Among the best things one can do in order to stay healthy is to go out and relax in nature. I was hiking in a mountain area where I found a magnificent river going over mossy stones up in the mountains. It was magical sitting by the water and enjoying its soothing sound.

In our fast-paced, constantly-connected world, it's more important than ever to take time for yourself and get back to basics. One of the best ways to do that is by spending time in nature. Not only is it good for your physical health, but it's also great for your mental well-being. Here are four reasons why you should make time for a nature break:

  1. Nature is good for your physical health.

Spending time in nature can help you get some much-needed exercise. Even if you just go for a leisurely walk in the park, you're getting your body moving and getting some fresh air. Research has shown that spending time in nature can also lower your blood pressure and heart rate and reduce stress and anxiety.

  1. Nature is good for your mental health.

In today's world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle and forget to take a break. But taking some time out to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature can help you reset and recharge. Studies have shown that spending time in nature can help reduce stress, improve your mood, and boost your overall sense of well-being.

  1. Nature is good for your soul.

There is something about being in nature that just feels good – it is like a breath of fresh air for your soul. When you take time to appreciate the beauty of the natural world, it can help you feel more connected to something larger than yourself. And that can be a very powerful feeling. Maybe that is why tree-huggers feel good. You can try it, too.

  1. Nature is good for your wallet.

One of the best things about nature is that it's free! Well, depending n where you live, you might need to buy a bus ticket to reach a nature trail but compare that to a movie ticket! Spending time in nature doesn't have to cost a thing. So next time you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take yourself on a nature break – your mind, body, and wallet will thank you for it.

Nothing relaxes like nature. It is refreshing to sit out in the park surrounded by nature. It calms the mind and is a period for meditations, and reflections. Imagine sitting out in the park and feeding birds, it can add to ones lifespan. The high blood pressure would be lowered and the mind made more active with memories revived. It is a good time to think things through and the right decisions taken. Unfortunately, in Africa most of the natural habitats are been destroyed.

I completely agree that nature is the best medicine. It's sad how nature is destroyed to build more office buildings, apartments or industry. I'm blessed with luck to live in a country where nature is everywhere, but in many big European cities you need to travel to reach the park, let alone to go hiking.
