What rewards await those who are patient?

When you wait, you will have what you've waited for. You will attain your goal. You will reap the full harvest of what you have sown.

Unfortunately, not many of us can wait forever. Despite what we hear, we still most of the time can't wait. What therefore are we to do in order to be able to wait?

Upon reflection, I came up with 3 ways to at least be able to wait:

  1. Enjoy the waiting period. While waiting, pray. Isn't this a sweet thing? We get to pray while waiting. It occured to me that if in case we're waiting for a long time, then the longer prayer will be better! An instance where this is helpful is if, let us say, we are waiting for someone at a train station. You agreed on a time but the other is late. Also, waiting for your turn when paying bills and the line is long.

  2. We do worthwhile tasks while waiting. Say, you are waiting for your son to come home. You prepare his merienda and sweep the house. Before you know it, he is already home. Another is when you have to wait for your significant other. In here, it is best to combine prayer and patience.

  3. While waiting, count with the clock. This is so when you are cooking. You can't really be absent-minded when cooking because timing here is essential. Don't try to write poetry while cooking, or you'll end up burning your meal.

And with these 3 ways, what rewards await you?

The ultimate reward in waiting is having waited forever but you still did it. You waited patiently and everything went well. Even if it does not, there is the satisfaction that you at the very least you did wait.

Just a word of caution that there are also times that we need to hustle. Let us not mix ideas. When we have to wait for someone, we should wait. When we have to get done, we should hustle. Hope it's clear.
