Why Summer Makes Me Feel Alive Some people love winter for its cozy nights, but for me, summer is the season that makes me feel truly alive. There’s something about the long days, the laughter in festivals, and the smell of street food that awakens my spirit. Summer is when people come out, wear lighter clothes, and smile more. In Japan, summer festivals (matsuri) are full of fireworks, food stalls, and children in yukata. Even if I don’t wear yukata myself, the energy is contagious. Yes, it’s hot, sweaty, and sometimes unbearable but I’d rather embrace the sun than shiver in the cold. Summer reminds me that life is short, and we should live it fully just like fireworks that light up the sky for a few seconds but remain unforgettable.
