Your Name? *Do you always remember someone but can't remember their names? Such a person in the past that you have great moments with but you haven't seen each other for a very long time, then suddenly you remember them now. The problem is that no matter how hard you try to remember their name, you can't remember it anymore. Like you can remember what do they look like, where do they live, how they dressed, even those encounters you have with them, but the name?* ***Nah.*** I have met a person in the past when I was in high school. He often buys snacks at our store and he just lives in a boarding house nearby. He is a fresh graduate in college, I guess. He doesn't have a job there yet. I don't know if he was looking for a job back then, but I can see him every time there. It all started when I noticed that he often stares at me when he eats at an eatery in front of our store. I felt awkward, so I just smiled. Then the next day, he buys snacks again and I noticed that he was wearing a T-shirt with a One Piece print on it. Being the anime lover that I am, I instantly exclaimed, ***"Oh! That's One Piece. Are watching that, too?"*** Then, he laughs and said, yes. He told me that he wanted to watch the movie in the theater the next week and he even invited me. I strongly refused that since I don't have any money with me to buy the ticket. He frowned and don't insist on it anymore. I'm still innocent there. I can't even realize that this guy has interests in me. LOL. The next day, he was there again. He talks to me about anime again and some Japanese cultures. He was just standing there talking to me for maybe an hour every time. Then one time, when I was walking from school towards home, I saw him in the market which is just on my way to going home. He immediately saw me, such sharp eyes. Since he was also going home, we walk home together. A lot of people saw us and their eyes locked on us until we part ways because he lives in the other block. It caused a rumor in the whole block that it has reached my Aunt and Grandma. Guess, what? Yeah, they were furious about it. Since then, they never allowed me to walk home alone with the guy again. They told me to take a ride in a tricycle. For me, it's just a waste of money since our home was just a 15-minutes walk to school. We rarely talked to each other since then, and it becomes more and more awkward every time. Also, our meetings become lesser and lesser until I went home to my hometown. I never saw him again until today. My cousin once said when they had an encounter and had a chance to talk with each other for a while, he told my cousin that he was supposed to court me but just finding a good timing to confess. Since he felt that my family was opposing our growing closeness, he started to distance himself. I was also just a minor, maybe 16, back then, so he didn't insist. I don't know why I was remembering him for these past years and just earlier. ***Is it true that if you suddenly remember someone, that person is thinking of you, too?*** It is just sayings, so I can't say so. Maybe, I'm just really just hopeless when it comes to love. I tried to reach out to some friends who live near him when I'm getting more curious about his name sometimes but they are not that close. They refuse to tell me every time by teasing me that maybe I have a crush on him. ***Crush?*** Agh, maybe. I don't know anymore. Maybe this was just the effect of boredom that the restrictions of Covid-19 have given me. I have a lot of time to recall some memories vaguely and sometimes clearly but it was still ruined every time by lacking important details. My only chance to know his name again is when I go home this April. I think I want to visit my grandma there for some time having that hidden agenda. LOL. Just wanna know it, that's all. It's all just to satisfy my curiosity. But if there would be an encounter, then it's a bonus. Hi, there!!! This is just another hopeless encounter that I had. May you call that as ***"The One That Got Away"***, or ***"Pinagtagpo Pero Hindi Tinadhana"*** kind of encounters. It's still nice to remember things like this. It still served a lesson. By the way, thanks for reading!
