Russell is definitely the right man for that Mercedes seat. He proved it when Lewis was out with Covid last season. He is proving it once again this season.
He absolutely is I think Lewis will fade away and when I looked into Russels eyes and appearance today I thought Max should not worry about Lewis but Russell
Russell is a man on a mission. He wants that Mercedes seat. There is no way you will drive a top notch car and be happy going back to a lower spec. He had that taste of what Mercedes can give him with their package. It's only natural he works hard to get that seat back ASAP. I'm really rooting for him.
I can imagine
He also made Lewis look not so good. Put any driver in last year's Mercedes and he is world class - no disrespect to Russell - who incidentally lives in the same county in England where I come from
We all know Russell has the potential. Lewis has proved himself when he was actually younger, tangling with Alonso. But a driver is only as good as his car. The same Vettel that is now struggling once dominated the field for four years.
agreed. What would be good is to see how they all got on if they were essentially in the same car with only the ability to change its aerodynamics etc. So it is all about the driver, the team and how well they set the car up
Exactly. But that will never happen. Team packages will always be different just like in every sport where some people are at the top and some are basement dwellers.
Russell was seriously impressive in impossible situations - should be Max's race tomorrow. Mercedes are not very good in dirty air
As long as Russell doesn't pull a Bottas on Max i think he's save
I think knowing Williams it is likely Russell will be slow off the grid tomorrow and that might cause problems for others behind him. Max will probably get away and Lewis might be able to jump him. Of course this is a comment on the car and not on Russell
Fully agree and was exactly thinking the same....but Lewis has Gasley an Perez on his tail....he will need to drive like the living daylights.... very curious about the weather conditions tomorrow as well
I think we can expect issues on the first lap after what happened today. At least a yellow and virtual safety car although i wll be happy if they all get round
Would be nice to have a normal first couple of rounds .....I cant wait I really been looking forward to these 3 weekends in a row especially Zandvoort I lived there for 18 years
