U djetinjstvu sam se uvijek pitao zašto moju mamu zovu Kondja, računao sam da svako ima nadimak, a nije mi palo na pamet videti i proveriti značenje te reči. Kondja je zapravo ukosnica, a nekada su se žene češljale, savijale kosu u punđu i stavljale kondju, odnosno ukosnicu, dajući tako do znanja da su udate. Kad sam se kao mali igrao u komšiluku pa čujem kako komšinica govori svom mužu "ja idem kod Konđe na kafu, a ti pripazi na decu." Eto ko nije znao šta je kondja sada zna. Kondja is actually a hairpin, and once upon a time, women combed their hair, bent their hair in a bun and put a kondja, ie a hairpin, in that way they let it be known that they were married. And from there, those words when I was playing somewhere in the neighborhood as a child, so I hear a neighbor say to her husband, "I'm going to Kondja's for coffee and you take care of the children."
