These Pictures Says everything 😢 💔 Plastic is one of the materials that takes the longest time to decompose and at the same time is one of the most widely used in today's society. It is estimated that plastic takes between 100 and 1,000 years to decompose, so it is considered a very slow and long term decomposing materials. A plastic bottles takes up to 500 years to disintegrate, although if it is buried this time is even longer. In the last 30 years, the manufacture of plastic products has increased worldwide by more than 70%. While the flexible and unbreakable nature of plastic makes it deal for use in previously breakable items such as bottle and jars, the durable nature of plastic also means that plastic products take years to decompose, even in landfills.
