Grow your own food! I'm not tired of saying this again and again. And since we are experiencing food crisis, climate crisis, and still in threat of viruses of the greedy monkey business, let's volt in! Charot, fave pa din Voltes V ano haha. Let's volt in, in growing our own food. Last month when I was still near the city in my cousin's house, I bought 1 kilo of sweet potatoes from a neighbor and I remembered, I shared about it also before. And there was one piece left in the kitchen after a week and with some shoots already as you can see on the first photo. What I did was, I put it in a recycled plastic container with water and let it grow until my cousin went home. I told my cousin to harvest some leaves but she let it grow more and until I went back home, I have no idea if she picked some for her veggie soup. Will ask her later if she tried eating it already or she let it screened the dust from the road. I also collected some fruits and veggies skins in pots and added some dust from the road to make a compost and plant some squash, bell peppers, tomotoes, onions and garlics. Though I know, it's hard to grow plants here. And unfortunately, when we transferred the pots outside the gate, some died because of heavy rains and poor drainage of pots. But before I left, my cousin gave some malabar nightshade stalks or alugbati and planted it in the second pot so will ask her also about it later. And hope they survived and with more leaves already for my nephew loves to eat fruits and veggies. And when I cleaned our house here, I also found a piece of regular potato (third photo) but until now it is still here on my table. I still don't know when can I plant it since I'm not done yet in reviving my garden and I failed growing it for the second time already haha. But hopefully, I will succeed for the third time and I will be adding some soy beans also in the garden next days so I'm praying really that I can grow more food, not just for me but for other living creatures since they're hungry too like us. Happy and Blessed Friday!
