Moderna and Other Coronavirus Vaccine Makers to Take Reduced Payments If Approval Milestones Not Met ------------------------------------------------------- If Moderna and its peers take too long to get their current coronavirus vaccine candidates fully developed and approved, they could pay the price. The government is mandating that they meet ambitious targets for this. If not, they'll receive reduced payments from public-sector entities. Moderna, for example, will receive $1.5 billion from the government if its MRNA-1273 candidate is approved for use by Jan. 31, 2021. If not, that payout will be chopped to $1.2 billion. Reuters reported on Friday that similar conditions are in place for other companies busy developing and testing vaccine candidates to block the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and/or the disease it causes, COVID-19.

Nasdaq-Listed Firm Marathon Buys 10,500 Next-Gen Bitcoin Miners **One of the earliest Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency mining companies, Marathon Patent Group, announced a new agreement contract with the ASIC mining manufacturer Bitmain. According to the public company, Marathon has agreed to purchase 10,500 next-generation Antminer S-19 Pro models for $23 million.** Marathon Patent Group wants to be the largest bitcoin mine in the United States and its recent acquisition of thousands of next-generation mining rigs may help fortify that goal. Marathon purchased 500 S-19 Pro miners in mid-June and at the end of July, Marathon bought 700 M31S+ Whatsminers from Microbt, and another 660 rigs from Bitmain. Okamoto continued, “Today’s news comes on the heels of recent incremental business growth through the purchase of what now is expected to total 13,520 next-generation miners generating 1.55 exahash (EH/s) upon full installation.” Mining company stocks have been on a tear lately as well as public firms like Marathon, Riot Blockchain, and Hut8 have seen shares increase in value significantly. There is way more exposure to the bitcoin mining stocks these days than years prior. There’s Canaan, Ebang, Hut8, Marathon, Riot, Hive, OTC, MGT, DPW, Argo, DMG, and more. There are now 14 publicly traded mining firms and all of which have shares that can be purchased publicly. History today Shortly after midnight on this day in 1961, East German soldiers begin laying down barbed wire and bricks as a barrier between Soviet-controlled East Berlin and the democratic western section of the city. After World War II, defeated Germany was divided into Soviet, American, British and French zones of occupation. The city of Berlin, though technically part of the Soviet zone, was also split, with the Soviets taking the eastern part of the city. After a massive Allied airlift in June 1948 foiled a Soviet attempt to blockade West Berlin, the eastern section was drawn even more tightly into the Soviet fold. Over the next 12 years, cut off from its western counterpart and basically reduced to a Soviet satellite, East Germany saw between 2.5 million and 3 million of its citizens head to West Germany in search of better opportunities. By 1961, some 1,000 East Germans —including many skilled laborers, professionals and intellectuals— were leaving every day. Today Pakistan was born in 1947.

Kabir doha Kabir, who was a poet and played main part in India’s Bhakti Movement, was not a believer of either Hinduism or Islam and questioned the existence of both. Kabir believed that true God is with the person who is on the path of righteousness, considered all creatures on earth as his own self and who is passively detached from the affairs of the world. Although his life revolved around this, his poetry is what we are here for. **1**. गुरु गोविंद दोनों खड़े, काके लागूं पाँय । बलिहारी गुरु आपनो, गोविंद दियो मिलाय ॥ This is one of the most famous Kabir dohe and has been adopted by school textbooks too. It has been heard by almost everyone through one way or the other. It means teacher and lord both are standing, of whom should I touch the feet first? But my teacher/guru you are the one who told me God is greater.” He has written some remarkable poetry which is widely loved by everyone today. 2. बुरा जो देखन मैं चला, बुरा न मिलिया कोय । जो दिल खोजा आपना, मुझसे बुरा न कोय।। “When I started to look for evil, I couldn’t find any. When I started to look inside my heart, I found out that I am the evilest.” This doha tells the reality that whenever we find something wrong being done, we start to point out fingers and blame people for that. If you really start to find someone who is bad, you will not find any but start to look inside yourself. Your inner self is bad and no other one. 3. चिंता ऐसी डाकिनी, काट कलेजा खाए | वैद बेचारा क्या करे, कहा तक दवा लगाए || This couplet of Kabir states the condition of every human being. It means, “Worry is such a thief that it eats one’s heart. What can a doctor do? How far will his medicine reach?? 4. दुख: में सुमिरन सब करे, सुख में करे न कोई । जो सुख में सुमिरन करे, तो दुःख काहे को होय ॥ This Kabir doha tells us the common behaviour of the people who believe in God. It says “everyone remembers God, prays to him and chants hymns to him in bad times but no one remembers him in good times. But, if you will remember him and pray to him in good times as well, you will never ever face bad times in your life.”
