Moist Ube (Purple Yam) Cake Experiment My first ever moist yummy yam cake experiment! As you can see in the photo, I have boiled purple yam and I saved also the water I used in boiling as a substitute for milk. Since I used fresh ube and not powdered one and no artificial colour, it changed into blue-green after I put baking soda. According to marylandgrows.umd.edu, purple yam or purple sweet potato turns into mixture of blue or blue-green because the anthocyanin that provides the colour reacts with baking soda, baking powder or anything alkaline. So that's the result, purple turned into light green outside and blue inside. In cryptoverse, it's like ETH + BCH = SmartBCH haha! How I made my moist ube cake experiment? I mix first the white sugar (1/2 cup) and (1/2 cup) vegetable oil separately before adding it into (1 cup) mashed purple yam, 3 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 2-1/2 cup flour. No milk and eggs and instead of 1/2 cup sugar I used 3 tbsps. only so it's safe for pets. And baby Badong, mama Badang, and ate Butlog love to eat for it's not so sweet. Tomorrow I will give some to our 6 dogs including my brother's dogs. Rainy and cold Tuesday everyone!
