And that was it! You know what it is. It's the time for our reporting. It's a new month again so hooray for October and hello November! Today is November 1. Instead of celebrating the scary stuff, why not celebrate the life of our departed ones? That is what "Undas" traditionally is for us. Not the trick or treating. We can go visit the graves of our loved ones anytime. However, since it is a holiday here in our country, it's the opportune time for the family to come…

The loser in all of us I just finished watching IT: Chapter Two. It did have that surprise factor and the scary music. The movie has shown the struggles of the characters growing up in that town. The monster attacks your weaknesses and fears. What is your deepest fear? What are your secrets that you don't want others to know for the fear of losing them? I like the parting words in the end where it said *we are all losers and the good thing about being a loser is that we got…

Of coins and a ring: A day in a life When I say coins, not cryptocurrency, no. While I appreciate accessories and body ornaments, I'm not someone who would use one. I remember when I was younger, my mom has some jewelries and other accessories. I used those in school and as a teenager. Some of those were given to friends or misplaced. Or someone borrowed and didn't return it. I was gifted by friends with rings but misplaced those too. A friend gifted me and one other friend…

Jump around, jump up, jump up and get down! To the 90s kid, that should ring a bell. If not, here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhzpxjuwZy0 I just remembered that song when I started this article. I always start with a title and then go on and write what I need to write. Only when I am not satisfied with the title will I go back to it and change it or add or whatever. Why that title? It's because I just did some jumping around. I found myself having some time so I…

R E D N O T I C E: Did you notice? Robbing a bank. A con artist. Criminal. Those are some of the deeds that people would go through just to get what they want. It's all about the money. It's all about greed. Selfishness. A lot of factors could have caused this. It maybe that we are forced to do it because of whatever situation we are in like poverty. Ever wonder if you are to steal something what would it be? I'm not saying that stealing is good. Just for fun's sake. What…

Alimuom: Memories and nostalgia Alimuom Art Exhibit at the Baguio Convention Center *Alimuom* is the local term for petrichor - the scent that the earth emits after it had not rained for a long time. It's not the smell of the sewers and canals and pavements but the earth, the ground, the soil. This is better appreciated if you are away from the city. There is that comforting almost pleasant smell to it. That is the inspiration from which the artists built their works from…

The unplanned plan: Food, nature, coffee and so much more I mentioned in my previous article that our plan last Sunday was to go to the art exhibit and then head on to the grocery before going home. We were able to go to the exhibit then decided to eat lunch before doing our grocery. https://read.cash/@ARTicLEE/alimuom-memories-and-nostalgia-7769f737 The establishment where the grocery is located has places to dine and other shops but most of them were closed. That place has…

PHOTOBLOG: Six-legged horse and 31k steps Finally, I was able to reach 30,000 steps in a day. As always, I started before the sun was up. I do that because I can get more steps and enjoy my walk more because it's not that hot and there are less vehicles along the way. I jogged from home to the park and jogged/walked to where I can see the sunrise. On my way there, I took a photo of the moon for it was still shining brightly like it does not want to leave. The after photo was…

That little store was my lifesaver Our viand earlier today was chicken liver cooked in soy sauce with potatoes, leeks and pepper. We call that adobo. It is so much better when eaten with rice. I was not able to take a photo of it though so I have nothing to share. However, it did remind me of those days long ago of a sundry store that also serves meals. I was in high school then. I have mentioned in my other articles that I studied far from home, about eight-hour bus ride…

Of tiny splatter and other stories ***Where did it come from?*** Seeing my previous article, I was reminded of another incident one night when we were sitting outside our dorm. I think it was a weekend. The night was warm and we wanted to cool off so we brought out the long benches from our multipurpose room (that serves as a living room, receiving area, study area, worship hall) and placed those on the lawn. It was one of those nights where some would show off their skills…

PHOTOBLOG: Road scenes here and there Last weekend, me and some friends headed to the lowlands to visit one of the beaches down there. We had a not so early start for we had to wait my partner to finish work before going on a trip. We then waited to be picked up across this colorful mural that is yet unfinished. Maybe by now or tomorrow it is already done. We were at the agreed upon meeting place a few minutes early. We didn't have to wait for long. We left the mountains in…
