I apologise for not interacting much the past two days or so, I had said in my last article that I had to deal with the rigour of travelling and as if that wasn't bad enough, the screen of my phone blacked out yesterday. I have been without a smartphone since. Until I fix my phone, I will try to interact using a friend's phone when I can. Thanks for your understanding 🤗🤗

My Journey I travelled to school today, and the journey started two days ago, as I had to wash clothes I wanted to travel with. Yesterday, I packed the bags and got all the things I needed set, so I don’t leave anything behind. I slept past midnight, as I had to read some posts I didn’t have the time to view during the day. In fact I dozed off reading a post, as I was really tired. Barely had enough sleep, but I was up by 5:30am to get ready so I would catch an early bus. I always like to leave the house early whenever I am travelling to school, so I arrive early too. And when I opened the door to my room, I was greeted by a film of dust covering practically everything in the room. *Dusty* rewarded me with 3+ hours of cleaning. And guess what, I am still not done as I have the window glasses to clean. But the room is much better now than when I found it. I’ll clean what’s left tomorrow or Saturday. My parents stay in another state, which is over 200Km from the state my school is located. One of the events thag caught my attention during the journey was the uncontrolled bush fire I observed. I saw not less than four Bush fires and the strange thing is they were all uncontrolled. I thought to myself: ***“WHY WOULD ANYONE CHOOSE TO BURN BUSHES?”*** ***“WHY WOULD ANYONE CHOOSE TO BURN BUSH IN THE DRY SEASON? ”*** ***“WHY WOULD ANYONE BURN BUSH IN THE DRG SEASON AND LEAVE IT UNCONTROLLED?"*** These were the questions I asked myself time and time again. Now here’s the funny part. The burning Bush were just by the roadside. A road different vehicles are speeding on at about 80–120KM/Hr. Of all places, you had decided to light your uncontrolled fire where the will be wind to spread it. Perhaps there is something I am missing. I spent time thinking about The Amazon Forest, and how different countries came to its aid during the wild fire couple of years ago. Another event that caught my attention was the immature tree trunks I saw some trucks transporting to the saw mill, to be processed. I am not an expert forester, but I did an introductory course in my sophomore year to know those trees were not matured enough to be sawed down for wood. I wept inside me, there is a global cry about climate change, ad here are some people burning bushes and cutting down trees that are not old enough, just so they can make a quick buck. Speaks a lot about human selfishness and desperation to make money at all cost. Not knowing the effects of deforestation are devastating, and could bring an end to life as we know it. Plants help to remove carbondioxide from the atmosphere, and add oxygen to it, through a process known as **PHOTOSYNTHESIS** – it is the process by which plants manufacture their own food using sunlight, carbondioxide and water. The need to pay more attention to nature cannot be overemphasised, as it has been said that the earth is heating up 100× more than the volcanic eruption that led to the mass extinction of living organisms millions of years ago. Although, there is another theory that it was large meteor that hit the earth and led to the mass extinction. I haven’t really been active here the past two days, because of the travel I had to do today and preparations for it. Hopefully, tomorrow is better. `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`
Truisms That Aren't True According to the **Oxford** **English** dictionary, **TRUISMS** mean *statements that are clearly true and does not therefore add anything interesting or important to a discussion*. With this, I have compiled a list of some truisms that are *ACTUALLY NOT TRUE*. In no particular order: **1.HARD WORK ALWAYS PAYS** While hard work is an important ingredient in every soup of success, it does not guarantee success. There are many ingredients that make up the soup of success and all has to come in play together. If we go by that premise, it would mean all unsuccessful people are not hardworking, and only hardworking people are successful. I know people who are hardworking, and have laboured tirelessly for many years, but they are still not successful. With success, hard work has to meet determination, preparedness, opportunity and luck. **2. LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED** In the aspect of romantic relationships, love is only a one of the many things you need for a relationship to work. In fact, ***WHAT IS LOVE?*** It has been scientifically explained as a chemical reaction in the brain, same reaction that occurs in dogs brain when they see their owner. While it is a good feeling – Love that is – it takes much more than being in love to sustain a relationship. Love itself can die out, people fall out of love, and it is commitment that is left when this happens. One can cheat on a partner they love, it is discipline and commitment that keeps one in check when they areet with temptation. You can love someone and not spend enough time with them that the relationship itself turn sour. Not necessarily make you love them any less, it’s no surprise, **quality time** is one of the love languages. It is also possible to love someone, but not trust them, at least not completely. Some might ask “How’d you say you love someone and not trust them?”. I am not sure if I can give a perfect answer or illustration for that, though, many come to mind, but I don’t think them perfect. Love, effort, commitment, discipline and trust are all part of the blocks that make the house of love. **3.WHAT IS YOURS IS YOURS** Let me categorically say that the only things truly yours is your body and your organs, as those are what you were born with. You don’t own a phone unless you pay money for it, you don’t own that dress unless you buy it from the store. And because these things are not truly yours, they do not have a direct effect on your health life. But could you lose your heart and be hearty? (hahaha. Permit my wordplay) Could you lose your limbs and be whole? But I can lose my clothes or even give them out and still be perfectly fine, in fact, because I had given them out, I will be happier. So nothing is really yours unless you work hard for it. Only then will it be yours. And because you worked for it, you can also lose it too. **4.LIFE IS NOT FAIR** True, there are too many ordeals that can befall a person, so much so you start to wonder if life itself had something against them. But it is a general thing, virtually everyone has one ordeal or another. It might differ from person to person, but it is still an ordeal. Because life isn’t fair to you doesn’t mean it is fair to others. And the fact that it is not fair to anyone in particular, makes it fair to everyone. Or at least, that is how I see it. **CONCLUSION** I have particularly talked about these truisms because there are quite common or at least these are the ones I could think of at the moment. I hope I have made a fair argument with concrete reasons as to why they are untrue. I could also state that truisms can be likened to the fallacy known as ***argumentum ad populum*** which is the wrong belief that something is true because a lot of people say it is. `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤` `Remember to Subscribe if You like my content`
Time Management Since yesterday, I have been in quite the mood. The Christmas holiday was supposed to last two weeks, and my mind has been occupied with what comes after the holiday. It Nothing horrific per sé, but I do not look forward to the end of the holiday. That’s farfetched as my holiday is already over, and I ought to have resumed school today, but I am still at home, though, I plan on going back to school before the end of the week. When holidays come to an end, I tend to think of it as punishment, because just when I am getting comfortable and used to all the free time and luxury that comes with it, school calls me back. The past two days, I have been thinking about how to squeeze in all I should do in a day into the twenty-four hour time frame. As we carry on with our daily activities, the importance of effective time management cannot be overemphasised. I have carefully summarised my activities into four categories, for the sake of this article, so as not to bore you all with many stories. To start with, **SLEEP**. The way I am, I feel sick during the day if I don’t get enough sleep the night before, not to mention the struggle to focus and migraine. That is why I try to sleep on average 7-8hrs a day. Before I came home for the holiday, I had thought about how I’ll likely not be getting enough sleep this year, as it is going to be packed with lots of academic and non academic activities. But to function efficiently, I have to get enough sleep. Secondly, **ACADEMICS**. This is the primary reason why I am in school. I have recently struggled to give adequate time to my academics. Basically, I have not been focused as I ought to be, and I am solely responsible for it. Maybe it’s unfair to me to say it is all my fault, but who else is to blame? No one but me. I have decided to give more time to academics and be more focused as it is pertinent and will help my academic performance. Furthermore, **READ.CASH**. I spend about 3-5hrs daily doing everything that has to do with read.cash, and that includes reading articles, interacting with users, and writing articles. I may not spend those hours at a stretch, but if you add the time I pop on and off, I can assure you it will be that long. And many would agree it isn’t easy doing that consistently on a daily. Lastly, **OTHERS**. This category pretty much encompasses a lot of activities such as playing football, binge-watching a TV show, visiting friends, reading secular books, playing games, to mention a few. Because this category isn’t defined, it is hard to tell how many hours it can take in a day. In conclusion, I have spent time trying to come up with a particular formula to help me solve this dilemma, but it has been to no avail. It really falls down to me, and how I effectively manage my time and ensure that any of the aforementioned categories do not suffer at the expense of another category. I know it will be a daunting task but I have to live up to it, and ensure that I effectively manage my time. Could I achieve the goal of having a good night sleep, keeping up with my academics and continue interacting with enough users here? I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. **I am open to suggestions and ideas on how to do this efficiently and without stress. Feel free to drop a comment, it will be appreciated**. ***Special thanks to those who have been interacting with my articles, I know it hasn’t been easy. Y’all are the real MVPs, thank you very much 🤗*** `Remember to Click SUBSCRIBE` `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`

Traditions While my day hasn’t exactly been the most eventful, I did spend a lot of time thinking about **tradition**, as I couldn’t help but overhear it being discussed for the most of the day. One of my cousins came to stay over at our house yesterday. And this cousin of mine is the first son of his father (who is also the first son of my paternal grandparents). Most tradition in my country Nigeria recognises the first son of the family as the heir, and my hometown is no exception. Only out of his own benevolence can he share what he has inherited from his father among the rest of his siblings. But in a case where there is no male child, then the first female child gets whatever the parents owned before they passed. And this tradition is extended to many areas, including the traditional marriage aspect. The first son is usually the one that gives out the bride to the groom in the absence of their father, but, should the father be alive, the duty falls to him. But the important part of this is that: even if the father is alive, it is traditional for the first son to be present at the wedding ceremony. In the cools of yesterday evening, as the sun sets behind the horizon, I was alone in the house, as everyone had gone out for different reasons. I heard a knock on the door and went to open it, lo and behold, it was my cousin’s step mom who had come to see my parents. I greeted her and told her they were not at home. She left a message saying that they are having a traditional marriage at their house this weekend, as one of her daughters was getting married, and that was what she had come to tell my parents, so they can be available for the ceremony. I had told her I will deliver the message to the when they returned back. Less than an hour later, mom was back, as well as my cousin. To the hearing of my cousin, I told her who had come and the message she had asked me to deliver on her behalf. Then she asked my cousin if he was aware of the ceremony, and he said no, he wasn’t informed. It was the reaction from the two of after my cousin’s response that piqued my interest in the issue. The had spent most of the night and today talking about how my uncle ought to have called his first son to inform him about the wedding ceremony and how important it is that he is present. My mom even went on to tell me about the wedding of my maternal cousin and how her younger brother had stopped the marriage ceremony because the first son of the family was absent. It wasn’t until he came that the marriage continued. All these had made me think about the need for these traditions in the first place. I have mostly thought of Nigerian traditions as patriarchal and misogynistic. Because most of it tends to favour the male gender. A man can marry more than one wife, but a woman is frowned upon if she tries it. It is the woman’s responsibility to do all the house chores and care for the children while the man is to provide money for the family. The first son gets to inherit all that belonged to his parents even if he is the last child. As long as he’s the first son, it is his birthright. Although, some of these traditions are dying out slowly, it is still much practiced by many people. Does explains the loud voice of Nigerian feminists across social media platforms. Although, I think many don’t know there is a line between feminism and sexism. I was tempted to interrupt the conversations I have had to endure for the most of the day and say: it is not compulsory for my cousin to be present at the wedding, and whether or not he is there does not determine if the marriage will be a happy one or a sad one. And that it was high time they forgot about these kind of tradition. I am not saying we should completely forget our traditions, as that is one of what differentiates one ethnic group from the other. But there are certain traditions that shouldn’t be passed on to generations. And it is up to you and I to take the necessary actions for a change. `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`
A Letter to Me, Myself and I About a week ago, I saw a post Similarities and difference between “Me” and “You” by @Greatwolfman, and I told him I’d been inspired to write a letter to myself. I have spent the last few days thinking about how to go about it. The best way to compress it into an article or just divide it into a series of articles. I suppose I have chosen my preferred choice, which is in one. So… https://read.cash/@Greatwolfman/similarities-and-difference-between-me-and-you-fc0364c1 **TO MY DEAREST PAST** Thank you for your curiosity about everything which has bestowed on you the knowledge – even though small – that makes you stand out among crowds. Even though you made many mistakes that you have learnt from even though some were as expensive as others were cheap, it is these mistakes that have seasoned the pot of experience which I eat from and has shaped you into the man I am now. You felt all emotions and handled them how you thought was best, and even if you didn’t handle it the best possible way, your ways have taught me lessons I will carry with me forever. You have paved the way for what can be greatness, and even if it is not a smooth road, I’d still trudge down it with with pride and courage, knowing the experience and knowledge you have helped me gain will be there to guide me through it all. I want to thank you for the beautiful memories you made with friends and families, memories I have come to cherish fondly and will always look back to with joy in my heart. As I see the past through you without regrets, I promise you’ll see the future through my eyes with pride. **TO MY GRACEFUL PRESENT** Believe me, I don’t know how to tell you all the things I want to say, because you know them already. But I’d just give you some advice on how to carry on with what you’re doing. Don’t be so worried about the future that you forget to enjoy the present. Always go with your heart when making choices and take risks, even if they don’t turn out well, you will have gained by learning from them. Never forget where you come from, and don’t forget to make memories, as it is the only thing that will be left when it is all gone. Be who you want to be, and not who others want you to be. Do what makes you happy as long as you’re not hurting anyone in the process, you are good. Be selfless as you are selfish, be nice as you can be heartless. Remember consistency and hard work should be constant and all you will need is the variable (luck). Eat right, stay healthy and don’t forget to love yourself every day, as no one can love you more than you. **TO MY NEBULOUS FUTURE** I write to you with uncertainty, as I do not know what you have in store for me. Although, I hope I am living the life you’ll look back to and be proud of, I hope I have gotten all the necessary tools I need to make you live the dream I fantasise about. And if I am yet to acquire what I need, I hope I do before you come. I really hope I have set the foundation on which you will live all our dreams in one lifetime. Don’t forget to be grateful for the memories, all the lessons and all the people you may have crossed paths with as everything happen for a reason, and not always will it be for a good reason. Remember that being alive is the first step to achieving anything, so pay close attention to your health and don’t forget to smile more often. `Remember to Subscribe if you like my content` `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`
New Optimism But The Struggle Continues Greetings to you all. It’s a new year everywhere in the world, and everyone is buzzing. Merry here and there and the contagious optimism that comes with every New Year is in the air, spreading faster than the Omicron variant of the COVID-19. When I started this article, I was going to write about something else, but I had dozed off twice on the first paragraph that I decided to write about the struggle many face daily. Especially those who might have to write daily. Barely two weeks here, and I can attest that **THE STRUGGLE IS REAL.** Despite the optimism flowing around, the dawn of a new year does not nullify the struggle that comes with being alive. By struggle, I do not necessarily mean hardship. But, being alive itself is no easy task, that’s why there’s an increase in concern for one’s health. People go for check ups to stay ahead and up to date about of their health status, more and more people are exercising now to stay fit and healthy. If you’ve ever indulged in any form of exercise, you’d agree with me that it is not easy at all. Aside the struggle to stay healthy, people struggle daily to provide – at the very least – their basic needs. And to do this, they work and try to earn money, so they can afford to pay their bills and provide for themselves or their family. Many persons here can relate to the kind of struggle we go through as writer, there are times you struggle to come up with that perfect topic for your article, and an even greater struggle is what to write about. And you spend a lot of time thinking about what to write, and how to write about it. While this might come easy for many, a lot of people struggle with it daily. On New Year’s eve, I was watching a documentary about *Predator and Prey* on Nat Geo, and I thought about how there is a balance in struggle, and even though a prey quakes in fear at the sight of a predator, one does it make it easy for the other, as there is a struggle to stay alive and a struggle to have daily bread. Even though we’ve been infected by the optimism that comes with the new year, let’s not go with the notion that everything would come easy this New Year. This can get better, Yes! But that is if you continue with the struggle for something better. Keep on working hard and putting in the work and you will surely reap the fruits of your hard work. **CLOSING REMARK** I am sure many of us have come into the New Year with resolutions and goals we have set to achieve. You should know that don’t you shouldn’t set optimistic goals but rather, realistic ones. And while optimistic goals might leave you disappointed because you couldn’t achieve them, realistic goals are much more achievable. It is still Day 1 into the New Year, and you still have 364 days left to achieve your goals. Be strong, as the road might be tough. Stay resilient and never give up, and in the end, you will come out victorious with a smile on your face, and proud of what you have achieved for yourself. Let me leave you with a line from *Drake's Miss Me* `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤` Special thanks to @Abubakar450 for the sponsorship, I appreciate the faith you have shown in me. Thank You 🤗

Thank You 2021, Welcome 2022 It will be a New Year in a few hours, the event that marks the complete revolution of earth round the sun, and the beginning of a new journey. That’s means all the yearly celebrations such as birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Eid, among others comes again. While some part of the world are already into the new year, some other part are still behind. I have always been fascinated about Time Zones and how one is in the future and the other is in the past. Say I travel from Australia to the US, does that mean I have time travelled? But not at the speed of light of course. The year has come and almost ended, and at the beginning, I never saw it taking this turn that it had. I started the year oblivious of the existence of a platform such as read.cash, I had not thought it be writing my heart out and enjoying it in the process. I had only learnt about it in the last quarter of 2021 and I glad to be here now, as I have met amazing people from different part of the world. And to be honest, it feels good being here. The most of the year has been a stressful on especially when it comes to my academic life. There has been lots of work to do and it was all happening too fast that I feel like I missed out on the fun but not the work. All in all, I am grateful for the strength I needed to persevere through it. I believe before I move on from the year, it is important to be grateful for all it had brought me, and all it had taught me. As I believe gratitude can turn what we have into enough and more, so, **THANK YOU 2021** I don’t think I want to make any resolutions for 2022 as I feel that might put me in a box, and I would want to go out of my way to not disappoint myself. Thus, making me miss out on the present simply because I am trying to not go over a defined path I had promised to take. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying it is bad to set resolutions. People are different, and if that works for you, fine, do it. Even though I have no resolutions for the new year, I have certain goals I want to meet. There might be no political difference between **goals** and **resolutions**. I believe there is a grammatical difference, and in my context, using goals is much more appropriate. I have said in my article The Promises of Christmas that I want to: https://read.cash/@Aimure/promises-of-christmas-32fed90e Read at least 12 books in 2022; And resume my Spanish lessons again. It is much more than resuming the lessons, as I have to be consistent with it, as only consistent practice can breed perfection. Also, in the article My Crypto-ry, I had said I want to dive into SmartBCH this new year, and I am going in with high hopes and my fingers crossed. Prepared for the worse and praying for the best at the same time. Although, I am confident that I won’t regret it, as I have seen the good many have benefitted from it since it started. That’s not to say it has been all roses and no thorns, I just believe it will be more Rosy. https://read.cash/@Aimure/my-crypto-ry-cf6b6e1a With the New Year comes the end of the holidays– which I do not look forward to. Schools, organisations, workplaces and businesses that had gone on holidays will be opening up for the start of a New Year. I hope we have had a memorable New Year. I wish everyone the best as we start another chapter together. Thank You for a memorable 2021. `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`
Special appreciation to @Jehoshaphat for my first sponsorship 😁. I am so excited, thank you for the support.
My Crypto-ry People are usually speechless to to shock when I tell them about the many opportunities I have missed out on in the crypto world. When I look back at how much I would have made, I would definitely have a substantial amount of money now. I remember how my crypto journey started about 4 years ago when I was introduced to coinpot, a site/wallet I could claim about 6 different cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Doge, Dash, and Litecoin) from different faucets every 5 or 15mins. The plus is that for every day, you claim consecutively, loyalty bonus increase by one percent (the highest being 100%) and I remember maintaining 100% for almost a month. And also, for every claim you make from respective faucets, you get 3 coinpot tokens worth as much as 3 Bitcoin satoshi at that time. With the price of Bitcoin around $9,000 — $10,000 then, it was all that mattered to me. I would claim enough of the other coins and swap them to Bitcoin before withdrawing to Luno Exchange, from which I will convert to fiat and withdraw to my bank account. Although I wasn’t so consistent at first, it was when I introduced some of my friends to the Site that I became more committed to the daily claiming. I remember having thousands of Doge coin and 1 Doge coin was worth less than $0.0017 at that time. That was not all, I remember checking out Ethereum on the same Luno exchange in 2019, and the price then was less than $200. At that time, I had told myself that I’ll use some of my money to buy a $100 worth of Ethereum and keep for later. Imagine if I had then, I’d have owned over 0.5 Ethereum now and I’m sure we all know the price is over $3,000 at the moment. Why am I sharing this? So others can learn from my mistakes and how indecision can be a terrible decision. Over the past 3 years, there has been over ×5 increase in price Bitcoin, over ×100 increase in price of Dogecoin, and almost ×100 increase in price of Ethereum. Do I wish I had been decisive and held on to all those assets until now. Absolutely Yes! But when I look back, I glad those things had happened, because I have learnt a valuable, albeit expensive lesson. And it marked the beginning of an amazing crypto journey for some of my friends I had introduced to Coinpot at that time. There is a friend of mine that I had introduced to Coinpot and that sparked his interest in Crypto that he got involved in a lot of airdrops and I can tell you that he’s made millions from airdrops of different shit coins on different networks. Now that SmartBCH is here, and it has come to stay, I had promised myself not to make the same mistake twice, and in that light, I have started learning all I can about sBCH so I know how to invest in it wisely with the help of other people who are quite knowledgeable in that area. Of course I know that there are risks as it is inherent in any investment. But I’d take my chances as see how it goes. I am hopeful it will go well in the end. With many new projects coming up, and some old ones gaining grounds. I plan to start with by minting cattos NFT and keep an eye on some dip I can buy. It’s a simple way thing of buy low and sell high. And if I see prospects in some token, I will keep long term. **DISCLAIMER: This is not by any means a financial advise, and always** ***DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH*** **before investing in anything.** `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`
A Million Dollar Question Earlier, I was reading an article by @FarmGirl titled I wouldn't. Would You? And when I was about to make a comment, I realized there was a lot I wanted to say, so, I decided to write an article about it instead since she said we could. Basically, the million dollar question was '***WOULD YOU TRADE 10 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE FOR FAME AND FORTUNE?'*** https://read.cash/@FarmGirl/i-wouldnt-would-you-56cb6efc I had decided to write about the question from different views, as people are wired differently, and individual experiences among other factors have shaped us into the person we are and that will greatly influence our personal response to the question above. To start with, let's ask a married man A, a man in his 50s with 4 children. A man who has laboured hard for most of his life, day and night, 7 days a week. But all his hard labour is barely enough to provide 2-square meals for his family, much more 3-square meals. A man who his willing to sweat blood, just so none of his children would go to bed on an empty stomach. Even though he can't afford to send any of his children to acquire a proper education, at least he should try all he can to keep them from starving to death. This man knows he is growing older, and with a life expectancy of 65-75 for the average human, death will come knocking sooner or later. Bearing in mind he has worked and laboured hardly for most of his life, thus, he has overworked his body. How long do you think this man would last? 70 years? 80? Perhaps 120 years? You put before him this question. What do you think he would choose? He thinks about his family, having all and more than he has laboured for, just one last sacrifice, and his family will never starve to bed, his children will get the best of education money can afford. A man who society has branded the breadwinner of the family, one last win and his family will own a bakery. What do you think? Furthermore, let's ask another married man B, not rich or famous, but he is also not poor. He's contented with what he has, and what he has can fend for the basic needs of his family. A man who doesn't have to work day and night 7 days a week. A man who can afford a decent education for his children, not the best education money can buy, but what he can afford can be sold with the best. You put before him this question. What do you think he would choose? He thinks about his family, how far he has come and all he has achieved and all he could achieve if he lives for another 10 years. He is fulfilling his social responsibilities to his family. He has given them all what he can afford to, and what he can afford is luxury in the eyes of many. What do you think he would choose? I remember seeing a post on Instagram, the picture had the following inscription: ***MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING, BUT IT RANKS UP THERE WITH OXYGEN*** Money makes the world go round, and this knowledge is what the greed of many stem from. No matter how much they have, they are never contented, and they want more and more and more. I am not saying that Mr. A and Mr. B will certainly choose opposite choices, I am merely painting a picture, one with specific details that can make people affect people's interpretation of it. I guess the point I am trying to make is: there are factors and circumstances that would influence one's answer to the question. As a Nigerian, I am familiar with stories of people doing rituals that requires human sacrifices just so they can be rich, not minding the consequences. If one can kill to be rich, what is 10 years of their life to them? I strongly believe wealth is relative, as long as you are contented with the little you have, you are wealthy. Besides, another yardstick for wealth is health. Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤

2020–Two The year 2021 is only three days away from ending, giving life to 2022 as our planet completes yet another revolution round the sun. A journey it started many months ago. As the year comes to an end, people are looking forward to the new year with hope hinged on great expectations and accompanied by plans and resolutions, a new year where tourists can travel freely without restrictions, a new year where GDP is higher and inflation lower. Since the emergence of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus, the world has been thrown into a state of caution and panic. Some days ago, during a local evening news, I had overhead the reporter saying that while the Omicron variant isn’t as deadly, it spreads much faster. Thus, the rate of infection has increased dramatically. Earlier this evening, I read that France plans to enforce more restrictions as from January 2022 following a high number of new COVID-19 cases on Christmas day. This news had prompted to to ask my sister who was with me at that time. ***“What if next year is another 2020?”*** And she replied ***“God forbid”***. That was how I decided what I’d write about and also the title of the article. Despite the discovery of COVID late in the year 2019, it wasn’t until 2020 the world felt the impact of the virus, and it was tagged a pandemic. The rate it was spreading had prompted many countries to go into lockdown in 2020 to curb the spread and contain the virus, there seemed to have been a global economic standstill during the period of the lockdown as countries were losing millions daily. It wasn’t until the second half of the year many countries eased the lockdown to salvage all they could from the wrecked economy. 2021 came, and with the discovery of the vaccine, there was a breath of fresh air for human population as a whole. Though, many people are yet to be vaccinated (myself included). The vaccine had eased what seems to be a global burden. But with the Omicron variant in the air, a lot of people are getting vaccinated and countries like Israel have even opted to give a third dose of the vaccine to her people. At the rate the new variant is spreading, countries might be forced to enforce restrictions and even go on lockdown in 2022. The real question is: **CAN COUNTRIES SURVIVE ANOTHER LOCKDOWN?** Considering they have barely recovered from the last one. I suppose before such a decision is taken by any country, Economists as well as analysts will be called upon by the government of such country to for advice and surely the best course of action for the people will be taken. Personally, I look forward to a better new year. With the vaccine, I believe there is hope, and the world would heal from the wound inflicted by the COVID-19 and all these hard times will soon be history, one that has taught us a valuable lesson we will never forget. I expect many countries still recovering from the effect of the lockdown on their economy to bounce back this coming year and flourish. I expect borders to be open freely to anyone who wants to come in. 2022 will not be another 2020 but instead, the end of this tragicomedy which started in 2020. CONCLUSION We all have a part to play in this global movie, as we are all members of the cast crew. This coming year, I plan to get vaccinated, and I strongly advise that those yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should get vaccinated as soon as possible and observe safety measures already in place. I believe that this will help bring an end to this movie once and for all. `Remember to Subscribe if You Like My Content` `Thank you for reading 🖤🖤`

The Irony of Technology As technology continue to get better and better each day, there has been brows raised as to whether it actually saves our time and make life easier for us, or help us waste it. There have also been questions about how addictive technology is and how the lack of it can be devastating to one’s mental health. Over the years, innovative inventions have been aimed at making life easier and getting tasks done faster and more conveniently with the lowest energy input. While I completely agree that communication has been easier and better with the invention of the telephone/smartphone, one could argue that it had also made bad things easier to do too such as fraud, hacking etcetera. Many young people today spend a lot of time on their phones, laptops and other gadgets such as game consoles, among others. And there has been growing concerns about how this has affected the lives of young people especially. Could all those time be better spent in doing other things? I was surfing the Internet earlier, trying to see if something to write about will come to me. And my mom came into the room, saw me and said ***“This your phone, I feel sorry for it”***. According to her, I am always on my phone doing one thing or the other. I have even heard my dad say that I am a phone addict (😂😂😂 If only they have met some of my friends). While that is debatable, I suppose the reason they are saying all this is because they think all I do with my phone is play games and chat online. Since I was introduced to read.cash, the time I spend on social media platforms such as Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook has reduced drastically. This is because what I do here is more beneficial and educative. And truth is chatting over a long period of time is not my thing, I’d rather call you and we talk. Besides, reading articles published by other users, interacting with the articles, doing research about one token you read about and constantly monitoring the crypto market is no easy task. Not to mention coming up with an article to post. Truth is, I have learnt more with my phone than I have in all the classroom I have been in combined. And this is simply because with my phone, I have access to unlimited knowledge as long as I can access the Internet. I can read books on my phone, so I don’t have to go through the stress of going to a library. Instead of sitting in front of a TV watching a movie or a show, I can just stream it directly from my phone from anywhere, long as you have data and good network signal. Although, I for one know that it is easy to get addicted to gadgets and a lot of young people are actually addicted to their phones. Like the other day, I was in a public bus and all the young commuters in the bus with me were quiet, busy with their phones. And that made me think about the irony of how phones are supposed to make us socialise more via the Internet but in reality, we are socialising less. What happened to the stories strangers used to regale each other with as they commute to their respective destinations? Can you blame us? If I have a smartphone, I can practically do anything with/from my phone. I don’t have to go out to the mall when I can make orders from various online shops. I don’t have to walk to the bus station when I can order a cab with my phone. So, tell me, what is the use of having a smartphone that can do all these conveniently and not getting my money’s worth by making optimal use of it? Fact is, technology is not going to slow down for us, as it is moving so fast because of us. And it is up to us to personally manage how we use it so we don’t get addicted. And doing so requires discipline, making the extra effort of taking time off your phone. And do something productive such as painting a picture, exercising. `Remember to subscribe if you like my content` **Thank you for reading 🖤🖤**

What is the Price? I have always been one to ask questions with **WHY**, I believe that questions that have the three letter words truly satisfies one’s curiosity when properly answered. While some of the **WHYs** I ask are said out loud to people, there has been some I have asked myself and spent time pondering all by myself. Today, I am thinking out loud about one of the WHYs I have asked myself. ***WHY IS THERE A PRICE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING?*** This is a question I have thought about on my own, and I don’t think I have ever indulged anyone. So, I have decided to write about it and indulge users of this platform. Therefore, I’ll very much appreciate if you air your view in the comment section, let’s interact. Let me cite an example with something we all are familiar with, **BITCOIN CASH**. There is a price attached to our beloved cryptocurrency and we all know if we want to purchase it, it would cost us money depending on amount we want to buy. One could argue that the delicate balance planet earth is paying the price for the action of its inhabitants. Carbon emissions by humans has resulted to global warming, thus, affecting the weather and climate that plays an important part in the cycle of life on earth. While a lot of things have monetary value/price, I am purposefully writing about the things we don’t necessary pay for with money. And this is where I need your indulgence the most. **FAMILY** It is no coincidence I started with this, because I hold family in the highest esteem. As I am an avid believer of *FAMILY ABOVE ALL*. That is not to say family are only those related to you by blood. No, it isn’t true. While you don’t choose family related to you by blood, you can choose family not related to you by blood, and these are your *FRIENDS*. What is the price we pay for family? Is it the unconditional love that can sometimes be too much of a burden to bear or the is the weakness or genetically transmitted susceptibility to certain health conditions such as asthma, sickle cell, hypertension, among others. Is it much more than that? Or would you say there is no price we pay for family? **LOVE** I speak specifically of romantic love. The kind of love that configures your happiness to be based on someone else’s, is that the price we pay? The dependency of our happiness on someone else. Or is it the '*blindness'* to their faults and shortcomings? Or living in the illusion that there exists perfection and this person we are in love with is a perfect example — the seeming loss of all our sensibilities. Or is our freedom the price we pay for love? **LIFE** Of course being alive is the what comes first before any other thing, but I saved it for last because I felt it will make a better ending than the other topics. One has to be alive first to have a family and also love someone else. What is the price we pay for life. For existing in the world. One of the characteristics of living things according to basic biology is **DEATH**. Do we die because we have life? Is death the ultimate price of existence or there is some other price we pay for life? Is death is merely a point in the cycle of life for all living creature and nothing more than a characteristic? **NOTE: THESE ARE MERELY RANDOM THOUGHTS AND IF I MIGHT ADD** ***PHILOSOPHICAL QUESTIONS*** **THAT I ASK IN MY HEAD. WRITTEN FOR INTERACTIVE PURPOSES AND NOTHING MORE. FEEL FREE TO AIR YOUR VIEW.** `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`

Promises of Christmas The anticipated Christmas finally came and is almost over now just 1 hour to go and currently, fireworks are saying goodbye to Christmas with a bang of colours. Although, it was generally a happy day for me, as I was with family and there was lots of food and drink. For some reason, a lot of our neighbours gave food specially to me. It felt good to know that I am in their thoughts. I woke up to the aroma of chicken cooking and everyone busy doing one thing or the other. Had to do some laundry first as I had planned to do it today. Then I had breakfast. After which I went to the football field in my area to watch some local football game. I love football 😄. I got back home just before noon and was resting as I replied some texts and messages on my WhatsApp. It was then I decided to open one of the apps on my phone moon+ reader. It’s basically like a library app, where you can download books to read. Going through my book shelf on the app, I realised there are many books I had downloaded just over a year ago hoping to read them because at that time, I had said I wanted to resume reading books as I used to the years before. To my disappointment, I had not done what I intended to do a year ago because I didn’t read all the books I downloaded. I wasn’t happy about that. That made me to think about my reading in general, and how it had declined over the last couple of years. At the very worst, I should read at least one book a month. That’s equivalent to 12 books in a year. That wasn’t the end of my disappointment, as I remembered there was another promise I had failed to keep. In 2015, I created an account on Duolingo because I was interested in learning Spanish. Duolingo is an app one can use to learn different languages, over the years, they have increased the number of courses to take when learning a particular language. And for the past 6 years, I have only been able to successfully complete unit one for the Spanish lessons out of 10 units. And only 37% into the lessons in unit two. It was this slow progress in learning is as a result of inconsistency on my part, that prompted me to promise myself a year to do better this year and be more consistent. A year later and I am still where I was a year ago. The best I have done this year was a ***37-day streak between August and September***. And I spent those times revising all the lessons I had learnt in unit one. On the 38th day, I had gone back to default and since then, I haven’t practiced any lessons. I spent the day thinking about how I had failed at keeping the promises I made to myself. It hasn’t been an easy year for me, but that is no excuse, as I feel I could have done better in my personal growth. That is not to say I had not learnt a lot this year, but I could have learnt more. And the worse part about learning is that you tend to forget what you have learnt over time if you do not put them to practice. I ended up making another promise to read more books than I did in the past two years, and also practice Spanish and be consistent so that in a year’s time, I’d be more fluent than I am now. And this time, I hope to keep my promise to myself as personal growth is important. I am sure many of us had a great day today. Happy New year in advance. 🎄 `Thank You For Reading 🖤🖤`

More than Bitcoin Cash Bitcoin Cash and cryptocurrency as a whole I have observed to be a trending topic on the platform. I am particularly in awe of the things I have learnt about BCH and crypto in just over 48 hours that I have been going through articles and comments on articles. The awareness and exposure I have gotten in such a short period of time is quite overwhelming. I have read som article entries for the ongoing #MythBurstingCompetition by @SofiaCBCH . Unfortunately, there isn't much I know about Bitcoin and crypto, but this platform has been an eye opener, and I know there's still much to learn. Article entries I have read and are worthy of note include ones by @HappyBoy , he talks about how there are propaganda against flipstarters (Which I had no idea of until I read about it in his article) campaigning for the promotion of cryptocurrencies to downplay their efforts. You can read it here. Also, that made by @FarmGirl, that explains the many uses of crypto, and how merchants are adopting it as a means of payment, you can read it here. And that by @Giddyboy that emphasizes the easy-to-use characteristic of Bitcoin and how many like myself have the erroneous impression that you need a special skill like knowledge of programming to use Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies click here to read it. https://read.cash/@HappyBoy/myth-bursting-flipstarter-is-a-political-tool-a3bec750 https://read.cash/@FarmGirl/bitcoin-can-buy-pretty-much-anything-6810750d https://read.cash/@Giddyboy/myth-bursting-bitcoin-is-complicated-and-you-need-to-know-code-7b8f4f10 While the platform has served as a means for newbies like me to learn about the world of cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin Cash, the knowledge I have been exposed to in less than three days here is not limited to just the crypto world, as I have come across many articles about personal experiences and life in general. And the life lessons and wisdom I found in these articles are of extreme value and importance, as they have re-shaped my perception of certain things and also gave a birth to new perspectives. I have joined several communities I reckon are there to serve specific purposes, and hope as time goes on, I learn more and more and see the world through the eyes of different people, views shaped by their personal experiences and perception, culture, tradition and beliefs. I have been a preacher of something this platform clearly rewards, and that is **CONSISTENCY.** I have observed users who have been consistent in their writing and interactions, and tht is something I aim to emulate. I had read all the welcome post and articles sent to me and that have driven me to set goals I hope to achieve as time goes on. As to achieve a long term goal, one has to achieve a series of short term goals. The essence of writing to to reach out to audience, and I have set a goal for a number of subscribers I hope to have by the end of the year. But to be listened to, you have to first listen to those who have been there before yo. Which is why I have subscribed to other users too. So I can read their stories and interact with them, make contributions when I have one and ask questions when I am have any. I hope to create good original contents and be encouraged by other users too however way that can. Because encouraging people goes a long way. In conclusion, It is a day to Christmas, and I hope you are happy and having a good tim? I am spending Christmas with family as I have always done and it is nice having everyone around for the Yuletide. It is about a week to the end of the year, and I want to use this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year in advance. `Don't forget to subscribe if you like my content` **Thank You For Reading** 🖤🖤

A Christmas Miracle in Disguise As a child, when I was old enough to discern the unusual from the usual, I always looked forward to **Christmas** — the season of jolly. It is the time of the year when I had access to more food and drinks than I could eat. It was the time when family, friends of family and even strangers gave me money. More notes than I could keep in my pocket. I had always looked forward to Christmas every year not just for the food and drinks and money, but also for the scary yet exciting sound and echoes of knockouts, the beautiful display of fireworks as they kiss the dark sky with a melodious bang, and decorate it with colourful sparkles. More importantly, I have always looked forward to Christmas because it is the time of the year I spend with many of my family members (both immediate and extended). To eat and drink and jolly with family and see the smiles on their faces and laughter from tales and jokes, that was golden. That was what I looked forward to the most. It was four days to Christmas, about 11 years ago, the day my dad was supposed to come home with new Christmas clothes for us, clothes we’d wear on Christmas day, mighty and proud as we regaled other children in the neighbourhood with stories about how many chicken we had eaten, how much we had gotten from relatives that came visiting, and how many knockouts we planned to buy before the end of the day. But it would seem Santa had a surprise in store for us. Santa came in the form of my father's colleague, with a parcel of disappointment wrapped with sad news and panic, news of my father being hospitalised, as he was attacked on the road, and his attackers had absconded with his motorcycle. That was the first time I heard that my father was in the hospital. I could remember the feeling the news gave me, the feeling of terror and I thought this was another of those moments where the worst had happened but the time is not right to drop the bomb, especially in the presence of children. I remember my mother, distraught, vehemently refuting the news. But it was the shock that got the better of her, her subconscious mistaking reality for nightmare. She left immediately with my father's colleague. That night, I remember crying to sleep, a young boy, who thought the worst had happened to his father. His Red Jolly Christmas had turned black in the blink of an eye. My mom came home the next morning and I could tell she barely had any sleep the previous night. Although, she was somewhat better than when she left the previous day. I walked close to her after she sat on the sofa in the sitting room and asked ***“mummy is daddy dead?”*** She replied graciously ***“No my dear, daddy is alright”*** I asked ***“Is he coming back today?”*** she answered ***“no, he isn’t. He will be back next tomorrow”****.* My dad came home a day to Christmas with a bandage around his head to the lower side of his right ear. It was a relief to see him. But, sad to see he wasn’t with any new clothes for me and my siblings. That Christmas was not the same, it was not near the best I had, but it was the most important as it was the one that taught me the importance of health and how one misfortune can ruin the delicate memory I have of Christmas. A memory that had become a tradition. That one Christmas recalibrated my perception of how happiness and sadness are complimentary, and how only when sadness has stained the fabric of happiness will you value and cherish the memories that brings happiness. That one Christmas had made me vow that as long as I can, I will always spend Christmas with my family, as though that one Christmas had created a debt I have to pay back with love, happiness and kindness for the rest of my life especially in Christmas season. Introduction to the World of Bitcoin Cash Curiosity lead to questions and questions gave birth to answers, I have always been a curious person, and never have I believed curiosity killed the cat, au contraire, curiosity made the cat wiser. I haven't seen my brother @Gaiom for most of this year, since he schools in another state and he's always away when school is in session. Just last Saturday, I saw my brother for the first time after 4 months he's been away. We talked about things and I asked him why he hasn't been so active on social media platforms and he had said he barely had the time. Then I observed he's always busy with his phone and became curious about what he is doing if not social media. He replied *"social media that isn't a waste of time".*I asked *"which social media could be so interesting that you spend so much time on?"* He replied*"Read Cash".* And like a child, I started asking questions, and like a child that asks questions, I learned. That was how I got to know about this platform, and have been asking lots of questions about what it entails and all the information I could get from him. Although,he had said he isn't exactly knowledgeable about **EVERYTHING,** as he is barely 2 months old on the platform he gave me pointers and names of users who are more knowledgeable and could fill me in on other things I am not clear about. @Kushyzee he had said introduced him to the platform couple of months back, and it has been a*'citadel of learning'* for him ever since, as he has come to see the world through other people's experience and insights. Myself, I hope to experience all these amazing stories, and more importantly, learn more about life, culture and crypto as I am quite new to it, and don't know much about it. Well, in my defense, that isn't entirely my fault as my initial interest was nipped in the bud by my government when they banned crypto currency in the country. But the internet is there for me to know more and now I have the means to do that. Since I got a new phone about a month ago. Since I have someone who already has some experience here,he had filled me in on some of the competition going on on the platform, such as the FPL competition co-sponsored by Club1BCH and @Empress. I hope I can still join the competition since I play. I am also abreast of the Christmas events ongoing but I think I'll sit those ones out and take my time and familiarize myself with everything here. But should a new one come up, I will definitely jump on it. Since this is the first time I have heard of the platform, I had asked if this is popular among Nigerians in particula, and he had mentioned some big names who are Nigerians and I was shocked to learn about the likes of , @Princessbusayo , @Fexonice1 , @Valour , @Giddyboy, @Olasquare @King_Gozie , @Jehoshaphat among others. These are my fellow countrymen who has done well on the platfor, and I hope to follow in their footsteps, and I believe with hardwork and commitment, It can only get better and better. As time goes, I am sure I will familiarize myself more with other users and interact with people from around the globe and see the world through their eyes. I have been particularly fascinated and interested in other culture and knowledge. And to do all these through writing and reading and interacting with other users, it couldn't be any better than this. I am happy to be here. And I hope I am welcomed graciously with open arms and the warmth that would make the cold of this morning bearable 😄😄.
