All man for himself On a bright Monday morning, we were on the assembly ground. As usual, we sang praise and worship, recited the national anthem and the pledge. The Hymn from the Song of praise was the next activity on the assembly. The Assembly Prefect shouted " let's open our S.O.P to ***Hymn 444***; *La la la la la la la la..... (Let's go)* *๐ถ๐ถThere is a green hill far away, without a city wall, where the dear Lord was crucified, who died to save us all. ๐ถ ๐ถ* As we were about to sing the chorus, *We may.*....(we heard a gunshot) The whole assembly scattered. Students ran with speed to hide. Some went to their classes, some ran to the toilet, while some slept on the floor right on the assembly. Those running stepped on them, some fell while running as well. Songs of praise hymn book (S.O.P.) were flying in the whole place. The teachers were not left out, they ran also to hide. There was this particular male teacher that flew over the fence to the other side. Who shot the gun? The sound of the gun was close, it shows it was shot in the school compound. For about 5 minutes, we were still in our hiding places, and we saw no one coming in with a gun. It was when Pastor Olatunji came in we realized it was his car's tyre that burst. One after the other, we all started coming out from our hiding places. We all laughed when we realized that there was no gunshot. It was just the sound made by the burst tyre. Come to think of it *"Pastor Olatunji said".* What if it was truly a gunshot?. This is exactly how you were going to run without looking for each other. Look at songs of praise all over the floor. We all kept quiet as the man of God started preaching. **All man for himself.** He said that is the problem we have in common in the world. Humans don't care about their neighbors in times like that. They can even betray each other to be free out of any captivity. He said according to Hebrews: 13, "*Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for doing so, some might have entertained angels unawares. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body".* God told us to love. We can only live in a Peaceful world if we learn to care for our neighbors in times of tribulations. He rounded up his speech by saying; **"If I was amongst you, and it was truly a gunshot. I would also run because I'm a human, but I would make sure I save one of my neighbors"** We gave him a round of applause as he left the assembly to call a mechanic to fix his car. **Thanks for reading** ๐โค๏ธ
