The US stock market is sharply down today too. I know there’s not a ton of correlation between them, but these could be good buying opportunities.

  Yes, definitely but I think going short is best for today (4 SEP) specially for ZEC, XTZ and ETH. And talking about US market then that's fiat, it is supposed to go down due to pandemic and other reasons.       Two types of positions you can place. One is traditional long, which means you'll make profit if price goes up and another one is 'short' in this case you make profit if price goes down.
