History

No matter if it concerns the humankind or a certain culture, tribe, family, society, or religion, there's not much to be proud of if it comes to it. We look down on others although we have the benefits of what they achieved. Achieved by conquering us, dominating us, telling us how to live, what to believe, eat, when to work. Let's be honest without abusers, people conquering us most likely we all would still live in the dark ages. The Romans (this was a city!) conquered the world and brought the first parts of what is called "civilization" into our lives. They cared about hygiene, made living in a city less dangerous, and God, Jesus was introduced by them. One leads to the other. People traveled the world out of need. Need to make a living, find food. The need to find new ways. These people were creative, inventive, scared for sure (you never know who you meet) and they managed to build something out of nothing. At the same time they forced their lifestyle, ideas, believe upon others. We can complain about that, be angry because our ancestors were abused but that was the time people lived in and it doesn't give us the right to complain, to point at others today. The fact is we live now! We live with the knowledge, comfort those ancestors, no matter friend or enemy achieved for us. It can be they never thought about their future or building a world for their great great great grandchildren but they did. The food you eat, the spices you use, the clothes and shoes you wear, your bag, the car, the phone, the lightbulb, and the internet, just like the fridge, the way we farm and kill animals are no inventions you made, it is not something you achieved with your skills, courage, power or strong will. Others did the dirty job for you.

Those others you despite, scold at, those pagans, aliens, those you hate and envy made your life better. They even gave you the right to complain, the right to live. My heroes in history might be your enemy but keep in mind they brought you a good life too. It is not as black and white as you like to see it. There's nothing wrong with loving your own culture, norms, values, heroes who fought for you, brought a better life and your history but before you break down another culture it's wise asking yourself which part your own country played in it. We all have a history of slavery, stealing, cheating, lying, to neighbors, neighbor countriesand in many countries they still do not care about human rights, women are still slaves, property. *Something good to read is this* *history* *of mankind too.* https://read.cash/@aniruddhasen/not-a-proud-history-of-mankind-dd585e93
