The harvest has begun. The hills have been burning all these days, there is a lot of smoke around and soot falling everywhere in the town, so I'm being extra cautious with my eyes. I got these safety glasses to go jogging and I use my mask almost all the journey. I have to sweep the house more times a day than normal. This is just a sample of what I took yesterday from the backyard. I guess these are the cons of living in a town surrounded by sugarcane plantations. Even when we're sleeping, ashes fall on us. Some windows can't be closed, they are more like skylights. I think my grandfather never thought about this; he wanted to build a fresh and bright house. 😂 But it's not all because of the harvest. The new mayor's office has been deploying cleaning and weeding crews. And they couldn't think of a better idea than to burn everything they collected: trees, weeds, grass and garbage. 😒 I'm gonna have to put off my climb to the Empala'o; it's too dangerous to go up there at this time of the year; fire can appear at any moment and spread (actually, there was a tragedy related to that a few years ago). I better stay down here until things stabilize a little. #english #WeMakeNoise #MyDay
