I mentioned in my last post that we had one of our cars into the shop to diagnose a coolant leak and that I was hoping it would be an easy and inexpensive fix. It wasn't, but only because the pressure test turned up no evidence of a leak so there's no fix involved. 😀 I had them change the oil early just to make sure none of the coolant made its way into the oil pan and everything was fine there, too. Beats me where it went... best everyone involved can figure is that maybe the other shop didn't put a cap on properly and some of the coolant escaped as steam? Still going to keep an eye on the levels just to make sure everything's good after being topped off, but that's definitely a load off my mind. Interestingly enough, this shop mentioned that the serpentine belt in that car is cracking and that wasn't brought up at all on the inspection I paid the other shop to do last week... nor did they mention anything about the supposed oil leak the other shop identified and wanted me to pay ~$60 to trace with special dye in the new oil. 🤔
