Looks like a nebula to me. Nebulae are beautiful space objects that are full of light chemical elements. They’re the birthplace of stars and planets. Did you know that there are a few smudged "stars" on the sky that are actually not stars or planets? In the Northern hemisphere, one can see Andromeda - a galaxy - and the Orion nebula.
