We are experiencing light to moderate rains here because of typhoon Jolina and in some parts were already flooding or having strong winds. Keep safe wherever you are right now and believe that we are stronger than these weather disturbances while fighting the unseen enemies. And since this weather now is not "new" to us as tropical country, a lot of us know how to be like ants. We may wonder why ants may appear out of nowhere and roaming around our house like in the photo below. According to old folks, black ants means wealth while red ants means bad luck or loss of wealth. But actually ants were just hunting for food and water (moist) for their colonies. Though sometimes ants are not looking for food but water for they love moisture. So if your house is humid, this may attract them even if there's no food and maybe the reason why I saw them here most of the time. During elementary days, our books have stories about ants and our teachers told us why we need to be like ants. Even my father told me that ants can sense coming rains and so they are trying to survive. They gather food and look for a dry and safety place for their eggs and babies. Like ants, we need to be prepared. Not just for our basic needs but for our health for we don't know when natural calamities, food crisis, and pandemics may happen. Photos below show thousands of ants carrying their eggs and their young ones and that was taken last weeks, our stocks of some dried woods and coconut shells for cooking and banana harvested last week for few days consumption.
