If I were your tour guide for one day right here in Calamba… We’d start our morning walking through history Rizal Shrine, the old church, and photos beside the tallest Rizal statue and giant Calambanga pot Then we’d head out to see her majestic Mount Makiling, sometimes clear and bright, sometimes wrapped in soft clouds plus the calm, wide shores of Laguna Lake, peaceful and full of life. Lunch would be pure Laguna goodness: sinigang, fresh grilled fish, crisp pako salad,…
Usually, it would be at the Manokan Country since Chicken Inasal in Bacolod is famous. However, if I would be given a chance, I would take them to Megaworld instead. It's safer than downtown area and there's lot of cafes, resto and recreational facilities, too. Ps.: I wouldn't take the to The Ruins. It's not part of Bacolod and it's located on a different city.
If a visitor had only one day in my city, I would take them on a simple tour that shows both the busy and relaxing sides of life in Metro Manila. We would start the morning with a Filipino breakfast at a local restaurant and enjoy classics like tapsilog or pandesal with coffee. After that, I would take them to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) to walk around the parks, admire the modern buildings, and visit places like Venice Grand Canal Mall for pictures. For lunch, I would…
My city has huge potential for tourists and big canvas to witness . The visitor coming to my city for one day only so I will took him to Derawar fort. Derawar Fort is a massive 9th-century square fortress featuring 40 towering bastions located in the heart of the Cholistan Desert . Originally built in the 9th century by the Hindu Rajput ruler Rai Jajja Bhatti and later reconstructed in the 18th century by the Abbasi Nawabs of Bahawalpur. Listed on UNESCO's Tentative List…
If a visitor came to my city and asked me to be their guide for a day, I already know where our first stop would be: The police station. 🚔😂 Not because we’re in danger… but because I’d probably need to ask the police for directions. 😭 The truth is, I barely know the beautiful places around my own city. That’s one of the disadvantages of being a workaholic introvert. 😂 I mostly know the routes between home, work, and wherever I need to go. So if you ask me to be your tour…
I'm my city there are different landmarks very interesting. I would take them to see a famous cave which is a turists attraction.
It looks like it's going to rain tonight. For me it's mixed feelings. The rain will make the room temperature to be cool, I will sleep well tonight but if it rains there won't be electricity. I think it only happens here or does the same thing happen in your country?
Central Texas Weather October 1, 2026 Our summer has been beastly! The heat would not let up. But now it's autumn. If you can there is such a season as autumn in Austin, Texas. The days have been getting cooler. Although some people think it's still hot depending on where they live. At any rate, I turned the TV on for the local news, and the weatherman is saying that Central Texas is getting lots of rain. It's being caused by the storms that hit Hawaii. I'm looking at the…
Happy 1st day of the new month! 🍁 Crazy how it’s October already. That just also means winter is almost here. But first, we have to go on holiday! 🤓😂 It rained last night so now everything feels very gloomy. Hopefully the sun will still come out later since I’ll be mostly out today for work lol
If you ask me what my street sounds like on a normal evening, I would say it depends on the time. Around 6 PM to 8 PM, it’s usually noisy and busy. That’s when everyone seems to be rushing home. There’s traffic, motorcycles, cars, and lots of honking. You can even hear people complaining when the traffic gets too heavy. 😅 Sometimes I just sit at home and hear all the horns outside, and I already know it’s rush hour without even looking outside. But after around 8:30 or 9 PM,…
On a normal evening, my street has its own little soundtrack. You can hear motorcycles passing by, neighbors talking and laughing, kids still playing outside, and sometimes the sound of someone cooking dinner. There are also the occasional car horns, dogs barking, and vendors passing by. Nothing fancy, just ordinary sounds—but somehow, they make the street feel alive. These are the sounds I hear almost every day, and they remind me that life doesn’t have to be exciting all…
Pretty peaceful at night. There are a few cars or motorcycles passing by once in a while, but other than that, it’s mostly just quiet and calm. Honestly, I like it that way haha
Today being the last Saturday of the month is the compulsory Environment Sanitation. Shops are not allowed to be opened until 10am and movement is also restricted. You can only be seen outdoor if you're cleaning the gutter, cutting the grass or doing one thing or the other to clean your area. If you're caught roaming about or running a business before 10am you'll be arrested and forced to pay a fine.
On a normal evening, my street comes alive with familiar sounds. Kids laugh and play, fruit and vegetable sellers call out to customers, and birds chirp from nearby trees. The friendly chatter around the tandoor adds another warm layer to the evening atmosphere. It feels busy, lively, and homely. My street gets life on every evening loudly.
Here in our place the street is quiet at night (actually even in daylight haha) you will just hear random sounds like barking of dogs, or sounds of vehicles if one of our neighbor come home.
On a normal evening, my street sounds like a free-for-all concert where nobody bought a ticket. 😂 Mothers are shouting their children’s full names from one end of the street: “CHUKWUEMEKA! COME INSIDE!” "Bayo! Bayooooooo" Drunk men are arguing passionately over loud music, as if they are settling a national dispute. Boys are busy catcalling any young lady unfortunate enough to walk past, while vendors advertise their goods like they’re running prime-time commercials. And…
silent , birds , nature. I live in a village of mostly seniors after 6 in the evening there are very few on the roads by 10 at night till 4 in the morning its even less then that.
Hola buenos dias. Eres equipo verano o equipo invierno?
Günaydın 😊 Burada sonbahar kendini belli etmeye başladı. Rüzgar soğuk esiyor artık. Sizin oralarda havalar nasıl??
So far I don't see any strange shop nor business here in our place since we move in 4 years ago. But in the whole town, hmmmm Im not sure haha since our city is a little bit big we were not yet able to to roam around. Actually there are still lot of known places that we were not yet able to visit. Maybe one of these days we will try to visit one once in a while.
Barber shop cum Bike repairing point. I have one shop nearby my home where two different things are combined and running by one technician. Strange thing is I always saw rush ( people) on his shop . People getting hair cut and bike puncture, baby cut & repairing the tricycle, shave and filling the air in tires of bikes, nail trimming and screw tight, foot massage and oil change, hair style and bike tuning. 😂
in a small town just north of me there is the smallest post office I have ever seen and beside it a shop that sells only three thing none of which make sense given its location. cheap not so great coffee , high quality handmade socks...just socks. and used cars. the small shop always smells strange like a highschool locker room after a long day. themed and colored like its from the late 80s so yeah real odd vibes. will share pics one day if i remember to
I live in Bangladesh, a country with a rich and diverse food culture. If I had to choose one dish that shows my country’s real food, rather than the tourist version, I would choose a traditional Bengali meal of rice, fish, dal and different kinds of bhorta. This type of food is very common in Bangladeshi households. We eat rice with different types of fish, such as hilsa, rohu and catfish, along with dal, vegetables and bhorta. Bhorta can be made from potatoes, eggplant,…
My favorite seat at home? Probably the one where I can see the view outside. When you stay at home every single day, you sometimes stop appreciating the things you see all the time. What used to feel beautiful slowly becomes ordinary simply because it’s always there. Honestly, the view my eyes see most often inside the house is… kalat. 😂 The never ending mess, things that need to be cleaned, and all the little chores waiting to be done. So maybe my favorite view is actually…
The place I live is itself blessed The fresh air, pure environment and weather all are amazing to see everyday after waking up 😍⛰️🛖
Autumn season - probably my favorite season of all, if only it’s not as rainy as in the Netherlands during this time. 🍂🍁 Walked the dog this morning and this is how it looks like outside. 🍃 Saw a lot of students on their bikes going to school. Now, I’m off to work too! Let’s go get the bag. lol 🤑😂
Tourists? Not sure the voyeurs we get chasing about trying to see an albino squirrel are actually 'tourists'. Olney is a place your drive through on the way to go be a tourist elsewhere. Regardless, not any of them ever stumble across the 1889 tunnel under the railroad tracks on the very eastern edge of town...in fact most of the town folk do not realize it is there either...
Our community library is a must visit. It's filled with hold journals and newspapers. It's literally filled with the history of the state and LGA
The best thing about where I live is the simple local life tourists rarely see—peaceful streets, friendly people, homemade food, and beautiful everyday moments that feel like home. 🇵🇰❤️
The best thing about where I live is the simple, everyday life that tourists rarely get to see. There are little local stores, small food stalls, quiet streets, and familiar faces that make the neighborhood feel like home. Sometimes, the best food isn’t found in a fancy restaurant but from a small vendor who has been serving the community for years. I also love how people here can be so welcoming and helpful, even when they barely know you. These ordinary moments may not…
Pattan Minar is a historical 2,000-year-old solitary burnt-sienna brick tower located about 12 kilometers east of Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab, Pakistan. Pattan Minar is a historic landmark near my house which is known for its distinctive tall brick structure and mysterious history. Standing amid the surrounding desert landscape, the minar reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region and remains an important attraction for history lovers and visitors. Due to lack of…
When I lived in Venezuela, there was a road that ran along the edge of the city where you could find very fresh fruits and vegetables, and right in the middle of that stretch was a wonderful food stand—everything there was fresh and delicious. It was an oasis amid the chaos of the capital that very few people knew about, not even the locals.
This question is actually harder than I expected! Maybe I just don’t know my town that well, lol. Or maybe I’ve lived here for so long that I don’t notice the things that might seem interesting to other people. Our town is known for an annual religious procession that attracts many visitors because of the different statues and images. We also have small museums with pieces of local history, including old furniture made from narra and kamagong, with beautiful carvings and…
We have a sloping rail track which was originally designed to be an underground train track but the Nigerian government failed as usual. The rail track now looks like a slop/pit
I really couldn't say what tourists haven't enjoyed in my city. It’s a place where people have fun both day and night. The beach, the ocean, the sand, entertainment, local cuisine, and friendly, welcoming people. At night, there are walks, parties, and nightclubs for people of all ages. Places to skate, climb, go paragliding, and have bonfires. Rivers, lagoons, and plenty of entertainment—so much so that anyone who comes here ends up recommending places for others to visit.
The beach season is drawing to a close...
In our country, 7 AM is already late because that’s when classes and work usually start. By this time, the roads are already busy, and traffic is everywhere. For some people, 7 AM might still feel early, but here, it’s already the middle of the morning rush! The streets are full of students, workers, and commuters trying to get to their destinations on time.
Since my kid has no class today we woke up late so I do not have photos of our place at 7am. Probably our place is quiet during that time coz mostly of our neighbhors are either already went to their work or inside their house coz of the rainy weather.
Time check: it’s 9:25 am here in the Netherlands. This is how the other street where I live looks like right now. I live so close to the city center so it’s quite busy here with so many cars, buses, and bikers on the road (coincidentally not seen in the photo 😂). Just a while back, the garbage collector already took all the trash from the container in front of our apartment building. Yep, sounds about right cause it’s Monday again! 🤣
I live in the city, and here people’s day starts very early. Starting at 5 a.m., the streets are bustling— workers walking to their bus stops, cars pulling out of driveways, and people taking their children to school. I remember when I used to get up at 5 a.m. to get my son and myself ready for our daily routines. My son would wait for his ride at 6 a.m., and I’d leave for work at 6:30 a.m. Those were the days, weren’t they?
It looks like were living is the clouds, zero visibility haha
I’d imagine the town looking peaceful but already starting its daily rhythm. 🥰
In my country, many people love to sit on the sidewalks in front of their homes in the afternoons and watch passersby, just so they can find something to criticize about them. I've never been able to understand why anyone would do that for so many years of their life.
I’d love to see local grocery stores and markets from different countries! 🛒✨ They’re such a great way to discover everyday food, culture, and local products. 😊
🌧️ When the Streets Turn Into Rivers This is what heavy rain can look like in the Philippines. A road that is normally busy and full of life can quickly become covered in floodwater, carrying along trash and debris. For many families, this isn’t just an inconvenience—it can mean difficulty going to work, getting home safely, or protecting their belongings. I hope everyone affected by the flooding stays safe. Please avoid walking or driving through deep floodwater when…
in my continuing series of near dox shares ...this is my home town. I do not in fact live there but it is the town of which I "home" Sussex - https://sussex.ca/ I... do not know nor will explain. its nickname is cowtown. fun? no no its not. as always. pretty little town if the people were not so stops himself ahem. yes. great place to visit would not stay if I were you. tis cursed.
Do you mean the street that is more ordinary than most? Do you perhaps mean that street which is so ordinary that it is EXTRAordinary? (I've never understood how 'extraordinary' means 'special' instead of what it actually says) Okay, it is 5 in the morning and here is the rather ordinary street I live on. The only famous thing about it is I live on it. lol
A sunny morning on one of the streets in my city, just an ordinary day.
