Hello everyone @z_graeden again..Would like to share some photos from my mother's backyard again.

Rice, the main crop in our place. We gather them and store it in a rice grannary so that when there comes a time that one runs out of budget, the rice stored is taken out and prepared to be milled.

Dragon fruit,Ive clicked this last time now it starts to ripen..There are others but these ones were the bigger ones. This fruit has a lot of benefits in our body.It helps in people with heart diseAses, rich in antioxidants and nutrients, helps people with diabetes by lowering blood sugar, high in fiber, strengthens immune system and has prebiotics so that there's no reason not to add it in your diet.It may be expensive but worth it.If you've got some space to plant then grow it.It does not require too much attention as this is a dessert plant.

Squash,I guess we know all the benefits of this vegetable so as not lengthen the text I will not discuss it further.

Purple corn. It's freshly picked and newly cooked. My mother just picked them up,I did not get the chance to picked it myself coz baby's too clingy. This also has many benefits in the body for it,too contains lots of antioxidants, minerals and anti cancer properties

Snails. This creepy crawlies are very beneficial in the ecosystem for they serve as food to others in the food chain. It mainly feeds on leaves, rotting vegetables and soil. Its slime is very beneficial in skin care and now also in skin care products.

-- Edible insects, like caterpillars and grubs, are important sources of protein and should be considered an alternative in efforts to increase food security in central African countries, FAO said today.

"Edible insects from forests are an important source of protein, and unlike those from agricultural land, they are free of pesticides," said Paul Vantomme, an FAO forestry expert.

High nutritional value

For every 100 grams of dried caterpillars, there are about 53 grams of protein, about 15 percent of fat and about 17 percent of carbohydrates. Their energy value amounts to around 430 kilocalories per 100 grams. The insects are also believed to have a higher proportion of protein and fat than beef and fish with a high energy value.

Depending on the species, caterpillars are rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and iron, as well as various vitamins. Research shows that 100 grams of insects provide more than 100 percent of the daily requirements of the respective minerals and vitamins.

"Due to their high nutritional value, in some regions, flour made from caterpillars is mixed to prepare pulp given to children to counter malnutrition," said Paul Vantomme. "

Catterpillar.Like that of a snail this crawler has also benefits,of course it help in the ecosystem and foodweb. But little thing did I know that they are also edible.

Chicken..Daily eggs in the diet?No problem,my folks gather eggs everymorning..

Orchids.Others withered, too bad I did not get the chance to take a click. This one together with other variety haven't bloomed yet.

It's more fun in the country sides...
