by completing my study. Like I said before, we're poor.
Minimizing the use of cellphone
I minimized the use of cellphone. I used it 10.00 a.m or 11.00 a.m in the morning( Philippine Time Zone) and I doesn't used it when night comes. I also quitted online games even though at first it's hard for me. In my own opinion, I think I'm growing and shining when I got the victory but in real life, it's not. I'm just making myself addicted. Yes, there are many became rich and famous because of online games but I have no future on that. My suggestion to who are reading this who love online gaming, complete your study first because it's better. After that if you really want to become a professional gamer or streamer, chase it.
I Made Myself Busy
Before I use my cellphone, I worked a lot. I'm doing some household chores and recreational activities like dog walking and exercising. When I feel that I'm so stressed, I'll go to forest to unwind and calm myself. There's a forest in our place. Seeing the green surroundings while the wind whispers is totally a calming and stress reliever one. Another stress reliever is our dogs-Lesley and Siota. Sometimes I talk to them and play with them to reduce my stress and forget my worries even in a short period of time.
And now, I thinked I gradually recovered, but not finally. Hope that it will continue until I fully recovered. I'm not having a hard time to sleep at night anymore and also I take some weight. My best suggestion to who are suffering and reading this is faith and prayer with God. Yes, they are invisible but they make impossible things possible. I fought it with my own and no professional care because we have no money. Remember, it's not our fault. Depression doesn't leave my body. It's just finding a perfect time to endure my body again. And that time is when I'm weak again but I'm not frightened because I know God is with me. To all who are reading this, you already know my deepest secrets that lies in the bottom of my heart.
