About 8.9% of the world's population or 690 million people go to bed on an empty stomach every night according to United Nations food agencies. If hunger continues and we can't make ways to lessen this problem, it will exceed to 840 million in the next 9 years. The United Nations Sustainable Development calls for hunger to end by 2030 but unfortunately, the world is not on track to achieve it for world hunger is still on the rise considering the effects of this pandemic that we are facing right now. (world vision.org) When I saw Agon Hare's video of Project Nightfall on Facebook about the most shocking food people forced to eat because of hunger, I was curious also what are hungriest countries. According to the 2020 Global Hunger Index, Ten Hungriest Countries are as follows: 1. Chad, 2. Timor-Leste, 3. Madagascar, 4. Haiti, 5. Mozambique, 6. Liberia, 7. Sierra Leone, 8. Lesotho, 9. Afghanistan, 10. Nigeria A lot of reasons why these countries suffer from hunger. National Economic Growth, poverty, malnutrition, greed, corruption, soil conditions, climate, and..could be laziness too?..I don't know..we should not be so judgmental..but let's go back to Agon Hare's video. There, he gave some countries where people forced to eat shocking foods like Haiti's mud biscuits, Madagascar's clay powder mixed with tamarind sauce as soup, Venezuela's, smelling, rotten, and almost poisonous meat. Philippines' overcooked food left overs picked from piles of trash thrown by houses and restaurants, India's eating of rats. South Sudan's wild grass that grows near houses and empty lands. Can you imagination eating those foods? If you have enough on your tables right now, please, please before you waste it, try to think those shocking foods they eat.
