Few years ago I spent a week in September in one of the rooms in the Botanical garden with an amazing elevated view to the sea and I was having my morning coffee at a small bar by the sea, looking exactly like this one :) Cheers for reminding me :) I think that same Botanical Garden was initially built by Romanians?
Both the castle and the garden were built according to the instructions for Queen Maria of Romania. It was her favorite place, she called it the Quiet Nest. In the first half of the last century, this region belonged to Romania and Balchik was the favorite place of Romanian painters and aristocracy, which led to the modernization of the city because many Romanian personalities built holiday villas, following the model of the Queen. This has led to the development of buildings, the modernization of infrastructure, and the development of tourism. This architectural complex remains the main tourist attraction in Balchik.
Oh, thank you :) As I was there for the "Via Pontica" arts festival, I was one of the official photographers and also I held a solo photo-exhibition, I saw a lot of Romanian tourists, I think it is still a favorite place as I was seeing at least 2-3 wedding photo shoots each day :)
