Why it's being instructed to reveal the truth,? It's the trait that saves you from multiple problems, once the truth you are keeping will be revealed but what if that moment brings embarrassment to you? I suppose the strength required for tolerating the reaction is great but if they are your loved ones they will overreact for once and then will become normal as they know you are valuable to them But one more point please see the intensity of truth if it's brutal yet personal divide it into chunks so that the sadness would be the least.
